Jammu Terror Attacks

There have been recently many terrorist attacks in Jammu.

Army has moved 500 para commandos to bolster the 3500-4000 troops combing the jungle to rout the Paki terrorists. Apparently these terrorists have settled down in the mountain caves.

Is this Kargil redux? Ceasefire induced complacency allowing terrorists to group in Jammu?

Please gather all info you can.

Army redeploys 500 para commandos in Jammu to hunt Pakistani terrorists

The Army has deployed 3500-4000 soldiers in the Jammu region to hunt down the terrorists in the jungles of different districts where they are reportedly hiding by converting natural caves as the hideouts.

Besides this, around 500 Special para commandos have also been deployed in the vulnerable areas where the terrorists are suspected to be hiding.

I am increasingly convinced that the Central Govt & Armed Forces are unwilling and incapable of carrying out surgical strikes anymore. The LAC front has ensured that. All the big talk about our ability fight a 2.5 front war are just bakwas. We are barely holding our own.

We are back to fighting in our own territory. We can expect Pakis to be more egregious in their future attacks, because the retaliation won't come. Even cross-border firing won't happen because of the US brokered LoC ceasefire that only India seems to respect

Shame!

Why are we inducting special forces in such large numbers for an anti terror operation? Cant the normal uniformed force do it? The Military vets have differing opinions on this topic. What is the understanding here. Gaurav Arya says that SF are strategic Assets not meant for such ops

The valley is locked down. But Jammu was always considered to be a settled region.

With this concerted effort, they are bringing this region in focus by pointing out that the whole of J&K is disputed. By compelling a tranfer of forces they're expecting to achieve relief in the valley.

There is another theory going around too: jihadis want Kashmir to get more prosperous (which means more money for them), while Jammu (Hindu majority) is denuded due to terror attacks. Hence the shift in locus.

Much like how the mafia ensures Las Vegas is crime-free

Let us not forget the China angle in the PUKI thrust in J&K. The other front that needs careful watching is Ladakh and whatever the PLA is planning over there. Emperor is reported to be missing. This is a vulnerable time for Bharat. The elections in the US required Biden to step down and he has announced it by a letter. The Deep State is completely incharge. From now to Nov (US Elections) things are dicey for the world at large. Ukr war is not going well for the deep state and the outcome of Indian Elections is not exactly going their way. So a little bit of chaos in the world is what the deep state wants.

I hope the Armed forces of India are ready and BJP has gamed this one out.

All of these options discussed are still going to be merely treating the symptoms when the root of the disease lies in Rawalpindi / Aabpara. Given their current state of economic, political and social affairs, Pakistan can hardly sustain an escalation on the LoC. However, that seems to be what the Brown Panted Ones are aiming for, just so that the heat on them reduces somehow.

Of course, the China angle too figures. And for that reason itself, no formations should move back from LAC to LoC. Come to think of it, this latest spurt in violence commenced after Munir and Sharif visited China. All that infiltration would have already happened much before. But they were lying low since the attacks of Dec last year.

The question to mull over is 'What Changed?'.

Bottomline: We have to avoid playing into the trap laid by the enemy at all costs.

But whether we can sustain the political cost of no action on the LOC or deeper inside Pakistan itself, is worth thinking about as well.

Is now the time to keep patience and hit hard when situation permits? Or has that flexibility been taken from our hands by the sheer quantum of violence?

Well written Kancha. Need to be cool and calculated.
The brigade and 500 para commandos will be the hammer and anvil to clear these terrorists.

600 Pakistani Army Commandos Present Inside Jammu And Kashmir
According to sources, the entire strategy of these attacks is being planned by the GOC of the SSG commandos of the Pakistan Army, Adil Rahmani. The information reveals that Adil Rahmani is planning attacks in both the Jammu division and the Kashmir Valley, as part of a well-thought-out plan.

The involvement of a Border Action Team (BAT) of the Pakistan Army in the Machil sector of Kupwara district on July 27 confirms the Pakistan Army's direct involvement in the terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Former DGP Dr. SP Vaid states that the Pakistan Army is directly behind the attacks taking place in Jammu and Kashmir. According to Dr. Vaid, this is a secret war, and India will have to respond to it in the same manner.

Dr. SP Vaid said that around 600 SSG commandos have been earmarked for this operation under the supervision of Adil Rahmani. These highly trained commandos have been air-dropped into the region, with many of them already having entered India. The commandos are being led by Lt. Col. Shahid Saleem of the Pakistan Army's elite SSG, who has infiltrated into Jammu and Kashmir and is guiding these commandos and terrorists to carry out attacks.
These commandos are establishing local networks, including sleeper cells and overground workers, to carry out attacks. These networks are providing them with crucial information about the area, food arrangements, and necessary logistical support.

How can they be air dropped in such a sensitive area without detection?

Every time we start losing a few men regularly this "SSG trained /SSG supported" argument comes out.

