^Bji,
that's what I thought too. If it is bad talibunnis they would focus on killing short beards instead of P3Cs. If it is insider job they would kill the other siders. If it is staged, they would kill low rankers.
The presence of Chinese and recent 50 bunder announcement is against unkil's plan, which is trying to force Pakis to fight hakkaanis. Pakis being pakis instead wEnt to china for reverse engineered maal. Chinese being Chinese, wanted to get a foothold into Afpak by throwing few bunders.
So it looks like a lesson to chipak alliance. As long as they focus on India they are encouraged. Us-china g2 is only applicable to economy and that too till west gets back into groove.
That means no chance of Gwader for china, now or in future. PoK is their western most geopolitical influence point.
That is why india need to act on PoK, sooner the better. That will make chipak alliance as good as east pakistan.
Guys , we need to file the patent for new game Poaks Vs Talib, TAil-Oiler VS Vasleen Khan and Jokers of Poaker Land .
OTOH, i think next attack will have some kind of nuclear dimension to attract global attention.
RamaY ji, its the surveillance capacity of the items taken out - that is intriguing. The donor himself need not be directly involved. Given that they have "moles" everywhere, and the thick neck gripping that the donor had with Pakiban - it is only a small step to entice the outfit to have a go. The encouragers wil not even be suspected under current paranoia.

A mothers prayers have a lot of power.
Much more of such visitations need to occur before some kind of justice is seemingly done. May Allah answer the mother's prayers. We are all praying along with this brave mother.
With all due respect, we also can't rule out Mormons affected by death rays from Mars, but let's use Occam's Razor shall we? There's only a thin line that separates nuance from conspiratorial hogwash.
This is almost surely what it looks like - a "bad jihadi" retribution for the Osama raid and the continuing TSPA double game, facilitated by the beards on the inside.
Obama said both he and British Prime Minister David Cameron understood that Pakistan has been “very obsessed” with India. He said the US wants Pakistan to realise that the biggest threat to it does not come from outside but is “homegrown”. He said, “They see that as their existential threat. I think that’s a mistake. I think that peace between India and Pakistan would serve Pakistan very well”. He said Pakistan needs to shed its orientation of looking at every issue through the India lens to be able to make full economic progress.
From the BBC interview.
Prophetic words.
Wishing Kiyanahi and the Internal Society of Idjuts a ver long and hot Diwali.
Maybe Gilani will repeat this statement "That this (attack in Karachi) was a failure of all intelligence agencies!
Midnight. When everyone in pure Pakistan would be sleeping.
But it would be prime time TV time where?
At what time did the OBL get carried out hain?
Cons-pee-racy theory 2:
Shuja Pasha was missing for the last few days, and guess who he was meeting?
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
Who would be bissed at this meeting hain?
lol. More power to the attackers. ya llah. More ak phyrr, rpg phyrr and more phyrrr.
And what the U.S actually said. “We condemn the attack and our sympathies are with the families of those injured or killed,” the White House in Washington said in a statement.
Next expected statement can be, "We are cancelling further transfer of P-3's because we are very much concerned with the technology being acquired by the Chinese."
PNS Mehran would have as many as: Maritime surveillance planes:
Upto 7 P-3C Orions
Upto 2 Atlantiques
Upto 4 F-27 Fokker
VIP Transport:
Upto 4 Hawker 850s
Helos:
Upto 5-6 Westland Seakings
Upto 3 Westland Lynx
Upto 6-8 Alouettes
A few Z-9EC Harbins (Chinese license produced Eurocopter Dauphin or Panther)
Also please don't forget PAFB Faisal, that lies on the other side of the runway.
PAF usually stations its transport planes there
So a few C-130s, a few helos (Hueys etc) might be there.
They usually station the Mirage III/Vs at PAFB Masoor that is located nearby, and not at this base.
Incidentally PAFB Masoor has a missile storage (and possibly N weapons) site not far from it.
All depends on how lucky the talibs got and how unlucky the Pakistanis were.
Gagan wrote:

They are all Pakistanis. Some are more pious. Some less so, that's all. Remember that the fundamentalists get less than 2% of the vote in Pakistan. They have no support. That is why Pakistan is so moderate and pissful.
All these attacks give India a deeper insight into which areas are vulnerable in case we have a war, which areas would require commando infiltration, which areas would need bombardment from air, which areas would need paradropping, and so on and so on. Nice way to gather intelligence, just lapping it up!
The bad new for Poaks is that no amount of money, weapons, bribes, or baksheesh is going to get them out of this mess. Their memories are long and the thirst for revenge against anyone who wrongs them (in their eyes) very, very long lasting.
I think killing / or not protecting as far as TSP is concerned the emir was the last straw for the TTP as far as the Pakjabi forces are concerned.
If nukes are at Mehran, this will have extremely serious implications for everyone.
YES!!!
Why are the Talibs going after the Pak Beheriya hain ji?
Pak Beheriya ne talibs ka kya bigara hai?
It is not as if the Pakistani Navy has sunk some Tali-bunny navy destroyers and aircraft carriers hain ji?
Why are the talibs killing and maiming the Beheriya?
Ans: Refer to the cons-pee-racy theory above.
(meanwhile I'm furtively working to somehow implicate the third element of the YYY axis somehow)

