Dr Siddiqui has sent a letter of appreciation to all scholars in the university. KU was previously ranked at 600.

Drone technology! In Oman, where both nations' military chiefs met last week, the Pakistanis asked for drone technology and the list of all CIA staffers in Pakistan in return for seeing to the release of Davis, which shows the widening trust deficit between the two "allies."
Dear Chisti, Chinese arent as stupid as Pakistanis. The underlying fact is that Pakistan and the United States have interests in the region that collide. Pakistan, in many ways a proxy of China, is concerned with India more than anything else, while the U.S. is increasingly stepping up against China (the biggest investors in Pakistan's defense industry) by opting to support India.
Probably both my friend. Reference to Punjab and Sindh land alienation act. Much of the land was mortgaged to Hindu moneylenders, so them leaving was good economically, and property too!The Hindus were better organised politically since the Indian National Congress was dominated by a strong Hindu professional and business class while the Muslims were condemned to be politically more backward since because of peculiar historical reasonsMr Jinnah had no choice but to accept the Muslim feudals who dominated Muslim politics ! Mr Jinnah was forced to ally with the Unionists in Punjab and the Sindhi landlords in future against the advice of Punjabi Muslim urban leaders like Dr Iqbal because it was a strategic compulsion. Thus from August 1947 India inherited a strong political culture while The Muslim League was destroyed by the feudals who had joined it out of fear of land reforms and because of being in debt to Hindu money lenders just a few years after Mr Jinnah's death ! Here again economics played a major role ! It has been estimated that in pre 1947 Punjab and Sindh money lending was the most important occupation after agriculture and that while the net revenue of Irrigation Department of Punjab was 267 Lakh Rupees that of money lenders was 500 Lakh Rupees ! In 1911 out of a total of 803,560 money lenders in India some 25 % or 193,890 lived in Punjab alone ! Thus while the total population of pre 1947 Punjab was one eleventh of India ,it had some one fourth of India's money lenders ! All this ensured that the feudal elements jumped in the Muslim League band wagon not out of genuine motivation but because of economic compulsion !

Zia of 1960s is remembered by Gul Hassan as a meek obsequeous soldier , a man unfit to be an officer of the Pakistan Army in words of his immediate senior Major General Nawazish !

this guy is coming on true strong!Ayub destroyed the Constitution of 1956 , a direct consequence of which was the separation of East Pakistan within fifteen years ! General Zia destroyed the Second Constitution of Pakistan simply because he feared a prime minister who could threaten his personal authority !
All military rulers acted out of self preservation ! They had no ideology ! Less Yahya all started from the lower middle class or middle class and ended as business tycoons ! They destroyed constitutions , promiscuously destroyed the political system by introducing test tube babies in politics who they later condemned as corrupt and defective ! They destroyed Pakistan's constitution transforming the office of prime minister from that of a potent statesman and respectable political chief executive to that of a glorified eunuch !
my dear man, dont be wajibul-qatl, with such open talk.We are condemned to long term insecurity simply because some individuals are not secure with a strong and stable political system for this country ! This is our tragedy from which we can only be rescued albeit ironically by unforeseen air crashes or war !
That is Ayub Khan, not Yahya. Ayub Khan was relieved of his command in Burma and sent packing home because of cowardice. It is ironical that he gave himself the title of FM later on. It is also ironical that this coward's son, another corrupt officer of the Pakistani Army Gohar Ayub Khan, accused FM Mankshaw, who got wounded near fatally in the same Burma front and got a Military Cross for his valour, of unpatriotic deeds !menon s wrote:that should YAHYA!A soldier who was guilty of tactical timidity in Burma was this country's first Muslim Army chief within four years of independence !

which led this Paki editor to wet his shalwar:"US-Pakistan relationship must be based on mutual interest, challenge is to find that mutual interest".
The paucity of time did not allow for asking the ambassador that clearly someone must have moved the goal posts in the recent weeks otherwise everyone had been led to believe that the two governments had agreed on mutual-interests a long time back. Ten years down the road, fighting a full-scale war against a commonly identified enemy, billions being poured in by US and still we face the challenge of discovering our mutual interests? Interesting reality check, indeed.

