Common sense says this team does not look like moving beyond QF. How can you win a tournament with 3batsmen and two bowlers?

one stat i found out of 4 times a player scored 300 runs and got 10 wikits in WC 3 times that team have won the cup
in 83 it was Kapil Dev then it was a whathis name poaky S jayasurya for SL there was a Zimbabwean in between

currently Yuvi has 9 wikits and 284 runs if he gets a wikit and score 16 runs TI is in for a 3 to 1 chance no?

No Hayden, No Gilchrist, No M'cGrath, No Warne and their replacements aren't half as good. If we don't beat them in our own backyard, then we don't deserve to win the WC.

What is happening to our MRF pace foundation? did it mature?

We don't send budding pacers to English county cricket to mature. Zhak did.

Siry Aggy bagged fastest hundred wickets in the ODIs and then Dhakkan Lilly sent him to MRF ostensibly for refining his action rest as they say is history.

I thought Raju Kulkarni was the fashtesht... but he was never seen again since those days.

Pranthan and Zhak did bowl fast 147kmph. With line and length none is actually aspiring to be lilee.

Actually, they can bowl couple of b@lls per over at 150 with line and length. That effort is enough to get us to finals. I think, WC final will be won by bowling efforts onlee.

I agree. Gawd's retirement will mark the end of an era. Momentous and saddening. I still remember the '87 WC pic of Gavaskar's stumps clean bowled - the match after which India crashed out of the WC and he ended his int'l career.

Though, something still tells me he will make is ton of tons and then retire at a height the view from where I doubt anyone after will ever get to see.

The guy made a 200 in an ODI, at the near-end of his career. Such feats cannot be touched so easily. What more...
One thing is for sure, he is better than most in the team in terms of athleticism, commitment and of course talent. No signs of a guy ready to retire.

I think better to keep a left-right combo going - send in GG & Sehwag. send in SRT next no matter who falls. by this time the initial shine would be off the ball. next fall send in Yuvraj/Kohli/Raina depending on whether we need a L or R. Dhoni to bring up the rear and 'rally the tail around him'

^^^ROFL. Good one.

Beer n popcorn time...soon... WIsh ours were the last QF instead of the 2nd. That way, we could've gotten to ensoi the other 3 QFs w/o India's result weighing on the mind.

Me, I plan not to watch the rest of the WC should India exit. I know, I feel for 'em marketers and advertisers and all..../am using the dishtv commercial-free HD broadcast. No ads anyway. And such awesome-ish reception. good fun. IPL would be a fun watch on this.

Pakis have won thier quater final WI 38/3 in 17 overs, Sarwan and Chanderpaul have played 13 overs inbetween them and scored 18 runs.

Looks like Pakis have thier hands on the World CUp. I dont in any way how they can lose.

The wicket looks very easy for batting and I would say a par score is 310-320.

I don't see any batting line up dominating the Paki bowling attack and scoring 300-350, I dont see the Paki batting also collapsing and getting out cheaply

Pretty sizable amount of cheering for Pak even in BD..

69/5 - Pollard fails against spin again, now 69/6 THomas out, SHahid Afridi is unplayable. . this Game is over.

I think the MEA needs to issue 25000 visas since Pakis need to see thier team win the WC at Wankade.

I think Aussie Batting line up has only failed against the Pakis who no batting line up has been able play well against. It will be totally wrong assumption to expect Aussie Batting will fail against Indian Pie Chuckers.
