HS garu,

My gut feel is Hasan Ali represents the old age hawala system. But this system is under radar after 9/11 and 2008 melt down. Perhaps the netadom found a new paradigm to conduct their 2-hand businesses.

So Hasan Ali is being made Balipasuvu

Well Sir, in that case I will shout along with you, and instigate and encourage general civil revolt, till this corrupt Kangress kleptomanics go. After that I will continue shouting for destruction of all the leeches (i.e the entire political and babudom order) while you support your perceived nationalistic, but still factually corrupt BJP bosses. All Roads Lead To ...

[quote[Kerala Govt Didn’t Clear Thomas for Central Job

PJ Thomas rose to the critical constitutional post of India’s Central Vigilance Commissioner despite his home cadre clearly communicating that he should not be considered for central deputation due to an ongoing vigilance inquiry, documents with ET show.

This demolishes the defence of Prithviraj Chavan, the former minister of state in the Prime Minister’s Office, that Kerala government had cleared Thomas’ record and that DoPT was unaware of the vigilance case. The prime minister had earlier passed the blame to Chavan, saying the DoPT never informed him about the senior IAS officer’s record.
The Supreme Court last week struck down Thomas’ appointment as CVC, further embarrassing the embattled Manmohan Singh government.

With proof emerging that the vigilance enquiry against Thomas was placed on record by his home cadre, the CVC fiasco represents a shocking systemic failure on the part of the Central government and exposes the abysmal due diligence the government undertook ahead of such a critical appointment.

In a letter to DoPT on March 11, 2008, a Kerala government communiqué to DoPT said Thomas was not considered for central deputation, despite his willingness, as a vigilance enquiry/ case was going on against him. “Sri PJ Thomas, IAS, chief secretary to government, had applied for central deputation in 1988, but was not selected for appointment. Subsequently, after 1992, he had expressed his willingness for central deputation, but was not considered because of a vigilance enquiry/case. Because of this he was not considered so far. The case has not been finalised yet. I may inform that Sri PJ Thomas could not work at the Centre as he was not recommended for the same by the state government,” the letter from the Kerala government to DoPT says.

The letter was signed for the chief secretary by joint secretary O Babu. The chief secretary at the time was PJ Thomas himself. The letter was written in response from an enquiry from the DoPT seeking information about senior IAS officers who should be considered for empanelment for appointment at the Centre as additional secretary or secretary. A three-year prior central deputation is a requirement for such empanelment, and the letter was seeking information about why the officers who did not meet this requirement were unable to complete a central deputation. Kerala CM Achuthanandan had said on Wednesday that Chavan was lying and hiding facts. He was responding to the Maharashtra CM’s statement that Thomas’ vigilance clearance was done by the Kerala government. [/quote]

Court Extends Hasan Ali’s Remand by One More Day
Pune-based businessman Hasan Ali Khan’s remand with the Enforcement Directorate, or ED, was extended by the sessions court by one more day on Thursday after ED presented documentary evidence of his money laundering in the court. ED’s counsel requested the court to keep details about these documents confidential. Hasan Ali had challenged ED’s allegations, claiming there was no proof against him.

The court on Wednesday pulled up ED for not doing its home work and not preparing the case properly. Senior counsel for ED Rajeev Awasthi presented some documents in the court on Thursday, saying it was crucial evidence of Hasan Ali Khan’s involvement in money laundering, but requested the court to keep the documents secret. The court granted one day’s extension of remand. Sources said the documents submitted by ED consists of letters written by Khan asking for help from some Swiss bank authorities after his accounts were frozen following a fund transfer to his account from arms dealer Adnan Khashogi. Hasan Ali Khan’s lawyer IP Bagadia claimed that charges against him were false and that ED was not specific about what offence he was charged for.

Khan booked for passport forgery crime
Pune stud farm owner Hasan Ali Khan, who was arrested for alleged money laundering and tax evasion, has been booked in a case of passport forgery filed by the regional passport office in Patna.

