Re: India selects Typhoon & Rafale for MMRCA shortlist - Par

I still have confusion about the bid figures? For the given estimated price of 42000 Rs or 10.4 billion how could they purchase 126 aircraft, when we have a higher value of dollars and the value of both the aircraft also varies.

^^^ No Dice! The Chinese aren't crazy or stupid to declare war over a fishing boat, they wouldn't do that even to a nation like the Philippines or Brunei which have no nukes! The simplest and easiest way to ruin the Chinese fishing party is to send another fishing trawler and let is ram right into ...

MBT Arjun Mark-II to cost approximately Rs 37 crore Now I guess people will realize why the FICV contract is going to be worth 12.5 billion for just 2610 vehicles. inflation is a big issue in the defense industry and the FICV that is being planned is cutting edge. by the time it rolls out in 2018-1...

I think till then we have suffice span to discuss the group dovelopment, its communication network link, sub group...

Re: Pakistan arms sales, ops, doctrine, etc

Tne pakistan air defence really lack in strealth flying objects detection. The US seal easily jamm there radars and place totally undetected. If the defence situation is really such then the PAK FA is really best option for deep strike.

Re: MRCA Discussion - October 2, 2010

TOT is the core of MRCA deal. Contender like france are more promising on this part. Technology absorbtion should be the main focus while final selecthon. Reason is tech. direct absorbtion would be more efficient way then dovelop all at home. This will put an edge in all projects in pipeline even ma...

Re: MRCA Discussion - October 2, 2010

I think we should opt only those MRCA participents who will allow us whole technology transfer esp the higher end. MRCA deal for India would't be just as a addition in fleet (like the MKI) but this deal may add adhoc for current indig. Projects.

Re: Indian Military Aviation

the basic difference is the LCH is what the name suggests, a light helicopter with lesser payload. However the operating altitude remains to be seen. Also the AH-64D has the radome on top to enable the Apache to be concealed while it attacks . I dont know if that will be an option on the LCH. while...
