Has the NIA solved any case so far after being setup with so much fanfare/hungama post 26/11 attack?

also that DNA report is very sloppy. The headline does not match the content of what was actually found.

This is turning Ugly, somebody has done somthing really wrong. If the MP police has destroyed evidence it is truly shameful, However, if the NIA does not have evidence to back up the charges of its Political masters and DDM parroting it then it shows the whole fight against terrorism has been compramised and it is nothing but a Political entity.

The best one can hope for in this mess is to let to let the investigators and Judiciary do their job , scumbag politicians always want to play games over dead bodies. Just today I saw this news about Samajwadi party having a dharna demanding bail for muslims accused in ajmer, malegaon blasts.

When politics is involved then everything seems to get messed up and common people get swept away in their own emotional prejudices, perhaps there ought to be some sort of a law debarring political speech in any way referring to blasts or terror related incidents.

India arrests three Chinese on suspicion of spying
LUCKNOW (Reuters) – Three Chinese nationals have been arrested on suspicion of money laundering and spying on border security camps along India's northern borders, police said on Wednesday.

The arrests were made in Uttar Pradesh close to India's border with Nepal. Local police chief Sanjay Kakkar told Reuters the accused, including a woman, said they were employees of Chinese telecoms equipment maker, Huawei Technologies.

The arrests come a few weeks after Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao visited India in a display of warmth that, however, failed to lift the veil of suspicion between the two nations or resolve a disputed border, a legacy from their brief 1962 war.

"We arrested them for trespassing as we found them on Indian soil without a valid Indian visa," Kakkar said, adding the three were caught taking photographs of border guards installations.

"We are suspecting their involvement in some money laundering activity as they were carrying Indian PAN (tax document) cards in their names."

Huawei's spokesman in India, Suresh Vaidyanathan, said the company was aware of the arrests and "are cooperating fully with local authorities to determine the facts."
Is this creepy or what?
Chinese Huwawei employees supposed to be in Nepal ( doing what??) caught near a SSB camp with camera and Indian PAN cards!!?

All samjauta, aseemanand, sunil, pragya, modi riot news will be there till the elections are over. See how selectively the subjidice matters are 'leaked'. sarkar aur uske paaltu kutte selectively publish the news. Govt dont confirm dont deny about the leaks. Astonishingly no news or leask are there about confession of Afjal guru, Kasab etc.

^ Both reports have been published on the first page of The Indian Express and The Hindustan Times. On the other hand, Dainik Hindustan (in Hindi, sister publication of The Hindustan Times) did not publish these on its first page. I have noticed that Hindi newspapers are mainly concerned about economic and law and order issues. J&K and other issues are not given much prominence.

SC decries forceful religious conversions

New Delhi: The Supreme Court, while upholding life imprisonment for Dara Singh and Mahendra Hembram, main accused in the killing of Australian missionary Graham Staines and his two sons in Orissa's Koenjhar district in January 1999, also came down heavily on Christian missionaries for indulging in forceful conversions.

The bench of justices P Sathasivam and BS Chauhan observed that there cannot be any justification for interference in someone's belief while decrying forceful conversions. While delivering the verdict in the murder case on Friday the court observed that investigations reveal that Staines was involved in conversions and there are materials to suggest that the missionaries were indulging in forceful conversion in the area.

Dara Singh's lawyer SS Mishra said that the missionaries were indulging in forceful conversions and his client just wanted to threaten them and not kill Staines.

"There are materials which suggest that forceful conversion was there. However, so far as the material for conviction is concerned Supreme Court maintained the judgement of the High Court. There is no direct evidence, no one had seen crime done by accused. It appears that they had gone to threaten and teach them a lesson and not kill Staines," said Mishra.

Staines and his two sons, Philip (10) and Timothy (6) were burnt to death while they were sleeping inside a van outside a church at Manoharpur village in Koenjhar district of Orissa on January 22, 1999 by Dara Singh and Mahendra Hembram.

Both Singh and Hembram have been sentenced to life in the case.

EU to send observers for Sen's trial
The European Union and some of its member-States will send representatives as “observers” during the January 24 hearing of human rights activist Binayak Sen's bail application in the Chhattisgarh High Court at Bilaspur.