An FIR was filed against Khan for submitting fake information about his residential address while applying for a passport in December last year. He mentioned Alamganj in Patna as his local address and Belsand in Sitamarhi as his permanent address.

A police verification found these claims to be false. The passport office rejected Khan's application and lodged a police complaint.

Kumar said Ali was booked under Sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC and the Indian Passport Act.

Khan had managed to obtain multiple passports from Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai and reportedly one from London. He even applied for passports from Guwahati and Chandigarh.

The Supreme Court had recently directed the Centre to consider terror charges against Khan for his alleged role in passport forgery and links with the international arms mafia.

Kerala Govt Didn’t Clear Thomas for Central Job
Heh..heh. When Com. V.S Achu is at the helms, I find it tough to believe that Kerala Govt. had not put things on records against PJ Thomas. VS Achuthanandan have been doggedly following the infamous Pamolein case for donkey's years now. Another accused in this case was late K.Karunakaran, arch-rival of Achu. Achu's is reknown for his systematic targetting of folks whom he does not like. This is the same chap who ensured that a former minister K.Balakrishna Pillai was sentenced for one year of RI for another corruption case. The ex-minister is at Central Prison,Poojapura as I type this now :).

Looks like it is only the clout of PJ Thomas in INC which helped him reach this position. And frankly I dont know whether religion also played an important part here.

Now they say that PM-ji knew about the PJT's background and charges levelled against him. (== our pmji is a liar)

http://news.outlookindia.com/item.aspx?714698
PM Knew Of Charge Against Thomas

The Indian Express quotes three official letters — one written by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) in 2008, and two by the Kerala government in 2006 and 2008 — to suggest the palmolein case against PJ Thomas had come to the notice of the Prime Minister.
The most important of the three letters cited by the newspaper is the DoPT note, signed by under secretary Kabindra Joshi on October 17, 2008 which informed the Cabinet Secretariat:

“Kerala had requested sanction for prosecution against Thomas in the palmolein case... However, the state in 2005 requested that the earlier letter in 1999 seeking sanction may be treated as withdrawn. After ascertaining full reasons for the request, the matter was submitted to the Prime Minister. The PM has ordered that in view of the fact that there are no disciplinary proceedings in the case, the request of the state regarding withdrawal of request for sanction is noted.”

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 said in Rajya Sabha that he became "aware of this case only when the hon. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha raised this issue in the meeting (to select the CVC on September 5, 2010)

With the DoPT note coming to light, there is going to be heightened pressure on the Prime Minister to explain how he could say that he first came to know about the case in the meeting of September 3, 2010 from Ms Sushma Swaraj when the 2008 letter clearly shows his awareness of the case.

Well, only politicians have been PM's of India. That cardinal rule has not been broken yet.
There was a fair chance for the current PMji to have made it to the list of honest politicians in the following link
http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Honest_politicians

Almost made it to the list. Sorry, when things were looking so good, just missed it.

http://www.quotecounterquote.com/2010/0 ... n-hes.html
“An honest politician is one who’s never been caught.”
“In the good old days, an honest politician was one who lied only when he had to. But now lies are becoming the accepted language of government at the highest levels, the theory being that sooner or later the people of the country will become so confused and disillusioned that they will just mind their own business, and leave governing to well-placed liars.”

The PJT affair shows how obtuse language is used to delay and deny prosecution.

On the contrary the Kabindra Joshi letter will be used to show how MMS wasn't aware for there was no call for disciplinary action and the earlier 1999 Kerala letter was withdrawn. See if this argument comes up.

Murugan,
I think massa is after Hasan Ali. He represents hawala interests which they are on a crusade to shut down. That will complete the Western takeover of financial channels running from pre-British days.

Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, whose clean image has taken a beating in view of former chief vigilance commissioner PJ Thomas’s appointment, got a breather from the Congress high command on Thursday. Member of Legislative Council, Sanjay Dutt, will vacate his seat for Chavan who needs to make it

to the legislature before May 11, 2011.
Speculations were rife on Thursday afternoon when Chavan cancelled his official programme in Pune and flew to New Delhi to meet party president Sonia Gandhi.

