Re: Indian Air Force News & Discussion - 15 Dec 2016

How can guys not like the lines of the MiG-29 Upgrade, it just looks so deadly. Looks like my friend who went to the gym and only exercised his back and shoulders. Talk about The Hunchback of Jamnagar... Question - how come the MiG-29K has a similar range to the UPG but doesn't have the ugly hump?

RVV-BD is an export variant of R-37M operation on Mig-31M for some time , There is not much difference other than RVV-BD is range restricted to 200Km over 300 km plus range of R-37M. RVV-BD has dual band seeker ( X/K ) and Dual Propulsion Motor Thanks for the clarification. Given that there's still...

Very interesting - first I've seen the RVV-BD on a Sukhoi. Is the missile actually in production let alone operational on the Su-35 or is this another "run it up the flagpole" exercise?

From the Week's interview with Dr Christopher: What about the towed guns? The army has not had a gun in the last quarter century. There are issues over range and accuracy, when developing a gun. Some thoughts: 1. The S400 is a mobile system, so systems facing Pakistan can be moved to the China front and vice-versa as per threat perception (a poor analogy, but Bofors artillery units were moved from the China border to the Paki front during the Kargil war).