Talking to The Hindu at an informal interaction here, Daniele Smadja, Ambassador, Head of Delegation of the European Union (EU) to India, said that apart from the EU, individual member-States such as Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark, Hungary, the United Kingdom and Sweden would send their observers for the hearing.

“There are EU guidelines on human rights defenders. We give utmost attention to cases of individuals involved in the upholding of human rights. We have informed the Indian government of the decision to send observers,” she remarked.

Ms. Smadja said she was mandated by her colleagues in the EU to take up the matter. She had written to Chhattishgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh and the National Human Rights Commission, expressing concern about the condition of Dr. Sen, who is now under detention. “We have reasons to believe that his condition has deteriorated,” she said.

Dr. Sen's wife had also got in touch with them and the EU was in close contact with his lawyer. “We have noticed the mobilisation of the civil society groups in India and the EU having expressed concern over the issue,” she added.
Well, the source of Dr. Sen's funding and the countries involved in the remote parts of India with the missionaries are getting clearer...

Am only hoping that MHA puts its foot down and shows EU its place..

The darkest of all conspiracies

Hindu terror” and “Saffron terror” are terms concocted on the basis of weak evidence by a discredited, corrupt political elite which thinks nothing of sacrificing human lives for petty electoral gains. But how long can you fool all the people?

Since the formation of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) in 2004 there has been a marked rise in the number of sleeper modules of jihadi organisations across India. The high priority accorded by UPA-1 to the repeal of the Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2002, had a significant bearing on the career of Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).
This terrorist group, which acted on direct orders of the Lashkar- e-Tayyeba (LeT) found the latitude accorded by a pseudo-secular regime in Delhi to reinvent itself as “Indian Mujahideen”, “Deccan Mujahideen” and “Popular Front of India.”
Between 2004 and 2008 terrorist strikes either in the form of bomb blasts or sudden attacks by armed jihadis, became almost a monthly affair. The incompetence of the UPA government in fighting terror was exposed.
The Maharashtra ATS led by Hemant Karkare conducted political investigations into the Malegon blasts and exposed itself through select arrests and selective leakages of investigations to the media. In order to add weight to its claims, the ATS opined that the same accused were also involved in the Ajmer, Hyderabad Mecca Masjid and Samjhauta Express blasts. The credibility of the investigations vanished when its bluff on “Sadhvi’s motorcycle” “Colonel Purohit’s RDX” failed to impress the nation, despite the support of a conniving mainstream media. The credibility hit rock bottom when the ATS came out with the story that the Malegon accused had also conspired to kill RSS leaders.
Even while the 26/11 attack was raging, a ‘Hindu-Zionist’ conspiracy theory was concocted and spread through the Internet. Suspicion was engendered that the fall of ATS chief Karkare to a hail of terrorist bullets was actually a “Hindu-Zionist” job, carried out to get even with him for carrying out the Maelgon probe. Abdul Rehaman Antulay, the then Minority Affairs Minister, became the first official personality to spread this canard. Congress bigwig leaders like Digvijay Singh and Shakeel Ahmed came out openly in support of Antulay. Abishek Manu Singhvi, the party’s high-profile spokesman, said: “BJP has advantages and will gain from the terror attack.” The then Home Minister of Maharashtra, RR Patil, opined that Karkare had met him on the fateful evening and complained bitterly about the RSS for focusing on its ‘role’ in the Malegon blast. The same lie was sought to be spread by Digvijay Singh.
The HRD Minister, Kapil Sibal, said after Karkare’s death: “The terrorists knew exactly whom they were targeting.” The then Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Vilasrao Deshmukh, hurt the sentiments of the people by commenting that only 200 deaths had resulted in 26/11 which was insignificant compared to Mumbai’s population of more than 1.5 crore. But Congess leader Narayan Rane hit out at his colleague’s irresponsible statements and revealed that some of them had indeed financed terrorists and provided terrorists safe haven in the country. He accepted full responsibility for this statement and added that he would provide all the details with proof at the “appropriate time.”