When Chavan’s adversaries in the Congress and opposition expected something dramatic to happen, Gandhi expedited the process of getting the CM elected to the state legislature. Gandhi asked Dutt to vacate his seat for the chief minister.

The high command gave Chavan a mandate for cleansing things as the new CM. But recent controversies created doubts about him as well,” said a senior Congress minister requesting anonymity. “Thursday’s development indicates that the party president wants to protect him.”

The CM’s name got involved in a recent controversy when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh told the Rajya Sabha that Chavan, the then minister in-charge of personnel department, had short-listed Thomas for the top post. Chavan clarified that the Kerala government had recommended Thomas’s name. Kerala CM, VS Achuthanandan, denied this and said that he opposed the selection.

The state Bharatiya Janata Party president, Sudhir Munganttiwar, said Chavan’s name had cropped up in the spectrum scams and ‘illegal’ allotment of flats.

State Congress spokesperson Anant Gadgil said, “We did not blame Chavan for anything related to CVC appointment. The BJP should ask the ‘corrupt’ Karnataka CM and Mumbai BJP president Raj Purohit to resign from their respective posts.”

Thinking that the political system in India can be reformed is like thinking that Pakistan can be reformed (seriously). Given the past record, there is no rational basis for concluding that the political system will clean itself just like there is no rational basis for thinking that Pakistan will clean itself. Any Indian who is thinking that one day there will be light and the political system will clean itself is like a Paki thinking that one day their country will emerge out of insanity. Both these liines of thinking are complete illusion and have no basis in reality.

Unless the public takes on to large scale civil unrest, this problem is here to stay. These netas are a disease on society, they are worse than terrorists. Just like there is no good Taliban, there is no such thing as a good neta. All of them and their eco-system must be removed, their wealth and any means of survival be confiscated, and their children and grandchildren, for whom these guys are swindling billions (that they themselves cannot spend in their life time) should be put on street and blacklisted so that they cannot find any meaningful employment just like the millions of Indians who have barely enough to eat and from whom these leeches are swindling money to live live of luxary in their palaces while deluding the rest of the country into thinking that they are some sort of saints.

Its time that this political system where the corrupt, the criminals, and anti-nationals all find space must be destroyed.

Dawood men on save Balwa mission, IB alerts CBI
March 15, 2011 3:39:37 AM

PNS | New Delhi

The Intelligence Bureau has issued an alert to the CBI suggesting that global terrorist Dawood Ibrahim’s men could destroy 2G spectrum allocation documents in a bid by the underworld to save Shahid Usman Balwa, promoter of Swan Telecom and a key accused in the multi-crore scam.

The IB alert comes after a telephonic interception and a follow up reconnoitering of the lead, official sources said, adding that Dawood’s men have been covering the proceedings-related to the 2G scam in the courts.

The sources said, the CBI headquarters has alerted its Mumbai office and necessary precautions have been taken.

The underworld plans come close on the heels of the CBI probing the national security angle in the controversial allotment of 2G licences.

Balwa is alleged to have links with the Dawood gang and the Union Home Ministry has reportedly raised concerns over transfer of Swan Telecom’s shares to UAE-based Etisalat that has telecom operations in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the CBI has questioned managing director of Kalaignar TV Sharad Kumar and promoter of Cineyug, Karim Morani in connection with the transfer of `214 crore to the DMK-owned channel.

The investigators also confronted the duo with one another to cross examine them.

The agency is probing the alleged links between Balwa and DMK leaders and suspects the money was transferred to channel as a quid pro quo of favours granted by former Telecom Minister A Raja.

Kumar was grilled for nearly six hours for transfer of funds. Two hours later, Morani was also grilled. CBI sought clarifications from the two since the agency found discrepancies in their versions on reasons for transfer of money at the behest of Balwa, the sources said.

“I was called to cross-verify some issues... I have provided all the information sought by them. I am going back to Chennai tonight," Kumar said.

