WOnder why this is not reported by the Hindu, NDTV and Et all? any guesses why?

YSR was a Christian. NDTV and Hindu and owned/run by Christians. QED.

Incidentally, I had my second case of religious discrimination in India recently, where a job offer was withdrawn to me for supporting Narendra Modi on facebook.

The first case was in BLR in Reuters.

This is ridiculous. My sugesstion to fellow BRites, Play Taqqiya like these guys in the last 60 years, get to important positions and start getting this mafia out of business. If they can track what you put in Facebook, then probably do a lot of profiling before recruitment I suppose.

You are in the media industry and this is how they create manufactured consent.
They will weed out what they see as outsiders and get only the insiders in who will view with the same group think. National interest is not considered primary criteria.

There is a lot of discrimination happening against Hindus that we do not take cognizance of. I would not have known of the discrimination in Reuters had I not overheard a particular conversation and understand the person responsible.

Free mobiles, bicycles for retaining Bihar migrant labourers
Ludhiana (Punjab): Facing acute labour shortage mainly due to less influx of migrant labourers, particularly from Bihar, employers are doling out freebies like mobile phones and bicycles to lure workers.

Witnessing almost 30 per cent labour shortage, nearly 5000 small and big manufacturers of bicycles and parts in Ludhiana, popularly known as the country's "bicycle capital", are facing threat of closure, traders said. Some of the leading names in the bicycle manufacturing here include Hero, Avon and Rolex.

The ill-effect of the labour crisis is also felt on the farm sector as well as on textile manufacturing in the district.

MGNREGA was another factor pointed out for this.

"The labourers are also given mobile recharge coupons of Rs 50 to Rs 200 denominations to talk to their families," D S Chawla, former president of United Cycle and Parts Manufacturing Association, told PTI.

A bicycle costing around Rs 2500 is given either free or for a paltry sum to these labourers so that they can paddle to their work place, P D Sharma, president of Chamber of Commerce and Industries (Punjab), said.

A survey has found that migration of labourers from Bihar in search of livelihood to places like Punjab and Delhi has declined by over 26 per cent, thanks to initiatives taken by the Nitish Kumar government in the past five years to check their exodus.

Punjab seeking help from center to store food grains

http://www.tribuneindia.com/2011/20111128/punjab.htm#6

Food Security Legislation
State seeks help for storing foodgrain
Sarbjit Dhaliwal
Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, November 27
The Punjab Government has urged the Centre to provide financial and technical support to the state for scientific storage of foodgrain to be distributed under the proposed Food Security Act. The proposed Food Security Bill is likely to be passed in the current winter session of Parliament.

On the proposed draft Bill, the state government has told the Centre that apart from creating storage facilities, there is a need for a technical backup to handle the distribution system. For this, a huge investment is required. Hence, the Centre must give financial assistance to the state.

Owners of fair price shops should be given at least Rs 10,000 per month as salary to handle the distribution of foodgrain to the beneficiaries. If not salary, they should be given a commission on the value of the foodgrain distributed.

For implementing the scheme under the Act, the government has sought details of cost-sharing to calculate funds required for the purpose. Objecting to reducing the allocation of foodgrain from 35 kg to 25 kg per family per month, the Punjab Government has urged the Centre to link the allocation with the number of family members per ration card.

“Whereas a family of two will not require an allocation of 25 kg of food- grain, a bigger family comprising five members can be allocated more foodgrain. However, there should be a cap on the number of members in a family,” a senior official of the Food and Supplies Department said.

The state government has suggested that in case of a natural calamity resulting in a dearth of foodgrain, the beneficiaries could be given “security allowance” instead of foodgrain.

The procedure to identify BPL (below poverty line) families should be state-specific and linked to the poverty index. There should be a mechanism to address the grievances of the public regarding the exclusion or inclusion of beneficiaries. The scheme should be implemented through fair price shops run by the Food and Supplies Department. Members of Panchayati Raj institutions should be involved only in monitoring the distribution process by having them on vigilance committees

The state government should be given the option to distribute wheat flour too. A senior official said the Centre had assured the government of incorporating some of the suggestions in the Bill.

Govt wants.....

