The IAF exercised with RAF and USAF in 1963 in Operation Shikshak. The aftermath was the decision to upgrade the air defence Netwrok with radars etc. The idea was what role could the Western Air Forces in case of need for help against China. Needless to say not much.

Johann, there is a book "On the roof of the world" by George Pattersen(?). It chronicles some exploits of Khampa rebels. There was also an old Reader's Digest article in late sixties.
I would look for accounts of US personnel on this subject and not GOI and their OSA rules.

GD I saw the specs for the Dhruv for the IAF and IA version. Looks very good with 8 ATGMS and the 20mm cannon. Should make mincemeat of any TSP tanks. Some questions: - Why was the 20mm cannon chosen? - Was the 23mm gun of the Mi-35 too heavy? And does this mean IA/IAF have to get new 20mm ammo? - W...

Per Clausewitz, War is an extension of diplomacy. So just publishing the MoD and IA archives is not enough. One should be allowed to see the MEA and the political masters and how they performed. The explosions were conducted 1km apart and timed with .25 sec delay. The initial effects of the explosion are not detectable outside except for the cavity formation (by satellite pictures etc.) The seismic waves are of 1 hz to 10 Hz as Sunil says. Only the 1 Hz waves travel over teleseismic distane...