Last week, a team of CBI officials had gone to Chennai to question DMK MP and Tamil Nadu CM Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimozhi and his wife Dayalu Ammal in the 2G probe.

Ammal has a majority stake in the channel with 60 per cent shares and remaining 40 per cent is shared equally by Kumar and Kanimozhi.

The CBI will file a status report on the investigation so far into the 2G scam case to the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

Coalition dharma at its brazen worst
Less than a month since Manmohan Singh justified the mollycoddling of scamster ministers in the name of “coalition compulsions”, Indians watched this week as “seat-sharing” talks ahead of elections in Chennai barely concealed the political adhesive of UPA-2: blackmail.
The 2G spectrum scam has led scamsters DMK and Congress to break their heads over resolving the sticky situation created by the mother of all thefts. With Assembly polls round the corner, the DMK is in a state of high anxiety, as unlike the Congress which has little by way of investment in the state, Tamil Nadu is the universe for Karunanidhi and his ilk. While the Congress could afford to occupy the moral high ground on the issue just because the investigating agencies are yet to knock on its doors, the DMK felt betrayed because it perceived its bigger ally had not done enough to save its leaders including the family members of supremo M Karunanidhi. With the Assembly election nearing, the Congress took full advantage of the issue and started squeezing the DMK to extract its own pound of flesh. The sudden increase of pace in the CBI’s probe, the sacking and subsequent arrest of Telecom Minister A Raja, and the anticipated interrogation of Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimozhi and other women of the household put Karunanidhi on the back foot. The fact that he could not prevent the CBI from raiding his own TV channel’s office was weighing on his mind. This made him focus on the prevention of the interrogation of his wives and the possible arrest of his daughter, at least until the election.

Despite the Congress having an advantage over DMK as far as the 2G probe was concerned, Karuna played his cards quite well by threatening to withdraw from the Union government, thereby rocking the seven-year relationship which was mutually ‘beneficial’. Though bickering over seat-sharing was projected as the reason for the mess, the real cause was the failure of the two parties to arrive at an understanding over the 2G probe. This could be ascertained by two ‘giveaways’. The first was by Karunanidhi, through a statement that “hiccups” in seat-sharing was one of the reasons, and the other was by Pranab Mukherjee, who said, “We know how to create problems; we know how to solve them too.
So, the drama on seat sharing proceeded while the actual scenes happened behind the screens at the Capital. Reliable sources say that the DMK had categorically told the Congress leadership that it cannot claim a moral high ground on the spectrum scam and arm-twist the DMK because if the latter sank, it could pull down the grand old party with it. It was amusing to follow the mainstream media peddling the theory that that Sonia ‘slammed’ DMK leaders, or that Sonia ‘snubs’ Karuna and she upheld the ‘prestige of the Congress’. In reality nothing of the kind happened.
Karunanidhi is at the fag end of his career. Since 1996 he has made it a point to cosy up to whichever party is in power in Delhi. But he was powerless to prevent the arrest of Raja or stop the CBI probe. As elections neared he developed cold feet, and reading his precarious situation, the Congress tightened its grip. The move by Jayalalithaa to offer her support to the Congress in the event of its dumping the DMK came in handy for Sonia Gandhi’s emissaries in Chennai.
But by midweek, the old warhorse finally prevailed over the Congress and saved the alliance. Reportedly, the Congress has agreed to slow down the investigations, delay the interrogation of Karuna’s family members and ensure that Kanimozhi is not harassed. After all, Sonia Gandhi has her own interests to safeguard. As a step in that direction, the DoT has sent a notice to the telecom companies who were beneficiaries of the scam, giving them a 60-day breathing space. Citing this and a few other ‘made-up’ reasons the CBI might pray for adjournments in the Supreme Court leading to the protection of the DMK first family.

For the Tamilian on the street, the dynamics of the political track are all too transparent. This is alliance politics in its most disgusting form. The ordinary party cadre has lost all respect for their leaders. Money power is set to overwhelm politics on an unprecedented scale. The aam admi is hoping that the Election Commission would be sincere and effective.

