http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/NEWS/newsrf.php?newsid=12547 Based on this article, Russia's exports are more to China than to us (35% as opposed to 24%). On BR, we have seen a hue and cry about the French, German, US etc supplying to both warring sides (w.r.t TSP). With our huge defence deals with R...

Have they completed root cause analysis for the Agni-II failures last year? According to India Today, Feb 22nd Issue, (Quoted from Avinash Chander, Programme Director AGNI), YES. Apparently both failed tests were due to quality issues in production. One was due to 'poor quality wiring' and in other...

That was with reference to anti-ship ballistic missiles and not cruise missiles. I understand. However, the naval chief suggests the difficulty lies in spotting and identifying targets in High seas as the primary problem (the accuracy/type of missile whether ballistic/cruise is not the doubt). Chinese crude shipments are already subject to 2 Indian chokepoints. India needs to build up Fortress Nicobar - It needs at-least 2 squadrons of MKI's with their attendant refuelers. Its needs a major IN base to control everything that moves past those straits. It needs land based BRAHMOS II's with...

I am not sure how correct it is but I will answer this with a personal incident. In my first year at Aerospace Dep at IITB (about 3 and half years ago) we had one reputed (I am sorry forgot the name) DRDO sceintist (who was presonally involved in our missile program) come and talk to a few students...

I have an idea for the stall. Considering the volume of DDM we see in the indian press, how about we take up the charge to clean up the articles for them. A committee of Gurus could be formed to look at these and distribute amongst us lesser mortals for the dog work. We do a scan of the articles and...

Also for the folks who claim we have been eating the pudding of nuclear deterrence need to be reminded that we didn't have nuclear weapons and capacity to deliver it for much time after 1962. Assuming the LCA is inducted(partially) by 2015, what would it match up against and beat convincingly w.r.t PLAAF and PAF? How long will it be in service and remain competitive against upgrades of match ups in PLAAF and PAF? I am new and I think I am dumb...I anticipate brickbats, so please feel free.