Do they think it's a boxing where you have weight classes, Oh for rangers we have BSF, For normal terrorists we have CRPF, for better ones we have RR, So it wasn't fair because our own PARA SF wasn't there yet

Why does it matter?... Our mandate is the security of our area no matter who attacks, Do you think the terrorists and enemies are going to make it fair and easy for us by sending chumps with 2 week training?
Even if SEAL Team 6 and SAS show up in the jungles it is still our home turf to guard

It could be one thing if this was the first wave of well trained men coming across but we have been listening to this SSG trained stuff since Kargil

Why isn't every single Indian RR battalion as well trained and equipped as the Paki SSGs to make this point moot

Jammu On High Alert After Hizbul Mujahideen Terrorist Involved In 2019 Attack Goes Missing From Home
Authorities raised the security alert in Jammu after Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Yasir Bhat, involved in a deadly 2019 grenade attack, disappeared from his Kulgam residence

Bhat, who was out on bail, was previously involved in a 2019 grenade attack at the Jammu bus stand that killed two civilians and injured nearly 30 others. Police suspect that Bhat may have rejoined terrorist activities, prompting a large-scale manhunt to mitigate potential threats.

Thank god in heaven; GOI has kicked out the officials who were responsible and failed. In my opinion they should have been asked to submitt their resignation, stating that they take the responsibility for the failure.

It is about time such an action has taken place.
Going forward this approach should ne the norm not an exception

Trial judges play safe by not granting bail, says CJI Chandrachud

CJI DY Chandrachud called for trial judges to fulfil their duties without fear of distrust, ensuring fair and timely justice.
"People who should be getting bail in the trial courts are not getting it there, as a result of which, they have to invariably move the high courts. People who should be getting bail in the high courts will not necessarily get it, as a result of which they have to move to SC. This delay compounds the problem of those who are facing arbitrary arrests," he said.

Speaking at the 11th annual conference of Berkeley Centre for Comparative Equality and Anti-Discrimination Law, hosted by National Law School of India University (NLSIU) at Bangalore International Centre, Justice Chandrachud stressed the need for judges to employ "a robust common sense" and urged the public to trust decision-makers.

He stressed the importance of trusting lower-level courts within the hierarchical legal system. "We have to encourage trial courts to be more receptive to the need for accommodating concerns of people who are seeking liberty," he said. "Unfortunately, the problem today is that we look at any grant of relief by trial judges with a degree of suspicion. That means the trial judges are increasingly playing it safe, not granting bail on important issues of serious crimes."

We used unmanned vehicle, artificial intelligence: Maj Gen Sameer Shrivastava on Akhnoor encounter
extracts
" We have used unmanned vehicle, artificial intelligence that gave us a quick and successful result... We lost one Army Dog - he was ahead when we were doing search operations, and militants fired upon the Dog. It's due to his sacrifice, many of the lives could be saved," Major General Sameer Shrivastava told reporters here.

"After this operation, such information was spreading that the Army had used BMP - we had used that kind of vehicle because the area was tough - with a gradient of 30 degrees and dense forest - we used those vehicles after locating militants to reach there...," Major General Shrivastava added.

Good job neutralizing the jihadi scum. Feel sad for the loss of the canine.

Hoping that our troops get more and more equipment for such operations and double quick.

Light UAVs for recon and light attack (grenades drop), unmanned ATV with gun, compact ATVs for troop movement. Such platforms would be put to very good use for such ops by our jawans.

Immediate priority still remains upgraded BPJs, Optics until all the troops are covered.

M4 guns, AUG rifles: J&K terrorists are now carrying deadlier, more accurate weapons
extracts
Recent attacks on the Army and civilians in the Valley have revealed terrorists equipped with ballistic calculators, image-range finders, night vision devices, and potentially gun-mounted cameras.

In these recent incidents, terrorists demonstrated greater accuracy while firing shots, even at considerable distances, according to a report in News18. The devices enable them to gather detailed area information and effectively target even in low-light conditions, the report cited observations of a senior officer who was part of an operation against the terrorists.|

“It has been found that M4 guns are equipped with thermal rifle scopes featuring high-resolution video, WiFi capabilities, GPS, image stabilisation, and range finders. Additionally, based on footage and photos available to security forces and intelligence agencies, these guns likely have ballistic calculators and may include gun-mounted cameras to record shooting incidents,” the officer told News18.

CCTV footage from a recent attack near the under-construction Z-Morh tunnel on the Srinagar-Sonamarg highway captured terrorists wielding M4 rifles with multiple attachments.
the trail by which such weapons ended up with terrorists should be unraveled. we should raise the issue with the country where such weapons and such lethal accessories are manufactured. they should explain how such weapons came to be with terrorists. monetary compensation should be sought from such countries and the manufacturers for the losses of life and property sustained by innocent civilians.
the results of the investigation and what possible political ends are sought to be achieved by supply of such sophisticated weapons should be lucidly stated in a white paper by the GOI

All trails lead to Washington DC.

The guns and accessories are the ones kindly (and in some cases intentionally) left behind by the Americans when high tailing it out of Afghanistan.
