Long overdue: Mumbai Cops get a grip on hi-tech guns Mumbai: The wait is finally over for the city police. After getting flak for using outdated arms to counter terrorists in the 26/11 attacks, the officials have received the first lot of modern weapons and equipment that were on their wish list. A...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion
Friends we are not facing any threat from any 5th gen fighters from our hostilities as of now. We are investing heavily in PAK-FA and MCA, which should address our 5th gen concerns. We already have a better aircraft(MKI) compared to our neighbours. Considering this I strongly feel that MRCA should b...

this version of MSMC looks a lot different from its original avatar. much more refined. RM, are full auto carbines really needed by police forces in India ? in 95% cases the SLR or INSAS will suffice IMHO. carbines can go to the select HR/QRTs. SLR or INSAS are not required for most of the police u...

I have read it that Hezbollah tried to use stinger systems against Israel's F-16s and attack choppers, but they would not lock on to any of them due to some in built logic. I'm really worried that in times of conflict the weapons purchased from USA could have similar characteristics. But a still maj...

for air delivered nukes, having a hypersonic attack vehicle is best means of ensuring SAMs cannot get to it and have minimum time window to react. If hypersonic speed is critical in aerial delivery, IRBMs and ICBMs would achieve higher speeds at terminal phase. Wouldn't it be better to use random t...

I think US made a blunder by pumping in billions into F22 program. That money could have been used to create much more powerful drones which are the future of air force. With F22 they are stuck with a super expensive plane which they are afraid to use and lose. In addition, while stealth is very ex...

Raveen, I dont have anything against F-18 (please no f-16, Pakistan has it), but NO EUMA. If F-18 comes with the same amount of strings as Mig-35 or Rafale, it is a good buy. But with the EUMA, it becomes something which has to be trashed. I don't support this argument that we should avoid F-16 as ...

Which other missiles could be coupled to the Spyder system(Akash or Astra)?
I mean with its Radar, Command Control setup, vehicles etc. And not pushing them through its canisters.
(And yes, I know Spyder= Python+Derby)

Just wondering.. ERA tiles on tanks decrease the effectiveness of APFSDS rounds. This is done by causing the ERA tiles to explode on the sabots impact. 10 Billion$........ I am strongly feeling that spending 10 Billion on a single military deal like MMRCA is not worth the investment now. The US carpet bombed Afghanistan with its "strategic bombers" and guess what? The Taliban are still there. And the Taliban are taking pot-shots at the US at longer ranges than the US M-16s can reach. The "body count" ratios can't look good if this keeps up. So someone is saying ...

It seems most of regular IA units have adopted the new camo. Why aren't the special forces not doing the same.
Or is the new camo only for the army...
Also SF equipped with Tar-21's fielded the old camo during R-day parade.

That looks like INSAS, from gun on right side we can see the trademark rifle holder over the translucent fiber magazine. The barrel seems to be too short for insas. It is Insas indeed. It appears the barrel is cut off in the picture. You can confirm this by looking at the scope mount of the rifle.