* Owners of fair price shops be either paid at least Rs 10,000 per month as salary for distribution of foodgrain or a commission
* To link the foodgrain allocation with the number of family members per ration card
* In case of a natural calamity resulting in a dearth of foodgrain, the beneficiaries be given “security allowance”
* The process to identify BPL families should be state-specific, linked to the poverty index
* Members of Panchayati Raj institutions should be involved in monitoring the distribution process by having them on vigilance committees
* The state should be given the option to distribute wheat flour too

OT Reply to Theo saars claim in the nuclear thread that Shri V.Narayanaswamy is a 'true blu congresswallah'-

Rather he is a TN congress man who grew out of the earlier Justice Party Culture supported, manufactured by the British(no doubt finding echo in the grievances of the affected party) which promoted resentment against Hinduism,North Indians,Brahmanas and fuelled an Aryan-dravidian divide .That culture is dying. For the 'upper' and 'middle' hindu castes, there is no real reason to hold on to that historical baggage.

Because of peculiar circumstances in tamizh country(language pride, reservation for non-brahmanas given the huge early start for brahmanas,BTW no body in TN talks about the incredible control of christians over education which they inherited from European missionaries),the Congress was hampered in reaching out to tamizh people and the propogation of Congress ideas/ideals inspite of which JLN/MKG/IG/RG are aseen as progressive leaders) the best congress can have are people like Narayanswami/Jayanthi Natarajan, financial engineers like P.Chidambaram.Its a double whammy for them, they are seen as poster boys by tamizh nationalists, people in other indian states cannot understand why these 'leaders' cannot be more open, articulate.)

In a way, they are the last embers of the British inspired Justice Party culture-the interlocutors between Delhi and tamizh people and misunderstood by both sides. Are they going to be replaced by representative people who share the idea of india(which is not God given) or is the gulf going to become wider spawning extremism/fragmentation.

One hopes it will be the former. That the representatives of the people can see the larger whole and the 'larger whole' is sensitive to its constituents..The idea/working/functioning of India does not need to sacrifice 'indviduality'/diversity/equity at all nor has it to appease one or more .

To be exact,Shri Narayanaswamy is from Puducherry. Here there was no Justice Party and its attendant corollaries.Without french instigation, the leaders of society came from the landed 'high castes' -the mudaliyars and reddiars. They are enthusiastic supporters of congress.shri narayanaswamy had no clue of the ground reality when he reached kudankulam. In that sense,he was like a TN congressman whose links with the grassroots is tenuous.

2 paise rants and all that.

"I can do it, we can do it and India can do it". - Dr Abdul Kalam o 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda
Gandhinagar: Former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on Thursday kicked off the year-long celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda in the presence of 5,000 college students gathered at Mahatma Mandir from across the state. CM Narendra Modi and state cabinet members were present at the gala event.

Kalam exhorted the youth of India to have firm faith in the self and then resolve to utilize the same faith in the service of the nation through sheer hard work. He gave the mantra: "I can do it, we can do it and India can do it". If the will is there, he said, "I can win, we can win and India can win."

As most of the audience comprised college students from different universities of the state, the event was charged up with the zeal and energy of youth.

In fact, in the electrifying atmosphere in the main hall of the Mahatma Mandir, it was like a punishment for all the ministers who had to sit idle on the dais for more than an hour. Indeed, state civil supplies minister Narottam Patel took an afternoon nap on the dais.

Welcoming Kalam, Fakirbhai Vaghela, state sports, youth and cultural affairs minister praised Narendra Modi and compared him with Narendranath (Swami Vivekananda). "The glory and power which Narendranath had 150 years back is in our Narendrabhai. Whatever message Swami Vivekananda gave in his life time, Narendrabhai is working hard to realize it," said Vaghela.

In his speech Modi said, "Swami Vivekananda was a source of inspiration to the youth in the past. He awakened them from the slumber and drudgery of slavery to fierce patriotism. He interpreted the Vedas to explain the highest forms of spiritualism in a simple language.

Modi called upon the youth to adopt the mantra of 'Skill-Will-Win' as the best possible tribute to Vivekananda.

'Jayalalithaa was a customer at Sasikala's video shop'
http://www.rediff.com/news/slide-show/s ... 111222.htm

Jaya's losing of Sasikala may cause her next election! One is Sasikala may reveal many things about Jaya at appropriate time. Though Sasikala and company are completely corrupt, their presence in AIADMK saved the leader number of times. But now Sasikala's joining DMK may bring down Jaya next time and bring the cycle of DMK's rule again. This is not a good circle for TN! Karuna will then close down all that Jaya started and reopen all that he started. Finally people suffer!