No idea , All I know his siblings died young in accidents, father and Uncles also died shortly in sucide and accident.

Google chacha co.in will not give much info, only .com will, some links his father was hanging from a celing fan, others that he died of heart attack, Anyway its OT and in India this topic is like Discussing Saudi family details in Saudi Arabia, so this is my last post on the topic.

Would be interesting to watch how the rapist goon puppet yellow daily is going to spin this tomorrow. I am expecting a bare bones, no comment, just mere 'facts' only report...the first septic tank of TN is close to the yellows having pushed a few of their own women into it.

The wikipedia article cites a TOI article which seems to have been removed! Anyway, the article still survives on the Economic Times website:
Priyanka's father-in-law hanged himself: Police sources
TNN,Apr 3, 2009, 10.27pm IST

NEW DELHI: Rajendra Vadra, father of Robert Vadra, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's husband, was found dead at a guest house in Yusuf Sarai area on Friday. A source requesting anonymity claimed that it was suspected to be a case of suicide as Vadra was found with an ironing cord around his neck.

Police officials, off the record, initially said the death was caused by a heart attack, but later clammed up. No official statement was forthcoming from either the family or the police.

Vadra's body was found by a room attendant at around 9.30 am in City Inn, where he had been staying for the last fortnight. His body was taken to Safdarjung Hospital and a post mortem conducted.

Sources within the hospital claimed that there were injury marks around the neck, but declined to be quoted. Neither the police, nor hospital authorities divulged any details about the cause of death.

Vadra, who was in his 60s, was reportedly alone at the time of his death. His body was cremated at the Lodhi Road Crematorium on Friday afternoon in the presence of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka and his son Robert, along with other family and friends.

Rahul left early for campaigning in Bihar while the others stayed on with the family. The family of the deceased refused to speak to the media about the incident. The police declined to comment on whether an inquest would be conducted into the allegations of suicide.

Vadra was reportedly undergoing treatment for cirrhosis of the liver and severe diabetes at Max Hospital. He was staying at the guest house even though he owned a house in New Friend's Colony.

About eight years ago, Robert Vadra had issued a public notice stating that his father, Rajender, and brother, Richard, were "duping" people by promising jobs at the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee and other favours. Rajendra later threatened to file a defamation suit against his son. In an interview, he had also expressed displeasure at Robert's marriage with Priyanka.

Rajendra was a resident of Civil Lines area of Moradabad and ran a brass and wood handicrafts business. Robert's brother, Richard Vadra was also found dead in mysterious circumstances in September 2003 at his Vasant Vihar residence, and his sister Michelle died in a car accident in 2001.

While the Vadra family claimed to be a supporter of the Congress Party, Rajendra's older brother Om Prakash had donated his property to a trust in Moradabad, some members of which are affiliated with RSS.

A school still stands on that land. The family is originally from Sialkot, Pakistan, and Rajendra's father moved to India at the time of partition.

BJP, Left to corner Cong on Vadra's rise
The Opposition is preparing to take on the ruling Congress on the issue of rise in the assets of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra.
On Tuesday, leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj said, "The matter is a serious one and the party is gathering documents to aise it with the prominence it deserves."
She said the party had "entrusted" leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley to collect facts on Vadra's rise.
CPM leader Sitaram Yechury was on the same track. "It looks like a serious matter and our party is ascertaining facts and will come up with a structured reaction on this," he said.
The opposition's interest in Vadra's assets stems from a report in the Economic Times on Monday which detailed how he had graduated from fashion accessories to diversify into real estate, hospitality and leasing of aircraft.

Batcha could have led CBI to 2G money trail

The death of Sajid Batcha, a key aide of former telecom minister Andimuthu Raja, came just as the second round of investigations into the 2G Spectrum scam was all set to focus on the Dawood Ibrahim link and hawala transactions.