Security forces in Pakistan have rescued two judges who were kidnapped in the south-western province of Balochistan last month, officials say.
Jan Mohammad Gohar and Mohammad Ali Kakar were rescued after police got information as to their whereabouts from suspects already in custody.
Hundreds of local citizens, including doctors, lawyers and political activists have disappeared in the province. Their bodies are often later found in shallow graves.
Security agencies say they have been kidnapped and killed by insurgent groups. But human rights organisations are increasingly holding intelligence agencies and paramilitary forces responsible
Since women are competent and sincere to their professions, the Government of Pakistan should set a precedent and appoint a woman as the Chief of Army Staff, Sindh’s lawmakers suggested on Monday.
During the Sindh Assembly session, MPAs unanimously passed a resolution to commemorate the 100th International Women’s Day being celebrated on March 8. The resolution was moved by Shazia Marri: “This assembly … pays tribute to the dynamic women of Pakistan who strive passionately for the betterment of the country and its future despite [...] impediments. The resolution appreciates the women-empowerment policies, programmes and legislations of the present democratic government and resolves to further the struggle to establish a just and equitable environment conducive for sustainable development.”

What happened to JF 17 Bandar and J10 the plane for next centuryPakistan is in negotiations with the U.S. to get more Lockheed Martin F-16s beyond those it has on order, while at the same time it is developing its defense manufacturing capability to reduce its reliance on the U.S.
Pakistan air force Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman disclosed this, though no firm numbers were given. Qamar spoke to Aviation Week in Melbourne, Australia, where he was attending an air chiefs’ conference.
Chengdu F-7s and Dassault Mirages will be phased out as we get JF-17s,” says Qamar. “Some of our Mirages are the oldest in the world,” dating back to 1967. Phasing these out is a top priority because they are difficult and costly to maintain; no one is producing spare parts for them anymore. “We are getting second-hand parts, but we don’t know” their provenance. “It’s a flight-safety issue and a nightmare for me,” he adds.
When asked about data links to tie F-16s to JF-17s, Qamar says Pakistan is working to develop its own solution. “We have Link 16 on the F-16s. We will not fiddle with Link 16 and not have direct linkages [between the JF-17s] with the F-16” He says an indigenous tactical data link is being worked on. It will send information from the JF-17 to a ground station where there will be an interface, he says, adding there will be a short delay, and then the information will be sent to the F-16s.
The Inside Story, quotes Mike McConnell, the director of national intelligence (DNI) in 2008 as saying "They’re living a lie." "In exchange for reimbursements of about $2 billion a year from the US, Pakistan’s powerful military and its spy agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), helped the US while giving clandestine aid, weapons and money to the Afghan Taliban. They had an "office of hedging your bets," McConnell said.
Woodward comments: "It was hard, perhaps impossible, for a Pakistani general to put his binoculars down, turn his head over his shoulder, and look west to Afghanistan." Speaking of General Kayani, he says though he graduated from the US Command and General Staff College, "his training, exercises, maps, intelligence focus and the bulk of Pakistani troops were directed towards India." So much for our peace efforts with Pakistan!
At a meeting with president Zardari in May 2009, Obama said, "We do not begrudge you being concerned about India. I know that many Pakistanis are. But we do not want to be part of arming you against India, so let me be very clear about that." Obama felt that the best way for a quick solution to the Afghan situation was a conflict-free Indo-Pak relation. It is this idea that he expressed in his address to joint session of Parliament. But friendship is never one-way, as he must have realised by now.
NO SIR U R A NATION OF PANHANDLERS! And look at the way he compares himself," a nation of rug merchants" eye opening boss. The book recounts an interesting conversation between Pakistani ambassador to the US Haqqani and National Security Advisor Gen J Jones. Haqqani tells Jones "We are a nation of rug merchants" and adds that they pitch for 10,000 so that the deal would settle for 1,200. "You guys have no idea of the proportionality, you know? ... So our side now, we’ve asked for the moon, but we’ll get something... we’ll get our helicopters, which the army needs to go into North Waziristan."
Hussain Haqqani r u a diplomat or a pimp on hira mandi, lahore! BTW understand the class of Pak diplomats! my....my my...r ur national interests comparable to a women u wanna make out with? is that ur idea of a foreign policy and national interest?"A man who is trying to woo a woman," Haqqani said, was the best analogy. "We all know what he wants from her. Right?" The man wants one thing; "But she has other ideas. She wants to be taken to the theatre. She wants that nice new bottle of perfume. If you get down on one knee and give the ring, that’s the big prize. And boy, you know, it works". "The ring is, by the way, recognition of Pakistan’s nuclear programme as legitimate."
thats a fact, and thats what we need to be careful about. The foreign policy of India under Manmohan Singh is clearly being choreographed elsewhere, to suit the needs of the superpower.
