Re: Small Arms Thread
While everybody is going for developing fancy cutting edge technology but it seems that Army is not interested in mandating DRDO to develop small arms requirements of India for almost 3 million miliaty and para military forces. I feel that NAL should go in for 50-70-90 seater with turboprop and jet engine variants.
While HAL should go in for MRTA plus futture replacement for An-32
lastly HAL + NAL should go in for 200 seater civilian aircraft in Airbus 300 category

Re: Indus Water Treaty
Repeating my question The obvious question would be that "why India did not design for sluice gates at the bottom". If the sluice gates are for emptying the dam and washing away the silt then that would have been better, isn't it? Won't the level upto the bottom of sluice gate sill / dead...

Re: LCH discussion
I think that LCH is a suberb achievement and HAL should start working on the future upgrade path. One of the most important upgrade path would be more powerful engine. Is there further planned "joint" upgrade for Shakti engine. I understand that this engine has potential for upgrade upto 1...

Re: LCH discussion
I think LCH is a good idea for a good combat helicopter reasonably well executed. I don't think specifications of Apache rolled into Comanche is possible in this weight class. It it a "light" combat helicopter and we will have to wait for some time till we graduate to "heavy" com...

I think that South Koreans are producing MTU 893 under license for their K-2. If they can get the license, why can't we? why do we need to import "huge initial batches? Because the Germans denied it to us. Even for direct import. We were stuck with the older version. Remember, SoKo is a US poo...

I started drawing a diagram of Baglihar and then I got it. Didn't quite tidy up the diagram, though. Only in one instance of objection was Pakistan after a smaller dam. In all other cases, it is not the amount of storage that worries Pakistan. It is India's leeway in varying the flow of the river. ...

Re: Armoured Vehicles Discussion Thread
I think if the idea is to change the engine of Arjun mark2 and upgrade it slightly then it would be easy and achievable. But if you want to convert it into FMBT (using US type FCS brochure) then it would be killing it. Just for your info, if mtu 838 powerpack is replaced by mtu 893 or equivalent the...