The CBI, coupled with its evidence and inputs from the Intelligence Bureau, had managed to link some of the transactions to hawala operators who were part of the Dawood gang headquartered in Pakistan.

That seems to be changing as 42-year-old Vadra, known for his punishing fitness regime and love for fast bikes, has sought to scale up and diversify his business activities since 2008, acquiring tracts of land in Haryana and Rajasthan, a 50% stake in a leading business hotel in Delhi, and attempting an entry into the business of chartering aircraft. Regulatory filings available in the public domain and reviewed by ET reporters reveal the changing graph of Vadra 'sbusiness interests. These include wide-ranging transactions with the DLF Group.
Several of his companies have received loans, some unsecured, from DLF group companies, including the Bombay Stock Exchange-listed flagship DLF Ltd.
Sky Light Hospitality Pvt Ltd , a company wholly owned by Vadra and his mother Maureen Vadra, is a partner, along with DLF Hotel Holdings and others, in a partnership firm that owns the business hotel Hilton Garden Inn in the upscale South Delhi business district Saket. The hotel is located within the DLF Place mall, also known as DLF Courtyard. "The Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Saket is a small business hotel

DLF has been in the eye of a storm recently, when the Competition Commission of India (CCI) restrained it from cancelling allotments in two upcoming projects in Gurgaon, after flat-owners approached the anti-monopoly office saying that the company was abusing its dominant position. CCI allowed interim relief to Bellaire Owners’ Association and DLF Park Place Residents’ Welfare Association and restrained the company from creating “third party rights”, which means that it cannot re-sell or transfer the apartments where it has cancelled allotments.
After an outcry by shareholders, in March this year, DLF decided to resolve the conflict of business interest with erstwhile group company DLF Assets, by merging it with a fully-owned subsidiary. But it is still a long way from resolving all shareholder issues, as the debt brought on its books through the merger will remain a big concern until it manages to list the newly-merged arm. It probably plans to list it as a real estate investment trust abroad. From the merger, DLF now has Rs210 billion ($4.6 billion!) of debt on its books.

DMK: More bad news on the way
'There are indications of two streams of money flooding the coffers of Kalaignar TV. The first was from DB Realty.
'The second, which is not yet publicly disclosed, allegedly involves a sum of Rs 50 crore from another participant in the purchase of 2G spectrum.'

'Investigators are also looking at a seeming clue thrown up by the famous Radia Tapes,' says T V R Shenoy.

Is corruption really an issue in Indian elections any longer?

Possibly, perhaps even probably, but is it the single most important talking point? We may be about to find come in the Tamil Nadu assembly polls that are now exactly a month off as I write.

M Karunanidhi [ Images ], the DMK boss and the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, was overheard lamenting that he was being punished for keeping his word. Five years ago the DMK-led coalition rode to power promising, among other things, a colour television to every household.
The second, which is still not yet publicly disclosed, allegedly involves a sum of Rs 50 crore (Rs 500 million) from another participant in the purchase of 2G spectrum.

In a parallel approach, investigators are also looking at a seeming clue thrown up by the famous Radia Tapes. Very briefly, a conversation between the lobbyist and a certain Mr Rathnam - introduced by Mrs Rajathi Ammal, M Karunanidhi's third wife and Kanimozhi's mother -- had some interesting bits about Voltas [ Get Quote ] (part of the Tata Group) and a 'Krishna Kumar' and a 'Sanjay Ubhalia' (both identified with men working for the Tatas, specifically with Tata Realty and Infrastructure).

It is a bit complicated but there seems to have been a land deal concerning a 53,000 square foot plot on Chennai's Anna Salai that is conservatively estimated at Rs 200 crore (Rs billion). Currently held on a long lease by Voltas, it has reportedly been sold to Dr Shanmuganathan, who is identified as a Malaysian, for roughly one-eighth of its estimated value!

The agent who negotiated this incredible deal is a certain Mr Saravanan, who used to be employed by Royal Enterprises, a firm owned by Mrs Rajathi Ammal. Both Kanimozhi and her mother deny any involvement in the deal.