^^ The doubt has always been that Sasikala has incriminating material to expose JJ. However, I am not sure if Sasikala has any vote gathering value. Even in the latest campaign, it was a one woman (JJ) show all the way.

I agree with you on the need for continuity in TN politics. TN simply cannot afford cancelled projects any longer.
MK abandoned the development of ECR (as it was JJ's pet project), monorail and all the railway crossing bridges in Chennai.
Now with JJ back in power, Monorail plans have been dusted off the shelf and Metro Phase II has been put in limbo. Anna Library is proposed to be abandoned/converted, new Assembly building is abandoned and being converted to a super speciality hospital/PG Medical college.

Abandoning Metro Phase II (if it happens) would have the biggest negative impact for Chennai. The other 2 decisions have marginal impact and something good may come out of it actually.

I personally prefer JJ to MK anyday. She is extremely determined, hardest working TN chief minister, doesn't have the corrupt family, got rid of the Sasikala baggage. She has the potential to be another Modi in terms of administration, if she sets her mind to be one.

steps to cancel BPL cards to govt employees
The State Government has taken steps to cancel the BPL ration cards secured by government officials. Labour Minister Shibu Baby John said here on Thursday that around 16,000 cards would be cancelled in this regard. Directives have been issued to take department-level action against the officials, the Minister said.
The government had detected that around 24,000 government employees had secured BPL cards in violation of norms. Though the government requested the officials to convert their BPL cards into APL category, only 8,000 responded. The Minister said that the government would take steps against all those who had illegally secured BPL cards.
A person who is in govt job cannot be in poverty.
wonder how many in govt jobs all over the country have BPL cards.
poor will remain poorer, and noteworthies like our hon'ble PC can keep playing to galleries that India has poverty for 1000s of years.

Ahmedabad, Jan 20 (PTI) Japanese sanitary ware and bath-fitting manufacturer TOTO today inked an MoU with the Gujarat industrial facilitation arm iNDEXTb to set up a greenfield facility in Halol industrial area at investment of USD 76 million. The MoU was signed by Industrial Extension Bureau (iNDEXTb) Managing Director Mukesh Kumar and project leader of TOTO India Pvt Ltd, Toshikatsu Kondo, in the presence of Chief Minister Narendra Modi. The company is a part of industry delegation led by Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), which is on a two-day visit to Gujarat. "We are willing to make changes in our institutions as per your requirements for human and skill development," Modi said. "The idea is that by the time your industry is set up in Gujarat, trained workforce is also available." Meanwhile, trouble brewing in Uttar Pradesh.

Commissioner-SSP verbal duel reaches flashpoint

A heated argument between Basti divisional commissioner, senior IAS officer Anurag Srivastava and his young IPS subordinate Mohit Gupta, SP, Sidharthnagar, during an election meeting on Thursday reached a flashpoint when the senior bureaucrat publicly showed his subordinate IPS the door, before a crowded conference room.

Publicly humiliated, the IPS officer sought refuge in the Uttar Pradesh Indian Police Services Officers' Association (UPIPSOA) on Friday, which in turn demanded immediate transfer of the bureaucrat from his post. A delegation of the UPIPSOA submitted a memorandum with the principal secretary, home, and the chief electoral officer (CEO), UP, Umesh Sinha, demanding action against the bureaucrat's behaviour which was described as nothing less than "criminal conduct".
Reports coming in say that 12 IPS Officers are said to be contemplating mass resignation if the matter is not quickly solved. The IPS Association is demanding punishment for Basti Commissioner and Principal Secretary Kuwane Fateh Bahadur(He was Home Secretary until recently before EC transfered him) The Gov. has formed a committee to solve the issue within 3 days seeing that Elections are going to take place soon.

This may be OT:
I am not commenting on the merits of IPS officers' demands. But the sense of urgency displayed in this is a far cry from the Army Chief's DOB saga. These things give bad message to the men in uniform (all uniforms not just armed forces) to form Associations. The Gov. would not have taken notice if the officer had made a complaint as an individual officer.

