The navy base under attack is 15 miles (24 km) from the Masroor Air Base, Pakistan’s largest and a possible depot for nuclear weapons.

“They (militants) were carrying guns, rocket-propelled grenades (RPG) and hand grenades. They hit the aircraft with an RPG,” Navy spokesman Commander Salman Ali said of the militants.

About 200 SSG commandos and rangers are deployed

Taliban chief Mullah Omar detained in Pakistan: Afghan television

KABUL, July 6 (Xinhua) -- An Afghan popular television channel Tolo citing Pakistani media reported Tuesday that Taliban chief Mullah Mohammad Omar has been arrested in Pakistan.

Tolo also showed a picture of the one-eyed Mullah Omar without giving more details.

Meantime, a Taliban spokesman Qari Yusuf Ahmadi in talks with Xinhua via telephone from undisclosed location rejected the report as mere western propaganda, saying Taliban chief is free, and enjoys sound health and in full command of his fighters.

Previously, Taliban second-in-command Mullah Brather was arrested in Karachi city of Pakistan months ago.

Taliban militants have vowed to intensify activities against Afghan and NATO-led troops based in Afghanistan.

Most probably, to avert Geronimo 2, IMO.

According to the source, Mullah Omar has been killed two days ago.

Hours after OBL was killed, i did mention on the TSP thread that Pakis will kill Mullah Omar and offer his head to DC to contain Sherkhan's anger. Mullah Omar was as good as dead the day OBL was killed by the Americans. Pakis and their "strategic brilliance" have once again put themselves between rock and a hard place. They had no where out other than to kill Mullah Omar, and try to inject Hekmatiyar/Haqqani into Afghanistan's 'democracy'.

If Mullah O is also killed, then there will be heightened pressure on BO to pull out of af-pak asap and let the porkis rot in their own stew. If they do an accelerated pullout then the condom is sure to remain and spoil the fun for everyone else.

It might still be the porkis doing their i'll cut my own hand to ensure that I get a better deal next round. If the americans pull out and the haqqani faction stays, porkis get to call the shots by claiming phyrrrric victory over the kaffir americans and still pull strings in afghanistan.
