^^ The camo they are wearing is same as "normal" IA jawans but the swagger and way of carrying themselves itself seems to give away the SF folks in the vid

sum-ji - with respect. This is a highly SDRE way of talking. the TFTA way would be to say that every single Indian soldier has a confident swagger and does not need to be SF to learn swagger.

Besides - it is a typical American "Yippee -it's the marines" legend that attributes a special "swagger" to SF guys. They look and act like anyone else. They are trained to perform different, that's all.

Thanks for the vid- really makes India (BSF) look mature as they have chosen to take the high ground. Good to know BSF are more rational then the immature Pakistani Rangers.

It says NAG seeker range is only 3km, whereas I learnt earlier that NAG will have 4+ km range.

One of my gora friends in office showed me, he praised SDREs so much. He is not exactly a Pakee lover but he said,The restraint shown by SDREs with Pakees will win them the larger war. It is very easy to get provoked and lose ones cool, you are better off this way... I don't exactly agree with everything he said, but thanked him for the warm words about SDRE professionalism. another instance of dog wagging the tail.

Thanks Nachiket, it was a great clip... Jingos heart would have thrilled many fold to see a video of the venerable Foxbat in IAF colors... I think we have to be content with seeing pics of these birds.

Guys, I just got this website from a friend... it is a blog by an US Air Force guy who has traveled for an year in India visiting various Indian bases etc. He is studying in the DSC Wellington (at that time) and is now back in Hawaii.
http://heretherebemonkeys.blogspot.com/ ... t-one.html
There are many interesting pictures and Videos in the Five part series.
Interesting videos - Part 3 - Video of a ZSU-23 firing and Video of two Strela air defense vehicles
I wonder how come an US airforce officer (Political-Military Affairs Strategist) had such deep access to so many places in the Army and Navy. Speaks volumes about the level of interaction our armed forces have been having...
I checked his FB page.. he has been awarded a master degree from University of Madras!!!
Enjoy.

Night Exercise of three IAF's Transport Aircrafts Probably a repeat but it is beautiful
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nx5RravXRDE
this video is part of a series of 30 videos and marks the end of the exercise, all 30 are a treat to watch.

The most intriguing video of VayuShakti 2010 was an AN-32 performing a role of a Bomber and dropping 10x1000lb bombs.

he would have got the degree because he was attending the Staff College in Wellington. I think the degree is MA in Defence and Strategic Studies. Also, he would have visited these places as part of the country wide tour all the DSSC Officers take. Please read the blog carefully, it will have all the details.

I had a quick look at his blog. While it is interesting, I somehow have a feeling that he would have been happier doing the course ( or something similar) in Pakistan.

I suspect the video is fake. That Chinook looks like it is dropping a load of fuel oil on a target below somewhat like using a flame thrower. The helo stays up in the air. The final still is merely a tracer being fired from a cannon on the Chinook

I thought that 2 shots were fired by the militants. The first shot missed the helo and hit the fuel it was carrying below and the second one hit the target, but I could be wrong.

Great video indeed! Good to see the AMC folks getting some recognition for their work!

Small nitpick:
Whats with this tendency, by NDTV and the rest of em (I think Times Now is notorious for this), to have a scrolling or static 'Message Bar' at the bottom with changing 'catch phrases'. There were times when I was pulling my hair out trying to identify the title of the officer being interviewed and some key aspect was hidden by this annoying bar.