Statements such as this by Congress and UPA leaders in various media might have sounded like Freudian slips, but they have assumed special importance over time, perhaps in direct proportion to the revelations of corruption perpetrated by the Congress leaders. Corruption is a way of life in India’s grand old party. With so many scams being blown in recent months by a media elite which has suddenly rediscovered its conscience, the Congress has been left with no alternative but add fuel to the fire under the old communal pot.
During the DGP’s Conference in August 2010, Home Minister P Chidambaram audaciously warned about a “new phenomenon” called “saffron terror”. This was around the time when the Commonwealth Games scam was being blown in the national media and the global image of the nation taking a hit. The Congress could think of no other diversionary tactic but raise the “Hindu terror” scepter because that was the only way it could remind its ‘reliable’ voters that at the end of the day only one thing mattered in India — the perceived “safety” of Islam. When Chidambaram faced criticism for mouthing such objectionable lies, he refused to yield. Rather, he had the audacity to say that his remark had brought the message home and that its “purpose” had been served. It was no secret to anybody what that “purpose” was. The demonification of Hindutva forces.

In early December, when the people of India were shaken of confidence in their nation by the magnitude of the UPA’s scams, the Congress organised a plenary session to celebrate the 150th year of the founding of the Indian National Congress — an organisation with which it has no organic or inorganic linkage. At that event, Sonia Gandhi made sure not to mention the corruption and nepotism with which her family enterprise had come to be identified. Instead, she chose to hit out at the RSS; linking it with “Hindu terror”. Pranab Mukherjee contributed his mite to the foul atmosphere. Rahul Gandhi, who was partying at the wedding of his friend’s son while Mumbai was under attack by jihadi terrorists, equated the RSS with SIMI. When the entire nation protested in one voice against his position, Rahul neither repented nor withdrew his words. Later, Wikileaks revealed that he was indeed damaging India in the international arena by serving the cooked-up story of Hindu terror. He had talked about a “bigger” threat to jihadism emanating from “radicalised Hindu groups”. United States Ambassador Timothy Roemer made a note of this which Wikileaks revealed.
One should not make the mistake of assuming that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is aloof from all this. In fact, he was the first to talk about Hindu terror. While on board a special aircraft to Havana in the immediate aftermath of the September 2008 Malegon blasts, he had said: “Involvement of Hindu fundamentalist outfits cannot be ruled out”. From that point on, it was a consistent Congress policy to pin the blame for blasts in Muslim-dominated neighbourhoods on Hindus. It is based on the assumption that jihadi groups, being peopled by Muslims, do not target fellow Muslims. This attacks the universal, politically correct axiom that terrorists are religion neutral. The double face of the Congress was exposed at this point itself.

The National Investigation Agency, to please its political masters, foolishly opposed the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the US Department of Treasury which have identified LeT with Samjhauta and other terror attacks in India. American investigators have also established the involvement of LeT and HUJI (Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami) behind the Mecca Masjid blasts. Moreover, many journalists have vouched for the character of Swami Aseemananda. Now, the NIA’s job has become more complicated, for it has to prove UNSC, the US Treasury Department and other credible agencies wrong.
The Congress and its pseudo-secular allies have a dangerous agenda. They want to protect their vote banks by diluting the fight against jihad and evangelisation. “Hindu terror” and “saffron terror” are nothing but aspects of a conspiracy to emasculate and destroy the idea of India.

congress sarkar at centre should send human rights teams to Europe to study how EU continues to commit torture on people and still be called as the champion of human rights

Rendition flights of terror suspects and their torture in european countries should be studied and questions should be asked in public how the EU can manage to have modern day Gulags and yet pretend to be a champion of human rights of terrorists in other countries

why is EU so concerned about a person involved in destruction of the democratic state of India and known for propagating extremist views in public. sabotaging democracy and imposition of terrorist commie ideology may pave the way for return of european colonalism in India.

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - A growing scandal over Hindu militants linked to bombings in India has highlighted how the ruling Congress party and the main opposition are increasingly exchanging bitter barbs ahead of key state elections this year.