Sanjeev - not necessarily. If India were to plan an infiltration it would have to be planned expecting that everyone is alert. The fate of this naval base surprises me. I have seen Gagan's pics ut have not checked the distances - but we are talking of several hundred meters from the perimeter to where the aircraft are. It is a well planned commando raid with possible inside support - or alternatively morale i so low among the Paki armed forces that they will not oppose fellow Pakis.
i think there is a greater level of mutiny within the Pakistani armed forces than the Paki military brass and ass-phuck Kiyani will admit. The Pakistani armed forces may have lost control of jihad. That BBC report says that this event may make the Paki armed forces have a er think on their support for jihad - but what I am seeing is a capitulation to jihad. The armed forces are doing a Qadri and the army brass cannot get enough men to oppose it.
Pakistan is in big trouble IMO. This raid hits straight at the very assets that were supposed to oppose India. There must be some real anger in Pakistan.
KARACHI, Pakistan (AP) -- Islamist militants stormed a naval base in the Pakistani city of Karachi late Sunday, destroying two U.S.-supplied surveillance aircraft, firing rockets and battling commandos sent to subdue them in one of the most brazen attacks in years, officials said.
At least four navy personnel and a paramilitary Ranger were killed and 11 security forces were wounded in fighting at the Naval Station Mehran that was still ongoing Monday morning, navy spokesman Irfan ul Haq said.
The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was part of their revenge for the U.S. raid that killed Osama bin Laden. It was unclear how many militants were killed or wounded. But between 10 and 15 attackers entered the high-security facility before splitting into smaller groups, setting off explosions and hiding in the sprawling facility, Haq said.
The militants attacked the base from three sides and had control of one building as of Monday morning, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said. Navy helicopters were flying over the base in search of the attackers.
"Because of the presence of several assets on the base, the operation is being carried out in a cautious, smart way," Haq said, referring to military aircraft. "That's why it's taking so long."
The coordinated strike rocked the country's largest city just under three weeks after the May 2 death of bin Laden in a U.S. Navy SEALs raid in the northwest garrison city of Abbottabad, an event al-Qaida-allied extremists in Pakistan have vowed to avenge.
The unilateral American raid triggered a strong backlash against Washington, which is trying to support Pakistan in its fight against militants, as well as rare domestic criticism against the armed forces for failing to detect or prevent the operation.
The fact that militants were able to enter one of the country's largest military bases is another embarrassing blow to the Pakistani army and will raise questions over whether the attackers had inside information. That they targeted U.S.-supplied aircraft draws attention to American aid to the military, something generals here do not talk about, fearing criticism from the county's fiercely anti-American population.
After heavy American prodding, security forces launched several operations against militants in their heartland close to the border with Afghanistan over the last three years. The extremists have struck back against police and army targets around the country.
In claiming responsibility, Pakistani Taliban spokesman Ahsanullah Ahsan said the attack was part of their planned response to the death of the al-Qaida chief, and that Pakistan is the top target.
The militant group hates the Pakistani government because of its alliance with the U.S. This is the third major attack it has claimed since the bin Laden killing, including a car bombing that slightly injured American consulate workers in the northwest city of Peshawar and a twin-suicide attack that killed around 90 Pakistani paramilitary police recruits.
Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani condemned the attack, saying such a "cowardly act of terror could not deter the commitment of the government and people of Pakistan to fight terrorism."
Sunday's raid appeared to be the most serious against the military since October 2009, when militants attacked the army headquarters close to the capital, Islamabad. They held dozens hostage in a 22-hour standoff that left 23 people dead, including nine militants.
The raid began with at least three loud explosions, which were heard by people who live around the naval air station. It was unclear what caused the explosions, but they set off raging fires that could be seen from far in the distance.
An Associated Press reporting team outside the base heard at least six other explosions and sporadic gunfire.
Authorities sent in several dozen navy and police commandos to battle the attackers, who responded with gunfire and grenades, said Salman Ali, another navy spokesman. At least two P-3C Orions, maritime surveillance aircraft given to Pakistan by the U.S., were destroyed, he said.
The United States handed over two Orions to the Pakistani navy at a ceremony at the base in June 2010 attended by 250 Pakistani and American officials, according to the website of the U.S. Central Command. It said by late 2012, Pakistan would have eight of the planes.
At least one media report said a team of American technicians were working on the aircraft at the time of the strike, but U.S. Embassy spokesman Alberto Rodriguez said no Americans were on the base. Ali also stated there was no foreigners inside the base.
Karachi, a city of around 18 million people, has not been spared the violence sweeping the country, despite being in the south far from the northwest where militancy is at its strongest. In April, militants bombed three buses taking navy employees to work, killing at least nine people.
The Pakistani Taliban and other militant groups have little direct public support, but the army and the government have struggled to convince the people of the need for armed operations against them. The militants' identification with Islam, strong anti-American rhetoric and support for insurgents in Afghanistan resonates with some in the country.
Unless this is a self-goal by the pakistanis. Like the Lahore attack on the srilankans.
They want to show that they are sacrificing so much in the war on terror.
Perhaps they felt that the P-3Cs, Fokker-27s and the Atlantiques are old. And they deserve the P-8As as baksheesh.
This is la la land we are talking about. There are no guarantees as to what line of thinking they have. It may sound loony to any reasonable individual, but to them the reasonableness just about starts to begin.
With all due respect, we also can't rule out Mormons affected by death rays from Mars, but let's use Occam's Razor shall we? There's only a thin line that separates nuance from conspiratorial hogwash.

