Hi All,

Just joined the community. Am based in London and am a bit surprised by the difference in the coverage between Indian media and UK, US media. Why are the Indian journos soft pedalling things. Love the Sky and BBC coverage - poor porkis. They are getting hammered.

Indian media is afflicted with same thing as you are: calling them poor porkis. They are not baichara. They are evil and need to be changed/reformed.

BTW, please read forum guidelines and change your name.

I just find it hard to believe India was willing to launch a cross border raid to kill/capture/expose Osama yet for years we've not been willing to conduct similar raids to kill anti India elements in POK.

If India had attempted to take out earlier, it would have had all "world" support to do so. But it would have:

- upset unkil because it would have cut short unkil intel gathering on others by keeping OBL alive
- upset unkil intels for job loss. 1 rs chaiwalla intel would have been shown superior to 100 mil budget.

- upset MMS as he wouldn't have known that Indian attempted and queen didn't tell him
- upset queen's swiss accounts
- upset 2-bit secular because of "communal" decision by Indian military.

Finally some people in Massa are pulling their heads out of their own musharraf. Sen Leibermann (Senate homeland security committee chairman) says Pakistan should prove to the US that they were *NOT* involved in sheltering Bin Laden.

There will be more juicy bits of what all was found inside the compound.

I hope they didn't recover a DVD of Hasina Atim bum and other such religious articles. That'll be a big dent to the army of believers.

http://battleland.blogs.time.com/2011/0 ... ]Former DIA analyst John McCreary was gob-smacked that bin Laden was found where he was. "Bin Laden could not have lived in a compound in Abbottabad without official Pakistani government sustenance," he says. "Abbottabad is an upscale area and a garrison town, but not so large as to be impersonal. Bin Laden was living in protected luxury. Many people had to know that and probably will come forward in a little time."
:rotfl:
Senior Administration officials said they had been monitoring the compound since last August, ever since a courier known to be trusted by bin Laden, and the courier's brother, were living there. "Everything we saw -- the extremely elaborate operational security, the brothers' background and their behavior, and the location and the design of the compound itself was perfectly consistent with what our experts expected bin Laden's hideout to look like," one official said early Monday. "Our analysts looked at this from every angle, considering carefully who other than bin Laden could be at the compound. We conducted red team exercises and other forms of alternative analysis to check our work. No other candidate fit the bill as well as bin Laden did."

ISI will be doing some massive debriefing session on the support staff bin laden.

wonder what will be the fate of the nurses, doctors, messenger boys and comfort goats who were such an integral part of his lifestyle. will they be sold to cia for baksheesh as they have no more utility value?

This entire episode would have been an embarrassment for any society but the pakis are such an unique shameless species that soon this will matter nothing to them and they will resume their business as usual.

That is the funniest thing I have read so far on this. There were no phones in the compound.

Of course, Pakis will lie like hell to make it look as if they had something to do with this operation. The interesting part is why CNN sees the need to repeat such obvious bull-crap.

From above link

The operation went off without a hitch, save for a mechanical snafu on a CH-47 that required the U.S. team to destroy it.

The Pakistanis are guilty as hell.
The stone walling that they are doing on Indian TV exposes everything.

They pretend that they have H&D left. Our anchors should scoff them more.

The talibunnies have just announced that Pakistan is their enemy number 1 from this point forwards.

I think TSP thought Abbotabad is far from Afghan based US reach and kept OBL there. Locations like FATA/WANA/ Peshawar were all dis-information and feeding the sterotype of OBL on a white horse escaping Tora Bora caves like TE Lawrence on a camel.

The guy needs medical attention and what best place to have that then TSP Medical Corps Hqr hospital staff. And the large military garrison complex(PMA and three regimental Centers) must have lulled them into thinking all iz well! And note its close to POK and he could be shifted as needed in a shell game.

Soon after 9/11 India reports had located him in Deosai plain and now he is terminated close to POK area.

Gagan how far is Deosai from Abbotabad?

The camouflage for the operation was absolutely perfect.

As I understand it US special forces aviation and operators had deployed to the Tarbela Airport ("Ghazi") next door, apparently on training with the SSG and PA Army Air Corps.

The Pakistani military would not have understood what was really going on until it was all over.

The US helicopter units in the flood relief effort of in 2010 operated out of Tarbela Ghazi.

RahulM, The absence of phone data from that bldg might have confirmed the US suspicions? So TSP might have handed over raw/unprocessed data and US might have mapped the numbers to addresses and when there was no match it confirmed their suspicions.

Offcourse no credit to TSP for that!

Dont get fooled. Those US people who know really will not tell that US military was working with Al Quaida for a long time. After 911 there was good understanding to work together to reduce and keep them under the radar. It has been going on for 10 years and hence no news about OBL for 10 years. Idea was to eliminate all the rank and file of the ALQ secretly and keep the state of Pakistan stable.

Don't get me wrong on this guys, but its sad watching Nidhi & Arnab get so over excited, repeating the minute by minute sequence of events leading to OBL's knock out punch as though India has something to do with this. I am still not sure how much is in this for us SDREs. One can sense how much Arnab and so do I wish that us SDREs can execute such a precision hit and take out Dawood Ibrahim or Hafeez Saeed or Maulana Azhar. Celebrating somebody else's victory might give some cheap thrills like watching a soft p0rn movie, but one must not loose sight of the reality.

As the pessimist that I am, I won't be surprised if in the coming days, US does the worst kind of equal equal. Both TSP & India can't be trusted as US allies, one double deals on terror, and the other back stabs by not buying Boeing aircarft even though that would have made India a global superpower of the 21st century :-). Even that dog bone would be a huge salvaging of H&D for Kiyani & Paasha.

SSS reports:
Islamabad, 2 May (AKI) - By Syed Saleem Shahzad - Osama Bin Laden was killed along with his son and two of his wives and a number of his aides were arrested in the Pakistani city of Abbotabad near the Pakistan military academy after a military operation in which gunship helicopters took part. One helicopter shot down.
The American military forces transferred the Al-Qaeda leader's body to the Bagram air base in Afghanistan north of Kabul, according to the unnamed sources. Some news reports said his body was ''disposed off' at sea.
Pakistani's Inter-Services Intelligence spy agency declined to comment on the matter when contacted by Adnkronos International (AKI).
Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti confirmed the military operation happened close to the Pakistani military academy, reiterrating that Pakistani forces took part in the raid.
