Recent advances in AI and Data Center clusters along with Quantum Computing will have a great impact on Geopolitics.
This thread is to capture advances and discussions on this topic.

It already does have global impact.
One must see this interview and understand the technical advances in last 3-4 yrs that has taken it multiple order of magnitude higher by "super intelligence" class AI system in US govt establishment that has come about based on fusion of system comprising massive SILICON based AI data centers with quantum computers.
You guys are talking Quantum Computers, but you're leaving out a useful intermediary step, which is ASICs.
Just as ASICs have taken over from GPUs for Crypto Mining, likewise they could do the same for AI computing.
ASICs can be far more energy-efficient than GPUs.
Many of my colleagues and students are actively engaged in fields like AI, data centers, and quantum computing, and there is a palpable sense of excitement about their potential to reshape geopolitics. Initiatives like NITI Aayog's National AI Strategy and the ₹8,000 crore National Mission on Quantum Technologies highlight India’s commitment to these transformative areas. Investments in data centers, supported by policies like the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, are positioning India as a hub for secure data processing. At the same time, institutions like IISc and startups like QNu Labs are pushing the boundaries of innovation in AI and quantum research.
I think India can lead globally - provided we address challenges like limited R&D funding and skills gaps while strengthening international collaborations. By focusing on ethical AI, data sovereignty, and cutting-edge quantum applications, India has the opportunity to establish itself as a key player.

Don't know how much interest/focus is here in scientific/technical discussion and news here .. but this recent news is really very interesting with implications. Obviously it got interest in India's stake-holders too.
From Google CEO :
Introducing Willow, our new state-of-the-art quantum computing chip with a breakthrough that can reduce errors exponentially as we scale up using more qubits, cracking a 30-year challenge in the field. In benchmark tests, Willow solved a standard computation in <5 mins that would take a leading supercomputer over 10^25 years, far beyond the age of the universe(!).
Willow could be an important step in our journey to build a useful quantum computer with practical applications in areas like drug discovery, fusion energy, battery design + more. Details here: More details- Meet Willow, our state-of-the-art quantum chip

Is this going to be commercially deployed on Google Cloud? I believe there were offerings from IBM and AWS in this area, but were simulations rather than actual chips for Quantum Computing. AmberG/Anyone with experience in this, please do share more.

Only 53 qubits
I think IBM is still the leader at 156 qubits, and will be expanding its lead
Arguably, Quantum Computing, being statistical in nature, is naturally suited for AI.
The marriage of Quantum Computing with AI will result in huge advances
(for Indian talking heads, it will primarily mean the joy of combining buzzwords)
DeepMind has developed AlphaQubit for quantum error correction:

Already done few yrs ago, and quickly moved to dark project. Clearly it has grown tremendously since then, all under cover.

Just an example, I asked a typical AI to write a story from Mahabharata so that somebody (eg a leader like LoP) can quote it ..to see if how good job it can do as a speech writer.
Here is what I got:
Not bad! I think this could be used in Lok sabha
Use of AI, is being used.. I asked it to write a typical news story (Using the style of Wire or ToI)... the results were quite good ..it almost looked like a real story!
