Identity crisis
It can now be definitively stated that Interior Minister Rehman Malik is a Pakistani. And only a Pakistani. He has now renounced his British citizenship and no longer finds himself at odds with the constitution or the courts that had rejected the documentation he had offered as proof of his renouncing of British citizenship. Rumour and counter-rumour had swirled around for a fortnight. Mr Malik has extensive business and financial interests in the UK as well as close family connections and his wife remains a British citizen as well as a Pakistani. 8) In another interesting aside Mr Malik has confirmed on Twitter that he had also remained honorary consul general of the unknown African state of Niger in UK before he took up high positions in Pakistan. In what conditions that happened and why is not yet known. The circumstances of his renouncement make interesting reading. It will be recalled that Mr Malik stated that he had renounced his British citizenship in 2008, but this is not the case at all. He appeared in person at the British Home Office in London on Monday 28, May to complete the necessary paperwork and pay the GBP 299 fee (which he claimed to have already paid). His British citizenship was formally revoked on May 30, 2012, just over four years after the date that he claimed it to have been. This is remarkably quick work, and his application must have been fast-tracked for it to be resolved so promptly.

India looks at the US to check fake currency notes
India is all set to ask the US to help it curb the menace, mostly originating from Pakistan.
"As far as FICN is concerned, we are worried about it and we will spare nobody who carries FICN. We will stamp down heavily on those who circulate FICN and we will punish the traffickers very severely," he had said last month.
And we will severely punish pakistan by giving up Siachen. There you go pakis; rot in hell after we climb down. he he haaaa haaaa haaaaaa.

Budget for armed forces should be audited: Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan joined the chorus in criticising the government over the budget presented for the year 2012-13, by condemning the amount allocated to the armed forces. “The budget for the armed forces should be audited.”

Imran Khan’s problem
But the acerbic few are quick to point out that he has already made fatal miscalculations on foreign policy and defence matters. In a country which is at war with itself, he advocates a simplistic policy of non-violence against those who pose an existential threat to the polity. And at a time when the nation is reeling under the impact of lack of foreign empathy, he actively campaigns for a foreign policy of dramatic isolationism. And the cherry on the top is that on both issues, he has no elaborate plan, no detailed blueprint. And yet, neither he nor his supporters understand that the critics of his policies are not his personal enemies.

The story doesn’t end here. He has made countless unrealistic and unimaginative promises like eliminating corruption and terrorism in 90 days, introducing alternative sources of energy to control the all-pervasive power breakdowns and what some are calling IKnomics. Of course, these promises are music to the ears of a gullible people starved of hope. But the real problem lies not in making such promises, but in fulfilling them successfully. The Herculean task of winning an election looks like child’s play in comparison.

In his bid to win the elections, Imran Khan is setting himself up for post-election failure. And the people rallying around him are a motley crowd. Does this remind you of anyone else from Pakistani history? Soft on right wing political ideologies, deliberately ambiguous on political philosophy and helpless before the exaggerated expectations of their voters and supporters? Not one, but two individuals come to mind — Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. And we all know that the political careers and personal lives of both the Quaid-e-Azam and the Quaid-e-Awam were nothing short of insurmountable tragedies. Mr Khan should learn from the mistakes of these stalwarts, not because of their failures, but because they, too, were taken hostage by their supporters.

In short, if Imran Khan really means business he needs to fold back his unrealistic promises and seize the moment. He has earned quite a few believers. Now is the time to influence them and change them with the truth. It is time to tell them how weak a country Pakistan has become and the possible outcomes that reality entails. Introduce a realistic roadmap and be honest. Or else sir, remember that you were warned.

4 Pakistani women killed for dance with men
Four women condemned to death by a tribal jirga or council for dancing and singing with men at a wedding in northern Pakistan have been killed, TV news channels reported on Sunday.
There was confusion about the number of women reportedly killed. Geo News channel reported that four women were killed while The Express Tribune reported on its website that five women were killed. The fifth woman was the sister of one the women , the report said.
I hope we can flag this news for reference. There is something that has fundamentally altered with pakis since they have moved from their Indic genes which makes me totally convinced that we can never assimilate them. Classic case of how innocent women were killed when every one knew that the video was doctored. Still there is always some Abdul who is ready to kill on any pretex to get their 72 in this life and after

Dr. Afridi was introduced to CIA by British Aid Agency|His wife is a US citizen and runs a school in Pakistan| True to Paki style Afridi extracted more money from CIA for HVT fake polio campaign

The doctor used to work as a surgeon in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of the Khyber Agency, which is notorious for militancy and sectarian violence.

