Non-playing captain wanted. Saurav dada, are you listening??

BTW, isn't it too late for even the mai-baap BCCI to make changes in team's captaincy after the tournament has started? Against ICC rules or something, perhaps?

No captain shaptain changing required, Indian team is bound to have a bad game in the WC. Y.Pathan will have a couple of bad games he had his.

Pranthan and Ashwin are required instead of Nehra and Steady good line and length - Munaf patel, in flatist wickets line and length without pace is not good enough especially if God forbid Batsman fail and we need to defend 215-220.

I hope the media Overhypes our opponents in QF, SF and F. They should throw parties for those teams,

Let these teams celebarate before the matches, let us celeberate after the WC.

Got a lucky ticket to watch the India -WI match. The last one day match I saw at Chepauk was between India and the Windies in 94-95 when India won. Was not lucky with the last test that I saw in 1999 against Pakisatan, where Gawd was let down by mere mortals.

canada looks set to score around 250 today. even "juniors" like canada, kenya and ireland seem quite capable of scoring 250 these days.

You are taking the military analogy too far. The military personnel operate in an environment unlike any other. It is a question of life and death, where the paradigm is totally different than normal conditions. Loyalty, discipline, emotions ityadi have to be kicked up several yards high. While one might be able to draw lessons and values from the way military personnel operate, it is too much to fully apply it for Circket.

As a Sachin fan, I protest these absurd logic :-) Poor guy, let him be. There is really no complaints against him, now let the other failures get their head out of their asses and play good for the country, the fans yeah and team too.

On that I agree. The complaints are against the others, why can't they take inspiration from Sachin and do even a fraction of what he does?

First of all, Harsha didn't write that article. He denied it on twitter.

Second, no use having Viru as captain. He himself doesn't want it and a reluctant captain isn't going to do you any good.

Ultimately the buck stops at the Captain's feet. But the selectors can throw a wrench even before things get started. Mohinder called them a "bunch of jokers", sometimes they do prove Mohinder was right. If a captain is given a squad in which he has no confidence, then save the country onlee. If he is given the squad of his liking and he is not able to get the required performance then it points to his: a)judgment b)leadership skills.

nope, BD has to win against SA for the match b/w us and WI to become a do or die one. even then NRR will give us a chance if we don't lose too badly.

ENG are in good position to win the match. 240+ batting second on a slowish pitch is not a pushover.

phuck. And I thought Des had its QF berth sealed. Make that QF re-berth only. Am noisily rooting for Yingland crashing out of this match and the tournament so that Desi berth-and-death model in the QF remains tight.

That was one laddu dropped. Perhaps they just dropped the chance of quarter finals. Does it seem like that cricketing standards in general have gone down?

^^ Hope Diggy raja isn't getting phone calls from Yingland's WC hopes already.

Re standards going down, well, yes. Seems gen Y or whatever has gotten so immersed in this ubiquituous connectivity-google-facebook-twitter thing aajkal that attn spans have suffered and it shows in the dropped laddus on field big time. Perhaps. IMVHO.

I don't know, Pollard looks like a weak-ish batsman to me. If it is in his slot, he will hit it big but when he has to nudge it around, he struggles. He got LBW, as expected.
