More Hindu families cross over to India from Pak

http://www.rediff.com/news/report/more- ... 120816.htm
The fourth batch of Hindu families from Pakistan on Thursday crossed over to India [ Images ] with the members claiming that they were not seeking asylum but any move from the Indian government to help them settle down here is welcome.
The eight members of three families crossed over to India from Pakistan through the land transit route of Attari in the wake of disturbances in Sindh province.
The Pakistani Hindus told reporters they have come on pilgrimage visa and if get any help from the Indian government might settle down here but would prefer to return to Pakistan when the things become normal.Over 250 Hindus belonging to Balochistan and Sindh provinces, where the community has been the target of extortions, kidnapping and forced conversions, have crossed over to India since August 10 amid reports of exodus following the kidnapping of a Hindu girl in Sindh province.

Militants attack Pakistan nuclear air base
Suspected Taliban fighters mounted a daring raid on one of Pakistan’s most heavily protected nuclear air bases this morning, killing one soldier and wounding his commander in a five hour battle.
Six militants wearing air force uniforms and suicide vests were killed in a fierce firefight with security forces after penetrating the high-security Pakistan Aeronautical Complex at Kamra, 45 miles north-west of the capital Islamabad. The assault early this morning has raised new questions over the security of the country’s nuclear weapons arsenal. The attack is the third on the air base since 2007, but is the most audacious and successful to date. The base was struck by a suicide bomber in December 2007 and again in August 2009 when a suicide bomber on a bicycle detonated his explosives, killing eight people, including two soldiers. It is the militants’ most significant attack on Pakistan’s military since May 2011 when they struck a naval base in Karachi, killing ten people and destroying two American surveillance planes. In this morning’s attack, the militants successfully entered the base, fired a number of rocket propelled grenades, damaged a Ukrainian built transport plane and were only stopped from reaching American F-16 fighter airplanes by air force troops led by Air Commodore Muhammed Azam who was among four troops wounded in the battle. He returned to the battle after treatment for his wounds.

As usual, he wants India to give..give and give..
Large, dramatic gestures, like a concession on Siachen, might conceivably help assuage Pakistani fears
He seems to assume that Kiyanahin wants to take on the jehadis, but wants to be re-assured by India through such 'gifts'. That assumption is invalid because Kiyanahin is not separate from terrorists, he is one. The family quarrels with some jihadis is just like inter-mafia quarrels. Or red-on-red quarrels..

^ Might conceivably help assuage Pakistani fears..

So if that does not, the author of the article personally will go all the way to Siachin and get it back from TSP.

No..if that does not help, he will write that 'giving Kashmir and perhaps Hyderabad too might conceivably help assuage their genuine fears'.

From the article
He was speaking as chief guest at the launching of the second Fast Attack Craft (Missile) PNS Dehshat
Dehshat means "terror" in Hindi/Urdu. So the ship is named PNS Terror. That would make her crew terrorists. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Praveen Swami excels in coming up with pedantic wordy rubbish masquerading as some well researched journalism. Look at the contradictions in his writing

India’s economic growth has allowed it to enter a phase of relatively rapid military modernisation, offering it not only overwhelming superiority but also the capacity to target Pakistan’s nuclear and conventional assets with ever-great precision.
Oh really, India is so powerful that all it can do is send dosas in response to TSP's brazen act of war on 26/11? And then if India can do all that, then why this dhothi shivering calling for surrender on Siachen?

Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal already exceeds the size of what is needed to annihilate any large-scale Indian military offensive, as well as most of its cities.

This talk as if Pakistan is a large continental power started after zia and it has continued with strategic analyst talking as if they are a region by themselves

This talk of being able to take on large countries is a mfg behavior over 30 years.

On an invitation from the US State University of News York, Shadab Rasool Abro visited the varsity and performed a successful experiment on the basis of his research. This won him an award and a scholarship worth 250,000 dollars in the US.

Actually, the grammar and syntax is the real fun part. It could go directly into the humor thread. PAk-Turk school....!! However, the plot thickens. Sounds like this guy's taken the Paki media for a good ride. Poor fools :rotfl: See the video interview with him (scroll down 1/2 a page).
http://www.zemtv.com/2012/08/16/pakista ... -research/

Around 0:57, they mention the project that got him the award: something about using chai patthi to purify industrial waster water.....not making this up, serious. It is chai patthi. Next Pakistani hotshot from maticulation might want to try coffee beans or gutka.

AAreeee bhai, look at what his T-shirt reads at 0:58 and you shall get the picture only!

