Re: The Cricket Thread
This world cup is the most boring world cup ever. I feel like kicking ICC. And I am not alone. Everyone I have talked to feels same.
Re: The Cricket Thread
Why can't they have two group stage matches involving minnows in one day and get it over with?
Re: The Cricket Thread
There could be many reasons for this: Rising popularity of T20, IPL, Overdose of matches (Seriously, why was recent India-NZ series required?)R_Kumar wrote:This world cup is the most boring world cup ever. I feel like kicking ICC. And I am not alone. Everyone I have talked to feels same.
Re: The Cricket Thread
"Integrity" Ponting will either deny it or say its normal.
The team should be made to pay for the smashed LCD at a min.

Re: The Cricket Thread
holland seem to be a useful looking set of lads. 174/4 in 34 so far vs angrez.
Re: The Cricket Thread
Dutchies really pumping it up...210/4 in 42.
Re: The Cricket Thread
What happened to their reverse swing?47.6 Anderson to Borren, FOUR!!, Anderson is trying his everything but Borren is just too good for him,
47.5 Anderson to Borren, FOUR!!, a bouncer and same result! Borren upper cuts it over short third man, boundaries are coming at will and the Dutch captain is playing a fine little cameo
47.4 Anderson to Borren, FOUR!!, that's presence of mind at display from Borren! He was looking to clear his front leg and crack that through the cover region, changes his mind and just uses the pace of the ball to help it between the keeper and short third man

Re: The Cricket Thread
Broad to Borren, 1 no ball, finally Broad goes full and straight and he's rewarded again with a wicket. Borren giving himself room but it wasn't short so his attempted flay never got near. Excellent cameo knock though from the captain. Hold on, what's going on here!? Borren has stopped going off and he's survived! England only had three inside the circle so it's a no ball! Dear oh dear, the wheels are off and England are a shambles.

England will win onlee

Re: The Cricket Thread
Cricinfo
England need 293 to beat Netherlands. Well, England have caught the Dutch disease again. Ryan ten Doeschate was magnificent, as inspirationally brilliant as England were dreadful. The fielding was shabby, the bowling all over the place but it was the pressure Netherlands put on them that backed them into that corner. Incredible stuff, coming into the tournament England would have though of themselves as the best fielding unit in the world but this display was the worst I've seen in years
Re: The Cricket Thread
hooyeah sir.

Brit pacquis are smashing the Dutch pacquis....

Re: The Cricket Thread
Sometimes he would hit a ball and will walk close to the bowler and spit on the ground near him. The west Indian decline has resulted in the white pacqui haughtiness.partha wrote:Viv Richards profile from Cricinfo

my paisa on Bangladesh to beat english paqis in this world cup
Re: The Cricket Thread
Loving the Dutch! that is a good fight they are putting up against an established team.
Re: The Cricket Thread
Given Collingwood's preference to leg side, might they wanna bowl round the wicket to him? he is going outside the off stump and trying to score cheek boundaries on the leg. Of course it has to do with the field placement as well..
Re: The Cricket Thread
Great fight from the dutch but to no avail! All over for them.