Absolutely. Simple theories work almost all the time. This is retribution by the 'bad Taliban' for the killing of OBL. The 'Nation of Holier Islam' is attacking the 'Nation of Corrupt Islam'. The message here is that the state of Pakistan would have to be ridden of the vestiges of the US. Thus, the target was carefully chosen.
Secondly, there is no doubt there is insider help. But, this is not mutiny. A number of ex-PAF personnel are part of the 'bad Taliban'. They have taken part in many terror attacks against the State including the three attempts on the life of Gen. Musharraf. Many serving PAF officers & men were caught, courtmartialled and executed. This may also be a similar type of attack.
Who knows attacking the PN base and destroying the P-3C might be the smoke screen. IMO, The real target might be the aircraft delivered miniature nuclear bombs and they have succeeded in getting one of those. Its a pure insider job and the war is between Allah's army and Kaffir (US/Chinese) trained army.
Shiv saar,
You are right. A raid like this is NOT possible by just looking at google earth.
One has to have local knowledge, some person on the inside has to give detailed maps/draw maps.
Someone has to give out the latest intel, guard positions, troops quarters, QRT locations etc etc. A thousand things are needed.
Then the talibs would possibly even have done a mock runs at some base in NWFP/KP measuring distances involved etc.
The aircraft that were destroyed might be the ones which were immobile due to repairs at the hangers.
Like in the LTTE raid at Colombo Airport, the LTTE simply fired their RPGs at the planes and their final tally was like half to one dozen aircraft, including some boeing airliners!
There has to be insider support on this.
Did they find some insiders involved in the GHQ pindi attack?
That exactly is their weak point which they want to strengthen, recalling India's rampage on Karachi long ago.Definitely not a place for hiding nukes, but Nuclear Subs would be there?

I suspect the more pious are holed up with live torpedoes and bombs around them to any rpg-phyrr will take them and the base together

muahahahahahahaha
Bullshit. All bullshit.
The Pakistani Taliban and other militant groups have little direct public support - rubbish!
the army and the government have struggled to convince the people of the need for armed operations against them. - where? When?
I think the Paqui's finally are so demoralized after the Emir's meeting 72 in Abbotabad incident that they have given up playing tricks/blackmail with the Khan. So I would forget this being an inside job to get new maal from the Khan for stuff lost in Goat/Woat.
They are now 99.9% throwing their fortunes in the hands of the tallel than fliend as far as their only fliend. The US can now kiss its As$ goodbye is TSP. They may continue some help in WOT strictly for cash, but that's about it.
There was even talk in their news about threatening Khan with n-bums is so-virginity is violated again ala Abbotabad, to which Ombaba said he would do it again given a legit target.
The TTP are just out for revenge here, and even the dumb and deaf admit that.

Sanjeevpunj - no offence meant - take my words as a friendly jibe - but we need to get together one day and exchange what we smoke and try out each other's pushers

What would be the next step in escalation? A bad-taliban PAF sqdn Leader taking off with fully loaded F-16 and taking out the whiskey drinking jernails? hain ji? wawww would love that!!

You mean the prostitute got raped and now wants an old friend to marry her? I've not had so much fun for years. Last time was definitely before 26/11.
