i live near PMA kakul (Abbottabad)
there is a helicopter romming around this time and two tanks which they only take out when there is anything serious
i heard 2 medium artillery sound
and one heavy artillery go off its to late and to lowed for any sort of drill i heard an alarm that warns us to take shelter
and we notices 2 jets mainly MIGS because of the low sharp sound they made
it is really scary and the lights of the military academy and our neighborhood went of
anybody have any idea whats going on
Maybe before the announcement but almost certainly a response to the attack which lasted almost an hour.

This is the something symbolic but I don't believe its for narrow political purposes.

The reason is for US to declare mission accomplished and withdraw from Afghanistan.

The cost of the war is way too high and the destruction of the main objective (the Taliban) is impossible.

My prediction is the withdrawl of US troops from Afghanistan will happen before 2012.

It might be good to think for yourself especially with this news coming on the heels of the humanitarian operation ongoing in Libya.

So OBL was hiding out in Kakul (Pakistan Military Academy) and Musharraf etc were saying that OBL is possibly dead!!!

Two faced liars.

Time to identify all the pakistani leaders who've said the OBL was dead.

Place called Bilal Colony.

The Afghanistan war is going badly and the US wants to withdraw from Afghanistan and claim victory.

Only way they can do that is by declaring OBL dead and mission accomplished. However the main objective which is the destruction of the Taliban has not been accomplished in 9 years of warfare.

Watch my prediction come true - a withdrawl from Afghanistan will occur soon, Taliban or no Taliban.

Tonight, I called President Zardari, and my team has also spoken with their Pakistani counterparts. They agree that this is a good and historic day for both of our nations. And going forward, it is essential that Pakistan continue to join us in the fight against al Qaeda and its affiliates.
So they agreed and were not excited or something. Obama when would you understand that Osama Bin Laden cannot be hiding in Abbottabad(home of retired officers of the Pakistan Army) without help from the ISI. Obama in his speech says I and doesnt speak about the Pakistanis' help which means they were on the side of Osama Bin Laden all through. Give peace a chance destroy the Pakistani Army

As opposed to declaring mission accomplished and withdraw from Afghanistan in 2003 when they "actually" killed him, at a time when the Taliban was in reality far more defeated. Instead they waited around until the Taliban gathered strength and resurged, spent several more years dicking around, and finally said "ok, I guess 1 trillion dollars is enough, time to pull out Osama's body and go home".

I guess there must have been really some secret nefarious purpose behind waiting around only known to the enlightened few.

Chilarai ji has a point, we cannot rule out the fact that betrayal's are a fact of life. As an aside point, this thread is in serious competition with the MRCA shortlist one for the title of fastest thread!

Perhaps, AQ's top echelon was subjected to repeated bouts of co-optation, with a final straw breaking the camel's back (this has obviously been discussed on BR many times before). Also, need to see this in context of fragmentation of AQ forces in the Maghreb and Libya operations.

We need all those opinions from the BR archives here now for revision and a fresh look. Time to re-open all those cold case files!

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/02/world ... ed.html?hp
President Obama noted that the operation that killed Mr. Bin Laden was launched with the cooperation of Pakistani officials, but the fact that Mr. Bin Laden killed in an deep inside Pakistan was bound once again to raise questions about just how much Pakistan is willing to work with the United States, since Pakistani officials denied for years that Mr. Bin Laden was in their country.

The capture of Mr. Bin Laden comes as relations between the United States and Pakistan have fallen to their lowest point in memory as differences over how to fight al Qaeda linked militants became clearer.

The chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, Adm. Mike Mullen, publicly criticized the Pakistani military two weeks ago for failing to act against extremists allied to al Qaeda who shelter in the Pakistani tribal areas of North Waziristan.

The United States has supported the Pakistani military with nearly $20 billion since 9/11 for counter terrorism campaigns but American officials have complained that the Pakistanis were unable to quell the militancy.

Last week, the head of the Pakistani army, Gen. Ashfaq Pervez Kayani told a Pakistanis that Pakistan had broken the back of terrorism in Pakistan, a statement that was received with high skepticism by American officials.

I bet my testimonial that the minute the CIA stopped cooperating with ISI, Osama was a dead man - because ISI was saving Osama every time.

It was Cold war institutional inertia that kept the CIA embracing the ISI and feeding them with info that they were using to protect Osama

Media channels were quickly laced with sliding tickers of flashing eye-witness statements that the helicopter was "shot down by a missile" and that a possible terrorist incident caused this accident.
Hamid gul connection is just down the corner.

Taliban was started by Naseerullah Babar. Naseerullah Babar studied at Presentation Convent School in Abbottabad. This compound is very close to this school.

ISLAMABAD, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Urdu TV channel Geo News quoted Pakistani intelligence officials as saying that the world's most wanted terrorist Osama Bin Laden was killed in a search operation launched by the Pakistani forces after an Pakistani army helicopter was shot down in the wee hours of Monday in Abbotabad, a mountainous town located some 60 kilometers north of Pakistan's capital city of Islamabad.

Killed in Pakistan, by foreign troops and that too near PMA and in a very sensitive Porki military area.

Questions should be asked WTF OBL was doing near their military academy? training porkies?

Shame on Pakistan. Real shame.

Exactly, that is why Neshant's posts mean nothing. No politician, worth his salt, would not have milked this out.

Looks like OBL might have been in this compound since 2010.

The alleged location is bang in the middle of abbottabad. It is possible that this is NOT the location.
This place is right next to the google earth placemark for Abbottabad.

Possible that someone jumped the gun here.

I would expect that the place would be on the outskirts of the city in a farmhouse.
But this is Downtown Abbottabad!!!

That ******** is Dead. I hope he died a Dog's death. I can never forget 9/11 EVER. I was there as usual that day downtown (I was not working in WTC) , I know people who lost loved ones and are scarred for live. It is the closest I have seen and experienced first hand of a terrorist act and that too on that horrendous scale.

GO USA. Hunt the remaining ********.

Now for the Pakis. They are up a shit creek without a paddle. Their ace in the hole is gone! Time for India to go after the LET pigs and the JeM pigs for the atrocities in India. Inshallah!

Apparently lots of retired generals live around that place.

3 story structure, with extraordinary security. 12 to 18 ft wall around.

It will take a gullible American to believe that Pakis were not protecting OBL. Stranger things have been believed by the Americans.

The PA has been criticized within Pakistan for not shooting down the drones.

How are they going to explain the ability of the U.S. to run a Special Ops force that far into Pakistan via helicopters and the PA not doing anything about it?
