WhatsApp, Telegram etc. communications are encrypted end-to-end IIUC and thus cannot be monitored in the usual way. One way out would be to do what the Chinese are doing--armtwist the app vendors like FB into running a monitorable version for India. It could be done in a way that is compatible with...

I am actually hyped for this deal. Not for the Nuke part but for ToT in pumpjet propulsion and SF insertion tube. The pumpjet propulsion would be huge step up from Russi subs blade propulsion in stealth and speed. And SF insertion capability for a quick subterfuge would be a nightmare for the Pakis....

Gyan ji, I do not think the report is incorrect. INSAS used to cost 50k at 2010 price. OFB must be adding inflation to it. Also remember as per report R2 costs around 75k/piece so I am not amazed if OFB is asking 60-65k/piece for the INSAS. Also any rifle purchase is incomplete without those accesso...

I would like to think nobody in the world is going to part with their TFTA technology, and it doesn't matter however much we pay them. IMO a better deal would be to just buy 54+spare(or however many we can afford) Rafales as G2G, close the MMRCA tamasha, and ask Dassault to form a JV with HAL or any...

Kerala Police buying 500 INSAS for 3.6 Crores!!!! As per my madrassa math cost of each rifle comes to be >$1000. Also as per some discussions on the SM, the model is INSAS 1B1 with the folding butt. There is never a hard and fast rule of how the AC is going to operate. Even the UK with its dwindling budgets plans on maintaining a fleet of at least 80 (though announced plans are closer to 100) F-35B's to support 2 aircraft-carriers so it is entirely justifiable for the IN to look to build a fleet of about 100 naval fighters for its two carriers while preparing for...
