Shri Manohar Parrikar condolence thread
Re: Shri Manohar Parrikar condolence thread
A small stint at the MoD, but a giant leap in Bharat maa's defence capabilities. You, sir, literally made this country safer through your work, a privilege we can only dream about.
Om Shanti.

We were at the same time in IITB. We both campaigned for Subramanian Swamy in 1977.
The Nation has lost an able administrator and a clean leader.
May God give him eternal peace.

What a tragic loss for us. Very few politicians move me when they pass away, and Manohar ji is one of them. A true son of Bharat Mata, worked tirelessly till his very end. We were very lucky to have a person with his integrity and intellect as our Defense Minister.
Re: Shri Manohar Parrikar condolence thread
So sad that he's gone aged only 63 - he still had so much more to give the nation.

RIP . He was a great man !

Re: Shri Manohar Parrikar condolence thread
Dear MP sir, you caught our imagination with your simplicity, sandals on your feet and a ball point pen in your shirt pocket. You were simple, not your resolve to serve your country and people. You will be remembered forever and missed. Sadgathi prapthirasthu.

Rest in peace Sir. Forever indebted. You'll be in our prayers and memories.

The only thing I can think of, is that those who express their evil side are allowed to exhaust all their good karmaphala (so they live to their 90's with little trouble, but then they get it in their next life), whereas those who express their good side are allowed to exhaust all their bad karmaphala (so they suffer and die younger, but are also done with those bad consequences).VikramS wrote: Why do the good die young...

Shocking to hear about this. Why such good people are taken away so early in their lives. He did so much for indian defence in a very short stint. After 10 years of inaction and incompetence shown by congress led government he and BJP have done so much for our defence forces. Om Shanti.
Re: Shri Manohar Parrikar condolence thread
In shock too. Had no idea that he had cancer.
When we see the Tejas soar and in the future, the Mk1A and MWF, we must remember the three years he served as DM and watched over the revival of the LCA program.
RIP, Sir.

Re: Shri Manohar Parrikar condolence thread
A big loss for the nation. I had hoped he would beat cancer and return for another stint in the next Govt. Thank you, Sir, for your contribution to nation building. Condolences to your family for this untimely loss.
Re: Shri Manohar Parrikar condolence thread
May you be reborn in India to serve this country again and to enjoy the fruits of best efforts of previous generation (which includes you) unless Bhagvan gives you Moksha.
Big Big heartfelt Pranams for your honest and simplistic touch to Indian politics. And lastly I don't have enough words to thank you for bringing changes in Indian defence and indigenization program.

A simple person, who made things happen without any fanfare. May his soul Rest In Peace.
Re: Shri Manohar Parrikar condolence thread
Somewhere I always had hope that he would beat cancer, stabilise things in Goa enough and come back to centre to resume his dharma yuddh at the MoD.
Alas, the fate had different plans. A truly blessed sajjan aatma, may he attain moksha.

Re: Shri Manohar Parrikar condolence thread
It's a sad day when Mother India loses one of her capable sons like Shri Manohar Parrikar. Still remember his interview on Rajya Sabha TV where he actually went into details of metallurgy of gun barrels. Sent shivers down my spine. Here finally was the defence minister we always wanted.
Truly a noble son, whose loss will be mourned.
Reminds me of a couple of lines from Tagore on Tanaji which could aptly be quoted for Shri Manohar Parrikar-
"Singhogad-er singho giyache, pore aache shudhu gad, tai loho mata, haaraye putro Tanaji Maleshwar"
