Re: India-Russia: News & Analysis

Austinji - wasn't the SWIFT issue why India couldn't pay Iran for the oil we purchased, and had to work out some alternate arrangement through a desi bank in Kolkata? SWIFT is a protocol, in which there is a field for routing - to a bank. All you have to do is disable that routing number from your ...

Re: India-Russia: News & Analysis

There is no need to build a competing protocol to SWIFT. All one needs is a competing clearinghouse to process SWIFT traffic to a group of banks. One can retain the SWIFT protocol. Which is perhaps what Russia is doing, else no way she can build a competing system in a few months. Not possible. Sill...

Re: PAK-FA and FGFA Thread - June 2014

Not obvious at all. FGFA will not be OEM, for one (India has her own line and FGFA is nowhere near PAK-FA). And then there is no reason to add the LCA in the convo if it had no place. When does Putin arrive? Does not seem to be too much time to allow to make such heavy decisions. Something does not ...

Re: PAK-FA and FGFA Thread - June 2014

In that report it says MOD has asked for compressed schedule for FGFA and Rafale it does not seem to say anything specific about the rafale: Negotiations for the almost $20 billion MMRCA (medium multirole combat aircraft) project for 126 Rafale fighters, too, are stuck with France yet to accept ful...

Surveillance drones have taken pictures of the damage (that is the only way to asses damage - take pictures). They have not been released to the public. Although there was one source that claimed a few things - do not recall which thread.

Re: Indian Naval Discussion

Those nations that are willing to host the PLAN should have to pay a huge price. china will respond to such a move, but it has to be done. The statement of the chinese prez, on Indian soil, that they intend moving ahead with S. Asia, was a give away. India is not in their plan. And India has to reac...

Dassault could provide the know how for all technologies which could pave the way for the AMCA in a more distant furure. Any idea - details - of what these may be? There is a popular belief that claims the same. ToT for certain do not provide such techs, they go some way to help a tech backward cou...

From many press accounts of Cope Thunder the IAF Jags had penetrated the USAF defences and made strikes on ground targets. So, at Aero05, click around 500 with teh hope that 50 or so make the cut to be displayed on the web.