Amen..
1. In Bengaluru there was a case of the wife of an IAS officer hitting a lady police inspector. What more, the spoilt brat of this Arya Mahila was also involved. The son it seems was repeatedly abusing police officers, so much so that the lady Police Inspector asked him to mind his business. That got Momma all upset and she lashed out at the Inspector. And then quickly made a get away. CCTV footage was used to identify the accused. Arrest was formally noted yesterday.
Deccan Herald

Not very prominently reported, but I have seen reports in which the sub-ordinate staff (mainly in the police) complain that some of the superior officers, mainly from the north treats the sub-ordinates as their personal servants.

2. In Kerala a Vigilance case is now in progress against Com. VS Achuthandanan for giving away government land to a relative of his. The IAS officer who were involved in this transaction are also in the list of accused. This led to such a commotion that the very evening the IAS association all mustered at one place to discuss the whole case. They were upset that IAS officers who "merely obeyed the orders" are now present in the list of the accused.

Trip to Delhi and Chennai

I recently visited Delhi. The last time I was in Delhi for a long visit was in 2003. Delhi-NCR easily has the best infra in the parts of
India I have seen. Thanks to the CG Delhi road infra looks in much better shape and organized as compared to 2003. Metro is excellant. Parts of the city looks like developed country. Airport looks great. ND railway station and area has shown improvement except for the horrible sanitary condition. IR should seriously expedite waste management on trains. It is not healthy for tourists to see and smell crap at railway stations. Overall cleanliness in Delhi needs further improvement as I found uncleared and overflowing garbage vats in the colonies. The major obstacle for Delhi to become international city are the unauthorized colonies and ghettos. They should really start thinking of redeveloping these along the lines of Mumbai. Visited Ghaziabad. Didn't expect much but the parts I saw are not as bad as I had expected. Looked like and extension of Delhi. As far as infra is concerned Kolkata looks like a backward town as compared to Delhi-NCR.

Trip back to Kolkata by Rajdhani was depressing. The towns and small cities along the way are in very bad shape. JNNURM needs
to be expanded to cover all urban areas at some point.

Trip to Chennai was for the first time. City centre is very congested but overall look and feel of city is not bad. Cleanliness needs
much improvement as I saw a lot of overflowing vats. Beach needs proper maintenance and cleanliness. Road infra is not bad but
not as good as Delhi-NCR. Pavements need attention. Road infra needs expansion.

Karnataka minister caught watching ***** in assembly
http://www.deccanherald.com/content/225 ... -*****.html
Karnataka Co-operation Minister Laxman Savadi was Tuesday caught watching blue film clippings on his cell phone in the state assembly, plunging the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party into unprecedented crisis in the state.
Kannada TV channels showed Savadi with Women and Child Welfare Minister C.C. Patil next to him watching the sex act on his cell when the assembly was discussing a pro-Hindu group allegedly hoisting a Pakistani flag in north Karnataka recently.

Savadi, Patil and Chief Minister D. V. Sadananda Gowda were not immediately available for comment.

Opposition Congress and Janata Dal-Secular blasted the ministers and the BJP, and sought the immediate dismissal of the two ministers. They should be expelled from the assembly, they said.

"This is the most shameful incident in the history of Karnataka assembly. Savadi should be sacked as minister and expelled from the assembly,” Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah of the Congress told reporters.

State JD-S chief and former chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy too sought immediate dismissal of Savadi and said his party will decide Wednesday action to be taken in the assembly and outside over the “shocking incident”.

An yearly ritual for Old Lucknow
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city ... 785790.cms
Sectarian violence grips old Lucknow

In what can be termed as a case of carelessness on the part of top police officials, sectarian tension, which began late on Sunday night, escalated further on Monday resulting in injuries to over half-a-dozen persons including bullet injuries to at least one of them following brick-batting and firing between members of two sects in several localities under three police station areas of the city.

Incident of firing and stone-pelting continued throughout the day, while security forces including Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel had tough time containing the violence in most of the areas. Senior police and district administrative officials including IG, Lucknow Javed Akhtar, DIG DK Thakur, DM Anil Sagar, ADM City OP Pathak were also on toes throughout the day moving from one locality to another as and when the news of violence trickled in. However, according to sources, there is a need to understand how this rioting actually escalated on Monday after it began late on Sunday night.

