Why is dada speaking up for Sree ? Has Sree made any impact in any ODIs with bowling or batting ? Tests are another matter.

Is dada going to be picked up by Kochi in some role ?

thriller
Harbhajan is an allrounder, but we don't add pressure on him telling him that he is an all rounder. We know that he can be destructive with the bat.
what bhajji does not know he is an all rounder :(( :((
Smith: Very very disappointed, we were 20 runs short. Smith: Very very disappointed, we were 20 runs short
IOW we are aggressive chokers
Botha to Nehra, FOUR!!, India win another close game and for the first time in history, they take a lead in an ODI series in SA! It's Nehra who seals it in style, goes over mid on, gets the middle of the bat and disappointment is written all over the faces of the Proteas, not fair to call them chokers, it was the Indians this time, who snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, Yusuf and Bhajji, the saviours for India @ 100.44 kmph
trying to soften the blow.
Parnell to Nehra, no run, Nehra is wearing M Vijay's jacket and he is playing better than him, good looking forward defense that @ 137.52 kmph

Murali Vijay and Ashwin have K. Srikanth actively lobbying for them. Good thing that we won't have the pleasure of watching Mr. Pujara.

While Ashwin deserves a decent chance, I think Vijays reached the end of the long rope. I'm not sure his selection in another series can be justified given his performance so far. Maybe a succesful IPL and he can be considered.

Pujara is better than Murali Vijay any day. Ashwin should be handy in sub-continental conditions. TI can play two spinners and two medium pacers with Sehwag, desi Sobers, Pathan/Raina bowling the rest of the overs if it seems to be a slow turning pitch. Assuming everyone's fit, my ideal team would be..

Sehwag
God
Gambhir
Kohli
Pathan
Yuvraj/Raina
Dhoni
Bhajji
Zak
Pravin Kumar/Nehra
Ashwin/Munna Bhai :((

He had a very successful IPL 3. That is why he was given several chances. He did not deliver. Most of our youngistanis have pathetic ODI averages.

i have seen some games of ashwin. he has a cool head and is quite foxy/useful. + dhoni has seen and commanded him with CSK.

temperament wise i think he is quite good for his age. most spinners peak > 25. swann > 30 and is peaking only now.

So, if not dhoni there is no ashwin as well. I agree vijay has shot himself on the foot. He was terrific here last season. so is rohit, and all these wonderful bats perhaps spoiling their good chances.

I also wish s tiwary may get a chance.

^ What is with Desi Sobers. Can't play Fast bowling. Can't play spinners..
His time is running out and soon he will be competing with Pujara and co. for a place in ODI team too.

Did someone see Chahar bowling in Ranji Finals. Man this kid can swing the bowl like bowlers of yesteryears. Only if he had pace to match with it.

When the clock ticks past the Midnight hour and Traditional Indian fan in India goes to sleep, TI awakes and beat RSA from most improbale of Situations.

When the Desi Mujahid wakes up with dread scanning news channels and watches the Highlighs, viola the enemy citadel has been conquered.

8) Parthiv Patel, who came in as replacement for Sachin Tendulkar, might take M Vijay's opening slot.
btw, who is better to contain during slog: nehra or chawla ?

DO you want 10 runs per over in the slog overs or 20? Based on IPL , Chawla goes for a lot more runs, but Nehra will not be economical. SO your question should who will leak more runs, Nehra or Chawla.

Dhoni, Please give Sreesanth a try in the last 2 one dayers. My pet wish is that soem Medium pacer(apart from Zaheer Khan) gets injured before semi-final of world cup and Parathan and Zaheer bowl out the opposition in the Semis and the Finals.

if chawla gives 20 runs per over and takes couple of wickets, then he is more likely candidate for ODI.

I tell you all that kerala black magic is for nothing. What came as a vision is but close to happening unless politics gets the upper hand. ;-)

Will Kolkata's Prince be Kochi king?
Team Kochi, which will be making its IPL debut in the ensuing T20 event, have belatedly realised their folly and are keen to take Ganguly on board. The Kochi management, who clearly showed no aptitude for team composition and failed to net a single capped Indian batsman other than VVS Laxman, have approached the Governing Council to allow them to sign the former India captain. However, they can do so only if the other nine franchises raise no objection to this out-of-auction deal.

The BCCI, on its part, has no objection. "If the franchises have no objection, why should we stand in any player's way to play in the IPL? However, there is no question of bending the rule or making an exception," said a Governing Council member.

I have another suggestion plus a post count++.

If the team has not selected a flag then it should be the 'ArivaaL Chuttika' and team should be named the 'Kochi commies', that should send the usual suspects all frothing. :P

Variations could be:

1) Kochi Commies
2) Kochi Commie Kings
2) Kochi Commies & Kings

And the flag a bloody red in color or all green !

Yes Kochi Kommunists would be a good name. It would also infuriate KKR management. They would probably change their name to Kolkata Marxists to go one up on Kochi. :P

KKK vs KKR would make a nice show. I wonder if all the Bong fans can be bought over too. ;-) One can of course instigate and say no bongs are in KKR anyways. Too bad Dravid is not available, or it can end up as a senior team and get BRF support too who hate youngistanis.
