There is need to change non-qualified personnel in Islamic banking besides staff from conventional banks into Islamic financial experts so that Islamic banking could be run by qualified Islamic bankers.

ISAF kills Lashkar-e-Taiba's leader for Kunar in airstrike
Coalition and Afghan special operations forces killed the leader of the al Qaeda-linked, Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, or Army of the Pure, during an airstrike yesterday in the remote eastern province Kunar.Khatab Shafiq, "the LeT's [Lashkar-e-Taiba's] senior leader in Kunar province," and numerous "insurgents" were killed during two airstrikes in Kunar's Watahpur district yesterday, the International Security Assistance Force said in a press release. "[T]he security force engaged the insurgents with a precision airstrike away from all civilian structures," ISAF said. "After the strike, the Afghan and coalition security force conducted a follow-on assessment and confirmed Khatab Shafiq, along with multiple other insurgents, had been killed." The special operations force directed a second airstrike after identifying "several more armed insurgents in the immediate area." ISAF said that no civilians were killed in either strike. Shafiq's "country of origin was Pakistan," a spokesman for ISAF's Joint Command Media Operations told The Long War Journal.ISAF said that Shafiq "was responsible for several attacks against Afghan and coalition forces, and provided money, weapons and training to insurgents in the region." He also "established multiple insurgent training camps in eastern Afghanistan, where insurgents learned how to use mortars, rockets and machine guns. Most recently, he was involved with teaching insurgents how to build and emplace improvised explosive devices."
NEW DELHI: After the arrest of 26/11 handler Abu Jundal, India is on the verge of another success in Saudi Arabia having convinced the authorities there to deport Bihar engineer Fasih Mahmood, accused of carrying out terror strikes in India and recruiting youths for terror-related activities.
Highly placed sources in the government said India issued an identity certificate to the Saudi authorities for Fasih last week after Pakistani agencies too laid claim by stating that Fasih had a valid Pakistani passport. Pakistani agencies had made a similar claim for Jundal.
Sources said US pressure helped in swinging the case in India's favour.
Another suspect to be deported with Fasih
Saudi authorities said they had the option of ignoring the identity certificate issued by India through the ministry of external affairs for terror suspect Fasih Mahmood to counter Pakistan's claim that he was a Pakistani national. Sources said that US pressure helped swing the case in India's favour. In fact, it was Washington that had worked on the Saudis to get Fasih detained in the first place.
It is also learnt that the Saudis have agreed to deport another Indian terror suspect along with Fasih, but his identity has not been confirmed yet. Indian authorities suspect Fasih is linked with Riyaz Bhatkal and Iqbal Bhatkal, leaders of LeT proxy Indian Mujahideen (IM).
Sources say the two absconding terrorists won Fasih over when he was studying engineering in Karnataka. The engineer from Bihar's Darbhanga district has since tried to find new recruits for LeT plots. A CBI team is likely to be sent to Riyadh to bring him back.
Sources said they had to face stiff opposition from Pakistani agencies bent on proving that Fasih was a Pakistani national. He was even said to have a passport issued from Lahore. "Fasih was obviously in regular touch with agencies in Pakistan which tried to protect him," said a source. Pakistani agencies apparently wanted Fasih to be either released or sent to Pakistan.
Indian agencies said his interrogation will be crucial because as a prime recruiter for terrorist activities in India he has knowledge of several sleeper modules operating across the country. "Keeping that in mind he is no less a catch than Jundal," added the official.
According to the Interpol Red Corner Notice issued for Fasih, his name surfaced in the Pune's German Bakery blast case followed by the Chinnaswamy Stadium blast in Bangalore. The notice says that he has been a member of Indian Mujahideen since 2003. He is alleged to have been involved in the 2010 Jama Masjid blast and shootout cases.

THE textile industry fears further delays in the unilateral, temporary and limited tariff concessions announced by the European Union one-and-a-half year ago to help Pakistan recover from losses of the 2010 devastating floods.
The industry’s fears stem more from the lingering debt crisis facing the euro zone rather than the opposition of tariff waivers.
“The EU is not going to implement the promised tariff concessions until it can solve its own problems,” insisted a leading Karachi-based garments manufacturer who requested not to give his name.
“The major textile producing member countries of the EU — Spain, Greece, Portugal and Italy, which had objected to the trade discount package for Pakistan from the day one, are facing the worst crisis of their history. Growth is slowing and jobs being lost. How can they allow us tariff concessions now when they were not ready for this when they were much better off?,” he asked.
“If we want take advantage of the trade incentives offered by the EU we must invest heavily to expand our capacity, diversify our products and improve the quality of our exports,” argued a leading yarn producer from Lahore.
“The textile producers are ready to invest $5 billion in next five years if they ate assured of continuous supply of gas and electricity to run their factories,” he claimed.

MIRANSHAH: A US drone attack on a militant compound in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal district killed six insurgents on Sunday, security officials said.
The unmanned aircraft fired two missiles on the compound in Shawal district, 50 kilometres southwest of Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan tribal district, near the Afghan border, they said.
“Two missiles targeted the compound, killing six militants,” a security official told AFP.

“The institutions should work within their constitutional ambit and let the people decide about the future of the democratically elected government,” he said during a meeting with senior columnists and editors at the Governor’s House.
Raja urged all the stakeholders to respect the constitution and work within the constitutional parameters in order to avoid instability in the country. Ramana, if you mean that the TSP is betraying these terrorists and turning them over to India through the KSA, I doubt even that remote possibility for the reason that Abu Jundal is a PA/ISI man (through the LeT). The PA/ISI will be nailed even more through these arrested guys. This is an operation that has gone awry for the PA/ISI. PA/ISI/LeT are planning for another and more spectacular terror strike and they overstretched. The PA/ISI/LeT also underestimated the meticulousness and perseverance of the Indian intel agencies. These arrests and deportations to India, in spite of strong claims by TSP that they were Pakistanis, add uncertainty to the jihadis and closes down a safe haven hitherto enjoyed by TSP.

Unlike India where decision making is decentralized and cumbersome, the paki jehadi command structure (Govt, civil society, PA and ISI are all combined where India is concerned) is exceptionally quick, agile and nimbly surefooted.
Note the lightening speed with which they reacted on the surjeet and sarabjeet substitution when they realized how the jundal fiasco was going to play out.

It’s not so much what has been written but who has written it: David Sanger, The New York Times Washington correspondent more plugged in than most to the US national-security establishment.
Sanger’s words carry more weight because he has both access and insight, and what he has to say about debates within the Obama administration on Pakistan will not go down well here.
Put on your best Pakistan-lovin’, everyone’s-out-to-get-us, the bomb-will-keep-us-safe, we’re-a-fortress-of-Islam hat and sample these words from Sanger’s ‘Confront and Conceal: Obama’s secret wars and surprising use of American power
“So three years into [Obama’s] presidency, the arguments over how to deal with Pakistan still rage. ‘On this issue, more than any other, you get such disparate accounts from different parts of our government,’ one senior State Department official conceded to [Sanger]”.

But we may already be beyond that; we could be in the realm of the feared Final Betrayal — a Pakistan neutered of the one element that supposedly guarantees its survival: its nuclear programme.
As Sanger claims, one of the first things Kayani did in the aftermath of May 2 was to move around the components of the nuclear arsenal — just in case the Americans tried to take it out.