Congress, stung by graft allegations and food inflation that have hit its approval ratings, hopes to gain the initiative over the Bharatya Janata Party (BJP) after a report linking alleged Hindu militant bombers with its ideological parent organization.

The stakes for Asia's third largest economy are huge.

Congress depends on regional parties from West Bengal and Tamil Nadu for its majority parliamentary coalition. Any failure in those state elections may hurt Congress's ability to hold its coalition together ahead of a 2014 general election.

At the weekend, the BJP pledged to make corruption its election plank, scenting victory after a $39 billion telecoms scandal sparked the firing of a minister belonging to Congress's Tamil Nadu ally, weakening the coalition.

Hindu terrorism- a journalist agenda
Many of these journalists are not interested in analysing this phenomenon and the investigation made so far. They are only interested in exploiting it to suit their own agenda.
This pernicious practice of agenda and motivated journalism, which came to the fore during the recent dissemination---one does not know even now by who and why--- of the tapped conversations of Niira Radia, the lobbyist, has acquired new dimensions in the wake of the leak of the confession made by the Swami.
I now sense a new wave of anger in sections of the Hindu community over what they perceive as attempts being made by the Congress (I) and some agenda journalists to exploit the confession of the Swami to divert attention from the serious threat of jihadi terrorism that we still face and to whitewash the horrendous crimes of the jihadi terrorists, including the July 2006 explosions in some suburban trains of Mumbai and even the 26/11 terrorist strikes.

Remember when they blamed modi for delaying calling for central help for '3 days'? Those three days were from Feb 28 to March 1. They forgot that February only has 28 days, there were no Feb 29 or 30 on which Modi delayed taking action.

any link that states that? i dont want links from "Gujarat riots myth and reality " web. need from some main stream media where this can be substantiated.
purohit and team were arrested for Malegaon 2008. But Aseemanand's 'confession' has apparently put the blame for Malegaon 2006 on Sunil Joshi & others...
sorry i could not understand are u linking Aseemanand & purohit into one team?

Three references. I think the press took the three day delay in 1984 and used it in the Gujarat case, because post-1984 Congress agencies (CBSE, NCERT) had secular schools teach that a 3 day delay was inevitable.

Modi government delayed taking a decision on calling in the Army — the first columns reached Ahmedabad 48 hours after the train carnage sparked off retaliatory violence.
http://svaradarajan.blogspot.com/2010/0 ... -stop.html
Why was the Army not called out immediately and why was there a delay in its deployment when it finally reached Ahmedabad?
The Gujarat Carnage
Then again, why did the government take nearly three days to deploy troops from the army's southern command in Gujarat?

Top Naga leaders in Delhi
New Delhi, Jan 23 (PTI) Two top Naga rebel leaders today hinted at some progress in the ongoing talks on the vexed Naga issue, saying they acknowledged Government''s "positive" attitude in finding a lasting solution.
NSCN(IM) chairman Isak Chisi Swu said the rebel leadership was in the country at the invitation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for peace dialogue and hoped that the Centre would keep its promise that any agreement with the outfit would reflect the "unique history" of the Nagas.
"We are committed to an honourable, just and lasting solution," Swu said addressing a function here organized to welcome his visit.
Swu arrived in New Delhi yesterday after a gap of more than a year and also accepted Indian passport for the first time. So far, he was reportedly carrying the passport of a neighbouring nation.
The Naga leader said he welcomed the Indian governments positive attitude towards the ongoing talks between the group and the interlocutor R S Pandey.
"I thank the Government of India for this initiative and hope that they would not miss the opportunity, he said adding "we acknowledge the positive attitude and effort of the government for creating such a conducive atmosphere".
Admitting that there were differences among Nagas, he said reconciliation among them was the need of the hour.
Addressing the gathering, NSCN(IM) general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah too said the discussions held so far were "positive" and hoped the Centre would do the needful by recognising the Naga identity and in bringing a lasting solution to the six decade-old insurgency problem in Nagaland.
The Naga group has been holding parleys with interlocutor Pandey to iron out differences on several vexed issues including integration of Naga-inhabited areas.
In the last meeting, the NSCN-IM has proposed a federal relationship with the Indian Union with additional financial and legislative powers while the Central government offered financial package for socio-cultural development of Naga people.
Seems to be HUGE news. Is this the beginning of the end of the Naga issue?