He was accused of having conducted a fake polio vaccination campaign in the Bilal Town area of Abbottabad (in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) between March 15 and 18 and April 21 and 23, 2011 to get DNA samples of the residents of the strange compound where Osama was hiding.

Afridi is reported to have assisted the CIA in the final confirmation of Osama's hideout by speaking on the phone to the supposed owner of the compound, Arshad Khan alias Sheikh Abu Ahmed al Kuwaiti, who was the most trusted courier for the slain Al Qaeda leader.

Using satellite photos and voice recordings, the CIA sought to identify the inhabitants of the fortified compound. The samples of Kuwaiti's voice, which were taken by Afridi, actually provided the final confirmation to the CIA that the man seen by their drones inside the compound was none other than Osama bin Laden.

Dr Afridi was born in 1962 in a small village of the Malikdinkhel Afridi tribe in Bara subdivision of the Khyber Agency. His father was an agriculturist and a known tribal elder loyal to the British government in undivided India.

In recognition of his services, the British government had awarded him several acres of agricultural land in Multan. Dr Afridi and his family used to travel to the Multan districts in winter where he met Imrana Ghafoor, who hailed from a well-educated family in Abbottabad, and later married her.

Dr Afridi graduated from the Khyber Medical College in Peshawar in 1991 and started his career as a doctor in the Khyber Agency the same year. He shifted his family from the Bara subdivision to Hayatabad in Peshawar after being appointed health officer of the Khyber Agency.

As health officer of the Khyber Agency, Dr Afridi used to treat wounded Taliban leaders including the amir of the Khyber Agency-based Lashkar-e-Islami, Commander Mangal Bagh.{So Paki govt. doctors treat injured Taliban leaders}

What turned him against the Taliban was his 2007 abduction by Mangal Bagh's henchmen who thrashed him for charging huge fees from some wounded militants.
Dr Afridi was held hostage by Lashkar-e-Islami militants for several weeks and released only after his family paid a huge ransom.

Since his wife Imrana Ghafoor (who was the headmistress at a government-run girls school) was an American national, Dr Afridi left for the United States along with his family in 2008. {As always every Paki has a GC or Amreekhan Citizenship. Mind you, this was a man who was involved heavily with Talibs. God Bless America and its immigration policy that allows Pakis}

Although he returned to Pakistan a few months later, his family stayed back in the US.

During 2009-2010, Dr Afridi met with American officials in Islamabad and Peshawar many times and agreed to become a CIA mole.

According to his confession to his Pakistani interrogators, Dr Afridi claimed he was introduced to the CIA by the British humanitarian group, Save the Children, which helps support children in developing countries.

Save the Children has refuted Dr Afridi's claim, saying the allegation has had a negative impact on its ability to operate inside Pakistan. He was asked by the Americans to spy for them in Mansehra, Hassan Abdal and Kamrah areas of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under cover of an anti-polio campaign.

His CIA contact was known to him as 'Peter' whom he would pass on information through a satellite phone. According to his interrogators, Dr Afridi hired office space in Abbottabad, arranged for the testing of blood samples at a local hospital on cash payment and also hired the services of a lady health worker, who had no idea for whom she was working for.

Dr Afridi was told by Peter to focus on Bilal Town and Nawan Shehr. In April, he was told to try obtaining samples from the house where Osama bin Laden was suspected to be a resident.

Although he did not know why he was being asked to do so, Dr Afridi began to suspect a high value target lived there. He asked for, and received, an extra $10,000 for this task. {Being a true Paki here}

On receiving the money on April 26, 2011, he was asked by Peter to try and obtain blood samples of all residents of the compound.

In the event he was not permitted to do so, he was provided a cell number, and instructed to ask his female assistant to call and speak in Urdu with some English thrown in, as if she was more comfortable in English.

After their failure to directly approach residents of the compound, Afridi's assistant made the phone call on the evening of April 26. A male voice responded and handed her over to Khairee, one of Osama's three wives.

