Packee comments from cricinfo:
I am a Pakistani, but i am really happy for India, they deserved this WC, Sachin deserved it. All the greats in the game had one. This WC isn't simple WC, it'll determine future of the cricket and believe me in India there is a lot of passion and love for cricket. So bad tho, that we Pakistanis can't play in India. Nice Job India, Nice Job Sachin and Zaheer (*Zaheer is fabulous and greatest bowler of all times from India*) Enjoy this victory India, Peace to everyone. Pakistan will win next world cup InshaAllah (If we drop Kamran Akmal !!)
I thought after the MMS_gilani pappi-jhappi, sporting ties have been declared resumed with TSP? I hope I'm wrong but can anyone confirm?
Congratulations Team India and especially Sachin Tendulkar. Well done Sri Lanka. It was an excellent final to a wonderful tournament. We from Pakistan are thrilled.
Hmmm, the ususal packeeness ain;t there.... adversity taking the edge of ingrained, congenital, chronic anti-Indianism or what?

This is what 1 defeat against kafir India does. It is a lesson to the world on what needs to be done to improve the lives of people in the Indian subcontinent. Second defeat will solve Kashmir, third defeat will bring in world peace.

Was SRK there at the match? I saw a lot of celebs and also Aamir Khan who was tense all the time, but missed SRK. I saw him for the Pak match though.

Congrats on winning the World Cup on Indian soil. The 2011World Cup win will be remembered for at least a generation and bring out the national spirit. Folks will fondly recall how they cheered for the Indian team.

For me the crucial win was against TSP in semi final. It was crucial to ensure they didn't play in Mumbai for the sake of the terrorist victims.

I sort of anticipated Dhoni moving up the order to split the lefties yuvi and raina and man what an innings under pressure. That 6 of the last ball is a danda up the musharraf of all those who dissed him and cussed him and called him names. Thala Dhoni ku periya whistle podunga!!

I think -

Sanga tried to be clever by delaying giving the ball to Murali. Yuvraj Singh has always been troubled by Murali. So Sanga thought of introducing Murali when Yuvi comes to play so that another quick wicket will put India into serious trouble. But Dhoni proved to be chanikyan by coming in instead of Yuvi.

I'm surprised no one's picked up on what Sangakkara said after the toss on being asked what the ideal score would be. Didn't he say, "Anything we put up"? Say whaaaaaaaaaaaa?

That said i don't grudge him too much, he's a competitor and he was gracious in the end.

Gautam Gambhir, the Indian batsman who stabilised the nation's innings after the loss of influential opener Sehwag, was no less compelling when he told a news channel that India had to win to honour the dead of the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai: "For me it will be dedicated to the people who lost their lives in the 26/11 massacre."

From the Guradian

So someone did dedicate it to the mumbai victims

Actually we all missed the green pant shivers. Pakis were told if they ever reach Mumbai they will be shot dead by Indian sharp shooters posted in the stadium and that terrified them so much they kept dropping the catches. Paki lurkers, go tell this to your LaWhore court.

Virat Kohli's quote is going to be told and retold million times for over 50 years. He was 1 yr old infant when Tendular began his career. By the time Virat started following cricket as a child, Tendulkar must have established himself. So he grew watching him play, and then plays along with him, carries him on his shoulder and dedicates this to him. Only in India, a worthy culture where humans recognize and respect other humans of stellar personality. Imagine the tears of joy Sachin brought to millions over 2 decades.

In 1983, I watched the WC on a B/w TV. I remember Srikkanth's attack on WI pace bowlders, Sandhu snaring Greenidge, Viv Richards blasting away India. IIRC, Doordarshan in its infinite wisdom had news telecast instead of carrying the cricket; so had to listen the commentary on radio. I remember exactly where I was when Richards hit Madan Lal and Kapil ran, ran and ran to take the catch. Mohinder and Kirti's bowling. Yashpal and Binny.

Similarly, I think there are going to be a few players and quotes etched in ma mind of 2011.

Raina and Virat's respect and undiluted worship of Sachin is worthy of our culture. Gambhir's dedication to the common man of Mumbai and its victims is another noteworthy quote. I will remember this WC for GG, Virat, Raina's attitude. Sachin and Bhajji's emotional displays; Sachin's smile and energy while fielding, Raina's narration of how he got inspired by Sachin and Yuvaraj's steady and consistent all round performance. And Dhoni being the object of criticism. And most of all the fun we had in BRF. And other small things that I might forget over the years.

Boss log in all the excitement, one must not forget the man who lifted the entire fielding of the Indian team. Before he arrived on the scene, Indian fielding was about as sloppy or maybe worse than the Pakis. But, the moment Raina came in everyone including our beloved Munna had a spring in their steps. As GD mentioned I have not seen a better display of Indian fielding in the final, ever in my lifetime...

This shiber seems to me is like an Earth quake.. we still have after shocks!

Well.. perhaps it is something !.. something really changing us all.. we might become mutants, as our genes are learned now on shiber with this WC win.

PS:

Of course ToIlet would not blink to get this nuj..
"going nude in private with consenting adults for a therapeutic purpose" is not an offence, and said that a contract for the same could be drawn up as the BCCI is not a government body. She suggested that the BCCI choose another country such as Paris for her striptease to avoid controversy.

Pandey goes on to add: "I am serious about it as many studies conducted by various universities abroad confirm such performances boost and inspire people to perform better in any field, be it sports or otherwise.''
