Yes it's juggling too many balls, here the we have no experience developing AAMs from helicopters, Mistral is fully developed, so we can see what are the issues firing AAM, develop Prachand then integrate VSHORAD, like R 73 and Derby on Tejas before integrating Astra series.

Sorry I guess both posts came simultaneously, now looks like with K-4 launched from INS Arighaat, it is inducted in the fleet, our traid is going well. Chinese will have consider now as our weapons manufacturing capability takes off, there are huge consequences to arming Pakis and BD's

Our only hope is that there has been covert program using LSP's etc where the GE F404/F414 gets replaced by an alternative.

There is no way that Company/ Country like GE is struggling soo much for F404 engine, it is clearly well though decision not to supply.

Rudradev what you say also applies to the Paki Military and Nation as a whole, remove their comforts and leisure, remove the vast quantites of Chinese Europe and American funded weapons, Vehicles and Logistics and they will no better than the Taliban.

My Suggestion is that we quietly through our surveillance of Paki unit rotations and hit them on thier side of the Loc at the time of choosing with atleast 80-100 causalities with artillery, drones. I guess putting Shaheen missile is pretty explosive, so for few years it will be called Fateh 1 till it will be accepted it was a Shaheen, when they saw neither Drones, ACG 400, Shaheen wre getting through , the Pakis begged for ceasefire

One extreme way of understanding Trump was, India took Pakistani Pants off and were going to Nuke them in response to the intercepted Shaheen missile. I think firing of the Nuclear capable Shaheen missile was the trigger, GOI and Indian Armed forces were pretty charitable to the Pakis till then.

Astra Mark 2 missile range to be over 200 km, IAF to buy around 700 for fighter jet fleet

As per ANI unnamed Defense officials that DRDO and IAF have submitted a Proposal for 700 Missiles , Astra MK2 range extended beyond 200KM, I hope this is not delaying earlier plans for Astra Mk2 order

Also please note that US has included Pakistan in the Amraam C8/D3 Contract, so we need to start production and induction of Astra Mk2, Astra Mk3 along with other countermeasures otherwise this will bite us in 2028-30 timeframe.

This good news, IAF should also use these to take out Drones, PGM's etc from hitting High value Targets in addition to SAM's, Manpads etc.

My wish list is that we convert some of the GSH 30mm Mig 27 cannons to be ground Vehicle Mounted and unleash them on the LOC/ IB

There is something happening behind the scenes, no way with GE F404 poor delivery we are staking another 97 Aircraft to be tied to that Engine. We are stupid but not that stupid.