They spoke in English and when the puzzled female assistant found that she could not make sense of what Khairee was saying, she handed the phone back to Dr Afridi.

Khairee continued to speak nonstop in English for a minute or so and then concluded with some foul language in Arabic.

According to Dr Afridi's interrogators, he was instructed to tape the conversation. He handed over his cell phone as well as the tape to Peter after the conversation was over.

He also decided to make a copy of the taped conversation for himself as well, that was later seized by operatives of Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence
.
Dr Afridi finally collected blood samples from Osama bin laden's compound on April 27 which matched DNA tests from a laboratory in Washington, DC.

On May 2, US Navy Seals arrived in two helicopters, raided bin Laden's hideout, killed him and eventually buried him at sea. Peter flew out of Pakistan the same day.

Dr Afridi disappeared after the operation and went underground. He was arrested by Pakistani security agencies at the Torkham border on May 22 while trying to cross over to Afghanistan, 20 days after bin Laden had been killed.

His 33-year sentence has clearly become a thorn in already tense Pakistan-US relations. Shocked over the decision to imprison Dr Afridi for 33 years, two US Senators have asked Pakistan to pardon and release him immediately.

'It is shocking and outrageous that Shakil Afridi, the Pakistani doctor who assisted the US in the search for Osama bin Laden, has been sentenced to 33 years in prison for the crime of treason,' Senators John McCain and Carl Levin said in a joint statement.

'We call upon the Pakistani government to pardon and release Dr Afridi immediately. At a time when the US and Pakistan need more than ever to work constructively together, Afridi's continuing imprisonment and treatment as a criminal will only do further harm to US-Pakistani relations, including diminishing Congress's willingness to provide financial assistance to Pakistan,' the two Senators said.

McCain and Levin said that what Dr Afridi did was a courageous, heroic, and patriotic act, :rotfl: {Dollars, Dollars and more dollars} which helped locate the most wanted terrorist in the world -- a mass murderer who had the blood of many innocent Pakistanis on his hands.

Pakistan's foreign office spokesman has made it clear that Dr Afridi has been dealt with according to the laws of the land and the sentence awarded to him is an internal matter of Pakistan.

'No foreign country,' the spokesman added, 'has any right to interfere in the internal affairs of Pakistan.'{Not if the Price is Right}

^^ Good solid HUMINT operation run by the CIA with ample help from their Brit poodles under the guise of a Brit NGO. Wish we get to read about some similar Indian HUMINT operations in future.

Wonder how many Indians have these NGOs turned over in Desh to work as moles?

That is the eighth drone strike in Paki stan since Zardari was snubbed by Obama in NATO's Chicago conference on A'stan.

Pakistan seeks AIR's help on Jinnah's 'secular state' speech - Anita Joshua in The Hindu
Taking advantage of the improved climate between the two countries, Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) has requested All India Radio (AIR) for a copy of founding father Mohammad Ali Jinnah's August 11, 1947, speech in which he said “religion or caste or creed… has nothing to do with the business of the State''.

Director-General of PBC Murtaza Solangi wrote to his AIR counterpart last week after verbal requests to various functionaries of the Government of India including Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar yielded no results. Last week, he requested Pakistan's High Commissioner in India Shahid Malik to take up the matter with AIR and has since been told the request would be looked into.

Mr. Solangi told The Hindu that if a copy of the speech of utmost importance to Pakistan was given to PBC, due acknowledgement would be given to AIR and a ceremony would be organised to celebrate the handing over.

This is one recording of Jinnah's that PBC does not have; primarily because it was done by a team sent from Delhi just ahead of Partition. At the time of Partition, what was to become Pakistan had three AIR stations: one each in Lahore, Peshawar and Dhaka. However, the Lahore and Peshawar stations were Class B stations without recording facilities. As a result, AIR sent a team from Delhi to record the August 11 address of Jinnah to the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan in Karachi after his election as its first President.

