Guys...beleive it or not, last night I was thinking of the possibility BLA or Taliban launching a similar attack on the Agosta submarines based in Karachi with hand grenades in retribution for OBL's killing.

Hope to Allah that my wish comes true soon.

One thing I am wondering about.

Why did the attackers stop at just one or two planes? They had the entire line-up to go after.

Maybe Singha's hypothesis about the nangi ladki is correct. Serious.

Kuwait bans visa issuance to five nationalities (including pakistan)
http://gulfnews.com/news/gulf/kuwait/ku ... s-1.810834
Manama: Kuwait has banned nationals from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan from entering the country, local media have reported.

The ban includes suspending all tourism, visit and trade visas as well as visas sponsored by spouses, immigration sources said, quoted by Kuwaiti media on Saturday.

They attributed the blanket visa ban to the "difficult security conditions in the five countries" and to "the remarkably increasing tendency of nationals from the five countries to apply for visas to bring in relatives who faced or could face arrest by the local authorities to Kuwait."

The sources said the authorities insisted that no exception in the visa application would be tolerated,

Why did the attackers stop at just one or two planes? They had the entire line-up to go after.
you need explosives to blow up planes.

^^ How do we know more planes havent been hallaled? Its just TSPA inputs we are currently depending on.

Real picture will emerge in few days ( IMHO, 10 KIA is a BS number. Am sure more met their 72 from TSPA/N end)

From Yawn:
On Monday, Afghanistan’s privately owned TOLO television reported Omar had been killed in Pakistan, while on the way from Quetta to North Waziristan. There was no immediate comment from the Taliban.

According to television reports, ex-ISI chief Hamid Gul was shifting Omar when he was shot and killed.

Why terrorists targeted the Pak naval base
The Faisal Base of the Pakistan Air Force located about 10 kilometres from the Karachi international airport is what the PAF calls a joint user airfield. It is used by the PAF and the air arms of the Pakistan army and navy as well as by the VVIP squadron. All air surveillance movements over the sea -- whether by the PAF or by the army or by the PN -- are controlled from this base.

Since 1975, the operating base of the Naval Air Arm, called PNS Mehran, is located inside this airfield. All senior officers of the Naval Air Arm operate from PNS Mehran.

The Naval Air Arm at PNS Mehran is headed by Commander Naval Aviation (COMNAV). Under him there are four Heads of Department designated as Commander Air (Cdr Air), Commander Air Engineering Department (Cdr AED), Commanding Officer MEHRAN (CO MEH) and Officer Commanding Naval Aviation Training School (OC NATS).

The squadrons of the Naval Air Arm are stationed in PNS Mehran. These are the P3C Orion Squadron (28 Sqn), the Atlantic Squadron (29 Sqn), the Fokker Squadron (27 Sqn), the Seaking Squadron (111 Sqn) and the Alouette Squadron (333 Sqn).
This counter-terrorism role consists of air surveillance to prevent any sea-borne intrusions of Al Qaeda and to detect any terrorist plans for attacks on ships bringing supplies for the NATO forces in Afghanistan. The supplies are landed in the Karachi port and then moved by trucks to Afghanistan.

While the Pakistani army and air force have no operational role to play in the US-led military operations in the Afghan territory against Al Qaeda and the Neo Taliban, the Pakistani navy is a member of the US-led international naval force which patrols the seas to the west of Pakistan to prevent any hostile activity which could hamper the operations in Afghan territory.

The Combined Task Force 150, established at the beginning of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001, comprises naval forces from France, Germany, Italy, Pakistan, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The task force conducts maritime security operations in the Gulf of Aden, the Gulf of Oman, the Arabian Sea, the Red Sea, and the Indian Ocean. The leadership of the Task Force is rotated amongst the participating navies. A Pakistani naval officer has been commanding it off and on when the turn of the Pakistan navy comes.
The first two of these aircraft were delivered in April 2010 and officially inducted into the Naval Air Arm at a function held at PNS Mehran on June 2, 2010. Some more of the remaining five have since been inducted, but their number is not known. These planes are generally kept in hangars belonging to the Naval Air Arm and operate from the joint user airfield.

they surely won't have unlimited explosives. they might even want to keep some for tackling the SSG. and magazines of AK phyrr lighting up fuel tank happens in hollywood, quite rare in real life. for one, planes are not stored fully fueled.

:(( All reports of MO being killed are unconfirmed.

Pakis claiming that it is Afghan propoganda to give Pak a bad name.
TeT claims MO is alive and well.

Afghan govt claims that MO has been out of touch for 3-5 days. (Depends on who is talking)
Wasn't a drone attack but an ambush.

Terrorists attack Pakistan military base, at least 5 killed
Around 15-20 gunmen struck PNS Mehran, the naval air station within Faisal airbase, at about 10.40pm last night, lobbying grenades and firing indiscriminately with automatic weapons that triggered gun battles with security forces.

Fifteen loud explosions were heard from the base, the headquarters of Pakistan's naval air arm, following the attack and intermittent firing was reported till this morning.

inert bullets will not light up a aircraft fuel tank. they are self sealing and the bullets are just pieces of metal. incendiary cannon rounds could do it, but no simple ak47 bullets.

More on MO. His Post Mortem is being conducted.!
Mullah Mohammad Omar has been killed and his body is under postmortem studies at the coroners’ office,” a senior Afghan official told FNA this morning on the condition of anonymity.

The Afghan official said that the Taliban leader has been killed in Pakistan’s Quetta city.

The source further pointed out that senior Taliban leaders had failed to establish a contact with Mullah Mohammad Omar since al-Qaeda Leader Osama bin Laden was allegedly killed in his compound near Islamabad almost two weeks ago.

Afghan and Pakistani local media and TV networks also confirmed the report.

“Mullah Omar was killed on his way from Quetta to North Waziristan,” TOLO television said in its news bulletin.

Look here:

Are these TELARs? Do these have MRBMs on them? The M-11 is about the size that these TELARs are.

Or are these Fire trucks (Shouldn't they be painted Red) or Oil Tankers or some Radar trucks?

Anyone?