This ramadan its raining miracles all over paki lands

Pakistan varsities make miraculous achievement
* Tremendous increase in research publications as QAU remains at top with 717 publications followed by UoA with 524 publications and AKU with 521 publications
Its most recent publication is a forecasting exercise on how the world will perform in research by 2018 based on their past performance. The top 50 countries are included in the forecast.

The expected output of research in Pakistan is moving up 16 notches, which is the second highest increase worldwide, primarily due to the innovative higher education policies and reforms taking place in Pakistan under the Higher Education Commission (HEC). In addition to quality reforms, there has been a strong resurgence of research and innovation. It is also due to this new flourishing research culture at the higher education institutions that the number of international research publications with impact factor has increased drastically by a factor of eight in the last 10 years! While 816 impact factor papers were published in 2002, it has now increased to over 6,300 in 2011, with the largest number of publications on economic development.

As a result of this phenomenal increase in research publications, the world share of Pakistan’s research has gone up by 300 percent in the last five years. In other words, Pakistan is taking back what it had lost out to the world in earlier years.

mashallah pakistan is again grave yard of imperialist power. When evil oil companies are making record profits all over the world they are making loss in baki lands

Shell Pakistan posts Rs 1.988 billion as after tax loss
Shell Pakistan Limited has posted Rs 1.988 billion as after tax loss in the half year period ended June 30, 2012 as compared to after tax profit of Rs 1.407 billion in the corresponding period in 2011. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Thursday declared that the company's per share loss stood at Rs 23.23 in the period under review against earning per share of Rs 16.44 in the same period last year.
Key contributors to this result are continual high interest costs for financing receivables owed by the government, having to pay corporate tax in a period of a net loss and low fuel margins. One-off accounting charges recorded during this period, volatile oil prices, depreciating foreign exchange rates, and the continued ban on exports of POL products to Afghanistan during this period have all adversely impacted these results as compared to same period last year.

To have an impact factor, a paper simply has to be cited in another paper. Hence, if Paper A on Djinn technology quotes Paper B
on the same topic (and vice-versa, both become `impact factor' papers!

The original article (from which the link is an extract), goes on to say that by 2018, Iran will rise to 4th position in no of papers while
the land of the Pure will just about make it to the top 30  (they probably refer to Islamic countries only)

What's missing is a person of authority to verbalize this on live TV. We need a 'pindi bob' much like the 'Baghdad Bob' during the Iraq war. We need a new herow for the "Bakistan:..." thread.

Ohh by the way this Air chief is the one who was incharge when Americans romped over the paki airspace in the Osama bag and tag operation. And also over the countless drone attacks, the salala checkpost raid and other countless incursions from Afghan side. No wonder he has the most jewellery to showoff - though the americans forgot to present him with the all important bangles set - lack of cross cultural sensitivity onlee.

This video can be put to a lot of use.Someone should subtitle it and spread it.

As is clear the sunni passengers too became part of the mob that executed the shias. And there were no "unidentified miscreants wearing army fatigues" visible in the video as always mentioned by paki press. All this points to the future pogroms of shia which the pakjabi army has in the works. They will then deny any "human right" abuse by TSPA in the western capitals.
The old man in the end was being checked for scars from self flagellation ritual of shias during mohhram.

I think that painting Indian Shias with a broad brush in the Pakistan thread is wrong. We need to talk about Indian Muslims in a separate thread because we to need to get out of equating and comparing Pakistan with India. I thought it was my generation and my elders that reveled in that. It is easy to get into an argument about the vacuous questions you have asked. What lessons must Indian Shias learn from Pakistani Shias being blown up? Google nowadays answers some of the most obscure questions. The question of Shias in Hyderabad is easily answered.

The government says it is very concerned but claims that, following action by the authorities in the 1980s, the gangs operating at the shrine were removed and there are now no children being deliberately deformed in this way.

The government says children are no longer being deliberately deformed
But we found otherwise. At the bus-stand in Gujrat there was one rat-child being used for begging who looked at most seven or eight years-old. The minister responsible, Raja Zafar-ul-Haq promised further government action.

"We will certainly go after these people" he says, "they are criminals and if you can give me any idea as to their whereabouts then we can ask the police to investigate. It's a crime against humanity."

But what is really required is a full-blown investigation into this long-running mystery. Many experts believe the time has come to push religious sensitivities aside and for the government to take decisive action.

The spirit of Ramzan still exists in Pakistan. But it's a bit subdued. Anyhow - with 2 days to go there is still hope that the celebrations will show a big resurgence.