This is so dissapointing, here is a perfectly good man , very well educated praising the work of another honest man as the CM without any bias and yet he has to backtrack on that praise now given the influence of "mullah power" , the deoband and brevali (spell) have been shitting on muslims for a long time, they want to keep a large section of the community youth illetrate (modern education) but still aware (of modified Islam), some of them , then go on to have extremist tendencies which provides the mullas their power source as they claim victamization and discrimination against muslims and act as the sole benefator for all Indian Muslims.

Deoband is a huge threat to Internal security and so is the State where it comes from i.e. Uttar Pradesh. It's like a country on it's own and so much political power is concentrated there that it becomes homes to all kinds of divisive political games amongst parties.

If GoI wants better Internal security scenario than trifurcation of UP is a very good start, better administration, less political power and scattered community segments will help bring down crime rates drastically.

Aseemanand versus United Nations
[/b]

I have never heard that CBI as a credible Investigative agency cracked any case, specially terrorism realted as a credible and efficient organisation. From collecting evidence to protecting a crime scene , or even registering the serial records of their investigations using forensic and lab datas etc, whole coordinative approach and discipline are seriously missing. Apart from all that, no body should also deny compulsive pressure from the corrupt political leaders suspiciously connected with the gangstars and the underworlds including Pak based criminals like Dawood & gang etc. And multiplied this with lack of co-ordination among the agencies headed by egoistic head with very poor sense of modern acceptability of scientific approach and upgrading the system etc So the rate of conviction most of the cases are almost negligible . under this scenario to protect their their questionable credibility became the easy target of exploitation by the ruling party converting this organisation as a handy tool to further their mean or even anti-national political agenda reducing this agency's important role as guidance, protectorate of national security to a mere useless investigative agency for the sake of it. The use of this agency to justify "Hindu terror' is one such example. RG's deep rooted dynastic hatred against the Hindus and the civilisation accidentally leaked through WIKI became more jealously compulsive for the CBI to come on heavily to this frail ,anti-conversationalist Hindu Bengali monk Assemananda using as the prefect scapegoat to sacrifice to bring credibility to the outrageous comment made by a man who is completely naked by any measure except his borrowed last name "Gandhi".
The confessions of the arrested Swami are contradictory to UN and US findings, writes rajinder puri

Last Saturday, accused Hindu terrorist Swami Aseemanand repeated before a magistrate his assertion that Hindutva radicals perpetrated the Samjhauta Express bomb blast. His confession made before the magistrate was recorded under Section 164 of the CRPC by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) which is probing the Samjhauta terror attack. That Hindu terrorists were involved in other terror strikes is entirely credible. But surely their involvement in the Samjhauta blast raises contradictions that cannot be swept under the carpet. However, the NIA appears to be proceeding with its probe on the basis of the Swami’s confession without a second thought. And most of the national media appears to be equally comfortable with the probe as it unfolds.
Should not at this early stage the findings of the US treasury department as well as the United Nations (UN) be also considered for uncovering the truth? In 2009, the US treasury department imposed sanctions on four Lashkar-e-Taiyyaba (LeT) operatives for organising the Samjhauta blast. The four named were Arif Qasmani, Fazeel-A-Tul Shaykh Abu Mohammed Ameen al-Peshawari, Mohammed Yahya Mujahid and Nasir Javaid. The US treasury stated: “The designated individuals have provided direct support to Al Qaida and LeT and have facilitated terrorist attacks, including the July 2006 train bombing in Mumbai.”
That is not all. The UN endorsed the US treasury findings on the basis of the evidence collected. On 29 June, the 1267 committee of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), which mandated sanctions on the Al Qaida and the Taliban, froze assets, banned travel and imposed an arms embargo on Arif Qasmani, a Karachi businessman who it described as the “chief coordinator” for the Lashkar’s links with outside groups. It claimed that Qasmani provided “significant support for LeT terrorist operations.” In its Press release, the 1267 committee stated: “Qasmani has worked with LeT to facilitate terrorist attacks, to include the July 2006 train bombing in Mumbai, India, and the February 2007 Samjhauta Express bombing in Panipat, India. Qasmani utilised money that he received from Dawood Ibrahim, an Indian crime figure and terrorist supporter, to facilitate the July 2006 train bombing in Mumbai, India…Arif Qasmani has also provided financial and other support to Al Qaida.” According to the UN in return for providing support “Al Qaida provided Qasmani with operatives to support the July 2006 train bombing in Mumbai, India, and the February 2007 Samjhauta Express bombing in Panipat, India.”
The above assertions by the UN seem to be explicit enough. So what do these assertions make of Aseemanand’s confession? One presumes that the NIA and the national media are interested in uncovering the truth about the Samjhauta blast. Then why is so little attention being paid to the earlier assertions of the US treasury and the UN? If Aseemanand is correct, the UN was wrong. If the UN was correct, Aseemanand is wrong. Can such a glaring contradiction be ignored in any credible investigation? Surely the public deserves some explanation right away.