The speech is of great significance to Pakistan :rotfl: as it battles to reclaim the nation that Jinnah had envisaged.{Apologists for Jinnah have always quoted his August 11, 1947 speech to make him out to be a secularist to the core who wanted a modern and secular Pakistan. He might have been a secular person personally but that certainly did not extend beyond that. The August 11, 1947 speech was the one and only time he feebly tried to refer to a secular state. Having used Islamic symbolism and Islamic violence to carve out a nation purely on the basis of religion, it would have been impossible to go back to secularism and Jinnah knew that. He had already promised or hinted to many Islamists that Shariah will be the basis for the new country. The most charitable conclusion therefore is that he said palatable things for a Western ear in order to strengthen his case for large aid that Pakistan sorely needed from day one of its independent existence. The people of Pakistan did not realize Jinnah's taqiyya in the same way the 'bad Taliban' did not understand Musharraf's. } In fact, according to historian Mubarak Ali, the speech was censored because it caused great discomfort within the Muslim League and the bureaucracy. A serious attempt was made to censor the speech before it was published in newspapers. After Jinnah's death, the direction given in that speech was replaced with the Objectives Resolution that laid the foundations of an Islamic state.

Subsequently also, various attempts have been made to black out the speech. Former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto claimed that attempts were made to burn the speech and a concerted effort was made during the regime of military dictator Zia-ul Haq to remove all reference to that historic address from textbooks. Given the circumstances, securing a copy of the speech is more than just a case of getting access to a recording of archival importance to Pakistan.

The idea may be tempting but is based on misreading of Pakistan IMO.

The Aman ki Asha people and the Pakis they want to be friendly with are both shocked by these killings because they are on the same boat on this issue. The women killed for dancing with men are in the NWFP which is a province that is not fully in Pakistani control. But Pakis pretend that al iz vel.

When Indian guests visit Pakistan they are actually provided armed escort if they go anywhere near "dangerous" areas. This is what makes Indians so grateful and convinced that they are dealing with rational people. Pakistan is like a man attending an interview for Newsreader on TV. He is wearing a shirt, coat and tie. But the shirt and coat are ripped to shreds below hip level. He has no underwear, trousers or shoes. One leg is chopped off and the other is a mass of oozing pustules that stink. Provided you focus on this man's chest and face from the front he looks like any other smart reporter. For this reason he demands that he should get the job and the rest of him should be ignored. And Indians are doing just that - ignoring the rest of Pakistan and engaging the bits they can relate to.

Djinnah probably never made that speech because if he did then the WKKs, Kangressis and paid mediawaalas would have gone out of their way to prove that Djinnah was more secular than Gandhi and Secularasura
Fvck I am getting allergic at the thought of hearing the word secular.

If I was a GOI baabu, I would have handed over to them after due ceremony copies of tapes of Mushy's conversations with Cheena mai baap or the tapes of pajis pleading for help during /IA/IAF bombardment at Kargil or the conversations of the 26/11 chadarmods with ISI maaibaap

Police in Pakistan on Tuesday arrested a Muslim cleric accused of sentencing six people to death for singing and dancing at a wedding in the north of the country."Police have arrested a cleric and his companion for issuing the death decree, but they totally denied it," local administration official Aqal Badshah Khattak told AFP."The cleric has said he had no role in the decree and his name was misused," Khattak said. Police told AFP on Monday that clerics sentenced four women and two men to death after mobile phone footage emerged of them enjoying themselves at a village wedding in the mountains of Kohistan district, 175 kilometres (110 miles) north of the capital Islamabad. The men and women had allegedly danced and sung together in Gada village, in defiance of strict tribal customs that separate men and women at weddings. He said the video was recorded three years ago and then edited in an attempt to implicate the party goers."I am satisfied that there is no danger to the life of the girls," he said.
So the Cops were satisfied that there was no danger to the women..now that was just 4 days ago..so now that they are killed, i guess so what for the cops? Just another day in Bakistan.

Pakistan seeks $2000 transit fee for each NATO tanker
Pakistan has reportedly demanded $1800 to $2000 as the fee for every NATO container truck and tanker during negotiations with the US for reopening supply routes for foreign troops in Afghanistan.

Earlier, the US had refused to accept Pakistan's demand of $5000 a truck. Since then, negotiations have been underway and Pakistan has now proposed a fee of between $1800 and $2000.

"Once the deal is finalised, it will end the standoff between the US and Pakistan over the NATO supply routes, which started in November over the killing of 24 Pakistani soldiers in a NATO air strike on Salala check post," a Pakistani government official told PTI.

