Re: Pakistan Armed Forces: News & Discussion Thread
The current political climate and mud slinging will not let another MMRCA happen. This is the golden chance for our designers to step up and deliver a world class platform in LCA MK2. Infact i think history will show us that pappugiri after all turned out to be good for our aeronautical industry.

They copy everything but anyone remember the absolutely scathing review from a journo who spoke to USAF trainers , apparently most PAF F-16 candidates didn't even meet basic standards and were passed for political reasons. The country is a mess. Recruitment won't be gold either. When was this ? Hav...

Whats with the 60 flights per month for FOC ? Is that the pre-defined sortie rate for IAF ? It seems very intense - 3-4 sorties per day. I wonder if thats the benchmark for other fighters in the IAF stable

naird sahab, My mistake. I meant WVR. Truly, I cannot see how TVC can help in a BVR scenario. IMO, we cannot leave aside conventional maneuverability when discussing TVC. But in WVR TVC has been proven to provide more survivability. Notice that a TVC plane can do all that a non-TVC plane can do, but the reverse is not true. However, earlier TVC used to come with tremendous weight penalties and hence the advantages in manoeuvrability would be mitigated by loss in agi...
