I have never ever seen a more azhukku player than mahela jayawardane. roshan mahanama comes a very very close second. And we never seem to be able to tie him down. Giving singles to a just-in batsman and not having a slip for the new batsman are basics and we let go there.

Sheesh zack gave 35 off his last 2 overs. MSD seems to have been hung up on getting zack to bowl 48 and 50. even in the last match we had that problem.

No docking of overs. Only fine for Dhoni, that docking overs rule is gone

2 good partnerships around 100 each will take us closer and then it will be a battle of mental strength

its going to be tough grind and hoping that it will show real steel of India. All the batsmen found it easy to work singles once bowl got older and pitch is playing true..

Zak should not feel like Chetan Sharma, the batsmen owe it to Zak to get us through. At crucial times in the WC Zak gave us good breaks and it is time to collect his dues from the other team members.. Come on India, Not for SRT but do it for Zak

He was really badly managed today by MSD. He is used to coming in around the 30th over for an over or two, and then get a third spell near the end. He also seems to have hurt himself in one of the dives he took.

You can imagine the amount of frustration all the other bowlers in the team would have been feeling, when Pranthan was going all over and MSD was persisting with him. That decision to bring Pranthan in after a wicket fell was not right. It just takes the air out of the other attacking bowlers.

MSD typically is a percentage and probability captain. Today he was a hope captain. He was hoping that Pranthan will get a wicket or two, instead of looking at how he was letting the pressure slip. Further if the goal was to get a wicket or two, MSD should have put in a slip in which he did not.

I think TI did not have anything left in the emotional tank after the SF. The SL team played a very calculated innings. There were no big hits till the end. All wrist, touch and placement, which did not allow TI to put in the choke.

The body language said it all today. SL were able to break what TI was planning, and they became dominant as the game progressed further. The worst part is that when I woke up the first 7-8 overs were already gone and saw the pressure dissipating. The same thing happened in the Paki game, I woke up just when Shewag got out and it was a tense game after that.

Unless Indian batting rises to the the occasion the extra 20 - 25 run given in the last power play may prove costly.

Anyway, it is doable!

Hard hitting partnerships will be crucial, especially in the first 15-20 overs. This will help india keep pace.