He said that Pakistan could no longer bear the US pressure for reopening the NATO routes as the country's financial interests were attached to the issue.

On the other hand, the Defa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC), a grouping of over 40 hardline and extremist groups cobbled together by Jamaat-ud-Dawah Chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, has warned that it would organise a "long march" if the federal government reopens the supply routes that were closed after the NATO air strike.

"We have also learnt that the Pakistani government has almost agreed to reopen the NATO routes by charging 2000 dollars from the US for each truck," said Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Munawar Hassan, who is a part of the DPC.

He said that Pakistan was facing "extreme pressure" from the US in this regard.

"We think the government cannot sustain the American pressure and it will surely reopen the NATO supply routes in the near future," he said.

Pakistan is an addict in addition to being a prostitute.

When the U.S. reduces forces in Afghanistan, the supply needs will be smaller and less truck traffic via Pakistan.

Reduced truck traffic means less funds for Pakistan and more begging bowl.

Pakistan wants visa pact inked with eye on next year's general polls
After failing to sign the liberalised visa agreement at last month's home secretary level talks, Pakistan wants to ink the pact during External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna's visit to Islamabad in mid-July.

Pakistan reportedly wants a political authority as signatory to the agreement - enabling wider people to people contacts - rather than bureaucrats signing it. It has been learnt that the ruling Pakistan People's Party (PPP) is keen to showcase the new visa regime as their achievement ahead of general polls in the country in early 2013.

Pakistan’s social indicators almost reach their nadir
International bodies have identified 69 poorly performing countries as far as social sector (health, education and poverty alleviation) is concerned and among them three worst performing states are: Pakistan, Ghana and Uganda
Tawodors Melesse, one of the international dignitaries, who dared visit Pakistan despite all travel advisories, says: “What we need to project is that family planning process is not a contraceptives dispensing machine, rather it is about world peace and prosperity. Only a prosperous family can be at peace with itself and with society. Peace travels upwards; from family to locality, to city, to country and finally to the globe. At the heart of international peace is thus a small family of individuals.

Indian bananas in high demand in Pakistan
Bananas imported from India, following a decline in domestic production, are being sold in cities across Pakistan for a whopping Rs 180 to Rs 200 a dozen.

Indian bananas were initially imported for markets in the most populous province of Punjab and are now being supplied to the southern province of Sindh, which produces most of the country's banana crop.
When the Indian bananas were introduced in markets across Islamabad a few weeks ago, they sold for as much as Rs 300 a dozen. With supplies improving, the price has now fallen to Rs 180 to Rs 200 a dozen.

Pakistani bananas sell for about Rs 70 to Rs 80 a dozen. :((
{what is wrong with baki banana? :eek: }
Shop-keepers in Islamabad point out the Indian bananas to customers, saying they are larger and tastier than the local variety.

How to Repair the U.S. Pakistan Relationship
Pakistani-American relations are broken. President Obama refused to meet with President Asif Ali Zardari at the Chicago NATO summit last month. The new head of Pakistani intelligence—the ISI—canceled his trip to Langley to see the CIA.
The most divisive issue today is Afghanistan. Obama has signed a long-term strategic pact with Kabul to give the U.S. access to Afghan bases until at least 2024 to fight terror. We know we can't count on Pakistan to do that job. NATO and the U.N. back the Kabul government as the legitimate and elected authority in Afghanistan. Pakistan harbors and helps the Taliban. Interrogations of 4,000 captured insurgents in Afghanistan show that the ISI guides its strategy, finds it funds, and keeps in tight contact with its leaders, including Mullah Omar. Without Pakistani safe havens and ISI assistance, the Taliban would be a much less formidable enemy.
American diplomacy can make this case to Islamabad, but only the Pakistanis can decide to take charge and act. If they don't, then the U.S. should encourage India to play a larger role in Afghanistan. India already has a major aid program and is considering building a railroad to link Afghanistan to the Arabian Sea via Iran. India could help build and pay for the Afghan army. If the Pakistani generals see that encouraging Taliban intransigence is creating their worst nightmare—an Afghan-Indian-American alliance—then they may finally wake up to the foolishness of their policies.
We need to be careful with these ullus.

To recoup their loss in the war on terror, Pakistan has declared a war on the loss of terror.