A senior police official on the condition of anonymity said that in view of Barawafat procession, which is an annual affair, enough PAC personnel were provided to the police. However, the order stated that the PAC would be deployed till February 5.

At around 8.00 pm on Sunday, PAC personnel returned to their battalion, even as substitute paramilitary force was not available.

This led to a void in security bandobast. Soon, reports started reaching police officials that several people have started gathering near Dargah Hazrat Abbas. Local police rushed to the spot and kept a vigil on the movement of the people.

However, soon members of a sect from a particular community resorted to stone-pelting on members of other community following sloganeering from the other side. Caught unaware, the police personnel actually were out-numbered by the number of people who were assembled there.

The situation worsened as several members from both the side exchanged fire. It was after this that one company of RAF was rushed to Dargah Hazrat Abbas. The violence on Sunday night left at least three persons injured. The security situation remained more or less the same even on Monday. While RAF men were patrolling near Dargah Hazrat Abbas side at around 8.30am, a group of trouble-makers again indulged in stone-pelting.

Soon several people gathered and members from both the side even resorted to firing on each other. Soon the violence spread to other areas of Chowk, Saadatganj and Thakurganj in the old city. The locality affected by violence included Pulagaam Hussain, Katra Bizen Beig, Chaupatiyaa, Akbari Gate, Sharga Park, Billauchpura, Gadi Peer Khan, Amberganj, Ghanta Beig Gaddaiyya, Kaazman, Marium Talaab, Kashmiri Mohalla, Maula Nagri, Wazirbagh, Satkhanda area and Hussainabad area.

Reports of sporadic rioting continued to pour in from different localities throughout the day with forces running from one place to another to quell the violence. The violence also saw hooligans looting shops and resorting to arson. Around half-a-dozen shops near Dargah Hazrat Abbas were set on fire by the mob, while stone-pelting on police outpost and other points was also reported from Satkhanda area. The situation improved in the afternoon when heavy PAC force once again reached the troubled areas to assist RAF and Rapid Response Force (RRF) personnel. After this, the situation was gradually brought under control in Saadatganj and Chowk areas.

However, reports of violence and stone-pelting continued to pour in from Satkhanda locality in Thakurganj area. Heavy police force was pressed in that area, which finally brought the situation under control. The police rounded up around two-dozen trouble-makers.

Time-pass in assembly - bhajapa ishtyle. Looks like in the state BJP ministry, the rule is "gentlemen prefer iranis".

Karnataka: 3 BJP ministers caught watching ***** in Assembly resign
hree BJP ministers "voluntarily" resigned on Wednesday over the shocking sleaze row to rock the Karnataka Assembly. Mangalore in-charge Minister Krishna Palemar, Co-operation Minister Laxman Savadi and Karnataka Women and Child Welfare Minister CC Patil tendered in their resignation during a BJP core committee meeting that was held early on Wednesday morning. The ministers said they were resigning to save the party's image.

CC Patil and Lakshman Savadi were caught watching an obscene video on their mobile phones on Tuesday while the Assembly was in session. A regional TV channel aired the footage of the duo watching the clippings when the Assembly was debating the issue of hoisting of Pakistan national flag in a town in Bijapur district on the New Year's day.

The footage showed Savadi watching the video and later joined by Patil for a brief while.

Savadi had tried to explain away the controversy saying the video was a "value addition" for a discussion on the rave parties that happened during a tourism festival in coastal Karnataka.

BJP leader Dhananjay Kumar said in the aftermath, "The BJP has taken this seriously. We uphold morality in public life. What has happened is unfortunate."

Two Karnataka ministers were today caught watching alleged ***** clips on phone in the Assembly, but one of them later claimed the pictures were “from an incident of crime and rape in Iran"

So engrossed were the BJP’s Lakshman Savadi and C.C. Patil, both married and in their early fifties, that they didn’t realise they were being filmed from the gallery by a local TV channel that ran a prime-time report on its chance discovery.

The state BJP isn’t a stranger to episodes of alleged ministerial sleaze. One of them, Hartal Halappa, lost his job for allegedly raping his friend’s wife in 2010. Another, M.P. Renukacharya, continues to be a minister despite his alleged involvement with a nurse who had gone public with pictures that purported showed her in compromising positions with the leader.

