The Cricket World Cup Thread
Re: The Cricket Thread
Someone said Yuvi is becoming India's Afridi. I hope not. (batting wise)
Re: The Cricket Thread
Well I hope Chawla gets a kick now. He shouldn't be in team India. and Ashwin comes in.
Re: The Cricket Thread
On a side note I hope his bowling well boosts his batting confidence.
Re: The Cricket Thread
watching for the first time being a holiday,
SA being an agressive choker- congrats and hope they maintain the momentum.
There is no other team more apt for it. Augurs well for TI.
India will lose onlee todin

Re: The Cricket Thread
208 to win. come on TI
Re: The Cricket Thread
Whatever drawbacks yuvraj and raina have, they are still assets. The same can't be said about munna, and definitely not chawla. Dhoni perhaps is experimenting still, but he is doing it dangerously annoying every ego on the field and the game as possible.
Re: The Cricket Thread
We have a good opportunity to win this and up our NRR

stain less moorkhs finally got bored. Dhoni must be happy to note that since he was clueless to watch a video how with his munna brand bowlers can bore into ingiland that they were struggling to do so.
we desperately need a good bowler.. perhaps deepak chahar could warm up and get some good guidance to join TI in the near future.

Re: The Cricket Thread
If Chawla goes for 7 rpo on a turning pitch without wickets against Ireland, there is something seriously wrong with him.
Re: The Cricket Thread
IMO chawla is lacking control .
Today he bowled some very good balls (unlucky to miss on few wickets) and then messed up with unbelievably bad ones.
He should be dropped for few matches to get some practice in controlling his balls better.
Ultimately if he gets his act together, he could be the permanent guy (leg spinner) with ashwin and bhajji competing for the offspinner slot.
my do sikka onlee.

Re: The Cricket Thread
As long as bhajii is there we would not miss chawla imho. For ODIs, if we have batsmen like raina, yuvi and pathan doing the spinning, is more than enough.
Raina needs to get his electric fielding and correction to his batting techniques, especially weak ones shown against SA and NZ. He is a player if kept in bench strength shows dhonism on the wrong side.

India will break a record alright, but it will ne for fastest 10 wicket fall.
let the gawd help us!
Re: The Cricket Thread
I still don't understand why the frakk is Chawla in the team?

Re: The Cricket Thread
hey guys any good link to watch it live on internet ?
Re: The Cricket Thread
@Martenullah, by default am in no position to watch the match via streaming- so in a wayMarten wrote:krisna, go back to work yaar. TI is trying its best to make this difficult. Not an anti-jinx, but I suspect we're going to lose a tight match. Yuvi will still have many overs to shine, but one suspects he will excel only in one discipline on a given day.
Saik, stop blaspheming. God will have to get out soon and sit in the pavilion to join yourmedicationmeditation and prayers.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Yeah yeah! get Deepak Chahar into the side, how could the selectors miss him? and Badrinath and Pujara before him? weren't they reading the cricket thread on BRF after using some highly specialised suppandi gibberish deciphering code.

Re: The Cricket Thread
I'm beginning to see some merit in Dhoni's reluctance to play an extra bowler. We are lucky that it is Ireland against which we have lost 2 quick wickets. If this happens in a crunch game while chasing then it could be the end of the road for us. There is no earth-e-shattering bowler at his disposal that he can bring in to replace the 7th batsman. Appam god is a scratch-card lottery, he will give you something one game out of five and his chances of playing depend heavily on the captain's hunch. Wonder how some of the highly regarded captains of the past would have dealt with Appam God.
In hindsight Irfan should have been brought in for the injured Praveen Kumar.

Re: The Cricket Thread
yeah irfan pathan is all rounder. anyday better choice than ss. And chawla just seems like waste of spot
Re: The Cricket Thread
gosh sachin just gifted his wicket away.
Re: The Cricket Thread

In 2007, Irish kicked the pakis outta of world cup. This time they kicked the white pakis. Irish seem to be the paki killer.

This Cheen Mein Anandji always brings bad luck with him. He should be banned from kirkit thread
Phuck! now I know why we need 7 batsmen, perhaps even 11

Re: The Cricket Thread
I go to sleep thinking Eng are done, and wake up in the early morning to discover SA gave them the victory; and that IR did only modestly okay. So watch the couple of quick wickets go down; and then sleep when the innings get steady. Wake up to discover we Indians are shivering in our lungees and praying to our ishta daivta for a victory. Reading BRF, it looks like mistakes from the Indian side once again galore.

Thank Allah for the seventh batsman, otherwise we would have been in deep doo doo battling with the likes of Bangladesh and West Indies for a place in the Quarters against most-probably Australia
Re: The Cricket Thread
India needs 16 runs in 37 balls. Me liking this bery much.. getting the lungi ready.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Did he watch the same match as us?Dhoni "I think the Irish fielders backed up their bowlers very well. Everyone got a chance to bat, everyone was under pressure, it was very good exposure for the batsmen, the No. 7 batsmen is important. We are showing signs of improvement in bowling,
Re: The Cricket Thread
We should never bat first unless it's a turner.
Re: The Cricket Thread
^^ Watched the match in the stadium( free pass onlee) but walked out around 30-31st over of the Indian batting since it didn't seem to be heading anywhere and was really drab batting ( except the Yusuf show at end which i only saw on TV
)
