Re: Should we discontinue EVMs?

The firmware is One Time Programmable. Once programmed, it can not be changed. The only way to have a different program is to replace the board. The order of candidates will be known only after the final list is prepared. So, biasing it beforehand is impossible. The immensely resourceful Rahul Meht...

Re: Should we discontinue EVMs?

Hello folks, long time no see. General Election 2019 is over and the dust has settled. VVPAT was used for every EVM this time, and that is a positive development, on the face of it. However, after I got home from voting, I had a vaguely uncomfortable feeling. Thinking about my voting experience, I r...

I agree with Rohit that the common man would lend his ear first to the road-food and power related topics, before listening to Batla and Kashmir. Nobody can say that these are not important issues. We should be careful. In Rahul ghandy's press conference it was made clear that CBI director will continue to be appointed by Govt. A general rule cannot be made. Chanakya acknowledges that deception has an important role. Deceiving some one with evil intentions, for a good cause, is a valid tactic.

However the particular plan being discussed plays with the expectations of poor people, and hence cannot be recommended.