The Karnataka ministers have resigned and that was the right thing to do.Their conduct was improper and was unbecoming of their position.

Still, they did not commit a crime.

What is strange is the quality of these ministers and also of the BJP party in KA,as represented by these guys.I know there are sterling people like Dr Acharyaji.
In ancient times,Sri Rama came to Kishkinda. There were mahapurusha-s like Hanuman and Jambavan and also the fickle minded king of the vanaraas-Sugriva.

Sri Rama,Hanuman and Jambavaan guided Sugriva.Today Shri Yeddiyurappa is in and out of jail.We talk of stark difference between TSP and India. How stark is the difference in Dakshinapatha/Aryavartha between Treta and Kali Yugaas.

From what I have seen so far in Karnataka BJP govt. Most of the ministers (or elected leaders) seems to be off the type who does not have any idealogical leanings towards BJP. They currently are with the BJP, and may soon move out if things don't go their way. I am not saying this about some of the ministers holding important portfolios etc.In the order to some how get a majority to form a government BJP has certainly gone for sub-standard quality folks.

Sachin: Why the sudden need to disassociate them from "ideological leanings" of BJP ? Savadi is as close to ideological purity as you can get in BJP ...

BJP dips into RSS pool for ‘flawless’ leaders (Dec '2011)
Prominent RSS leader from north Karnataka and cooperation minister Lakshman Savadi has been made chief whip in the Assembly after the post was vacated by Jeevaraj, a close confidant of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa.
Savadi's smut watching partner, C C Patil, also has demonstrated a puritanical streak earlier ...

http://in.news.yahoo.com/the-big-question--are-women-to-blame-for-rape-.html
Karnataka's Women & Child Welfare minister C. C. Patil was quoted saying that women should “know how much skin they should cover.” He stated that incidents like rape and sexual harassment can be attributed to the decline in moral values in men, indirectly caused by women dressing “provocatively.”
C C Patil is a gift to BJP from Congress.

Citing BJP pressure in Jayalalithaa case, Karnataka AG quits

The BJP is hardly covering itself in glory these days.

The BJP minister who was viewing smut in the assembly tried all illegal means suppress the news reaching his constituency:

Savadi power darkens Athani
Supporters of disgraced Co-operation Minister Lakshman Savadi on Tuesday forced the Hubli Electricity Supply Company (Hescom) to cut off power in Athani, the minister’s hometown, and the surrounding areas, besides asking television cable operators to black out channels showing Savadi watching a ***** clipping in the Legislative Assembly during a session.

Power supply was restored later after they took the Hescom officials to task, the Congress workers claimed.

But Savadi’s supporters did not stop at that. They allegedly snapped television cable wires in different areas at Athani even as the power supply resumed. Cable services were restored only by Wednesday afternoon.

They also made all-out efforts to prevent newspapers from reaching Athani Wednesday morning. The minister’s aides held a meeting with newspaper agents Tuesday night and asked them not to distribute newspapers in the town. They even promised them that the loss would be compensated.
If we have ministers like these in the centre, God only knows what they'd do.

We already have, except with more power. So they stop the cable channels and newspapers showing.

You don't need to contact God to know the answer. You could look at N. D. Tiwari. You could also think about the conditions which existed during the emergency. The guys in Bangalore couldn't be worse than those clowns.

Virupaksha ji: Kindly enlighten me - which present central minister has cut electricity, snapped cable TV, stopped newspaper deliveries ?

Abhishek ji: There's no equal-equal between residence and state assembly. I'm not passing moral judgement on either of these gents - the question is what an elected person does with the time they are supposed to spend legislating. The irony is greater when one personage had been passing moral injunctions on women folk of the state just a month back.

Indeed there is no ==. How can watching **** be equal to doing lewd acts with three women? (And yes, Tiwari's conduct is worse than the recent events in KA assembly.) And he is a guy who has been a governor and a cabinet minister. I guess we can safely assume that he is among the best a certain party can offer. One can only imagine what "less qualified" party members are doing. We wouldn't need moral policemen if we didn't have people like N. D. Tiwari.

From wiki
The news channel also said that a woman called Radhika arranged the sting after Mr Tiwari promised her a lucrative mining contract in return for arranging regular liaisons for him with women — but then reneged on his side of the deal
So you are right, there is no ==.
