Karun Krishna"Jumbo"Majumdar happens to be my relative,his exploits are known to everyone,I have some pics which I guard as treasure.I feel proud as a Bengali and an Indian whenever his name comes up,there are some WWII heroes from RAF who remembers him and with much humility.

Right on Paul,any inspection was done with the gora elements in the Army,only Indian officers were inspected never the ordinary soldier,there were other discriminations also over pay,perks promotions etc.

That's a very good point Manjgu,the same applies to a Naval commando type raid on BARC Trombay by SSG(Naval Element)of PA.With lesser effort they can do a substantial damage to our assets.

Look at the assignment profile here,they are in escort/protection duty over here,SAGs are not allotted these type of duties,hence my conclusion,I maybe wrong though.

If anyone come accross the movie Unit9 you can have a fantastic idea how the Spetsnatz operated in Afghanistan,this trench digging thingy is shown as a part of their training,in 15 seconds a recruit have to dig a trench for himself before the tank passes over him,awesome!

All German gears,weapon systems etc were advanced for that age,a well thought out design being implemented by the Americans in the '80s became standard for all the NATO armies and other militaries including the PLA.