That being the case, why should be a "certificte" from the head of such an outfit be so important? Its an old habit of the Indian political class - trying to curry favour with the most regressive and obscurantist elements of the theocracy in the belief that they carry their"community"...Rajiv Gandhi thought Syed Shahabuddin (and not Arif Mohd Khan) carried the community - he amended the muslim divorce law..He also thought that the "temple"-walahs carry the hindus - he opened the gates in Ayodhya...Mulayam thinks only the maulanas carry the muslims in UP...ABV talked of appointing "1 crore madrassa teachers" during the 2004 election campaign..BJP defended "divinity" (LKA's words) to the rule of law in the Kanchi Shankaracharya case, as they thought that he "carries" the hindus....And now this barelvi character was sought to be the "muslim certificate" for Narendra Modi!

these politicians are way out of touch with real India, where urbnisation and prosperity is creting more clusters of cosmopolitanism rather than obscurantism...

HC allows EU team to attend hearing in Binayak Sen's case
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/indi ... 354154.cms

Givewn that our Courts are now answerable to EU and EU so intrested in Maoist convictions 2 things are apparent

1) we are no longer an independant country since all our COurts - Officials are answerable to EU. Are Indian observers allowed for any EU cases?

2) The EU interest shows who really backs the Maoists and why the Delhi based Media-NGO crowd love the Maoists.

Let's not go overboard. The EU jerks are 'observers' though I wouldn't put it beyond them to actually try to actively interfere in court proceedings. A tactic to apply their soup-e-rear moral pressure, perhaps. That would be a good time to ban their arses from showing up in Indian courtrooms after that, like, ever after.

Ideally, GoI should send observers to France, Romania, Slovakia, Germany and other oirostani countries to 'observe' EU treatment of the Roma people and send planeloads of delegations from Deoband and Bareilly to observe the curious phenomenon of islamophobia in UKstan. But trust our sarkar to miss every opportunity only.

No that would hurt the sentiments of the EU people and they might not invest (keep the Swiss bank accts secret) in India. So take the inslut and move along for e-Con-omy.

If the court hold or double Sen's punishment then may be, may be many desi bees working for Goras might get the message that even the white man wont be able save their skin if and when India wants to punish them. The result can go either way .

Make sure to conduct the court in May-June-July and fan is available only for the Judge.
- Observers can not bring anything to court. No camera, recorders or laptop. Can't take notes inside the court.
- No preference for Binayak Sen's case. File will be taken up only when its turn arrives.
- It has to be observed how they are trying to study how Binayak was nailed down. They will try to fix that gap with their next agent.

If Moloy Dhar speaks words of sanity, you should read his book on what the "sane" leaders of a particular types were doing in the '90s....And also his opinion on the Ekta Yatra verI..

Parts of it are good...but there are other larger parts which seem like a load of BS...

Example being this == out here
I have studied and still studying myriads of websites and print media patronized by the Hindu protagonists from India and abroad. These are not less virulent than the sites propagated by al Qaeda, Muslim Brotherhood and other the jihadi Muslim groups (about 1000)
