Asian Aerospace 2004
Re: Asian Aerospace 2004
I think it is significant that India sent a team of pilots and their machines, that too some women thrown in. Looking at pictures in clubsnap.org, one can see that they attracted lots of attention and media coverage. Singapore has a fair share of expats from practically every nationality and lots more come from the region.
It is small things like these that change perceptions. The unfortunate fact that we share borders with a country of fanatic barbarian terrorists often spills over and affects our image, even in the near neighbourhood. These shows and active participation of women etc., will create lasting impressions.
Big thanks to whoever thought of sending these guys and gals over!

Re: Asian Aerospace 2004
Vignesh yea i went to the MBDA stall and tried to nail that gora fellow. In the end he still stuck to the thing that ASRAAM is better. Though he did acknowlege the fact that R-73 can turn corners better but with loss in energy whereas ASRAAM takes a larger route but with a much faster speed. Then he started talking about close combat senarios and he basically tried to put down the IRIS-T rather than the R-73. ANyways i was able to nail him down on the Brahmos issue
All he could say was compared to the exocet Brahmos was in a different league of Anti-ship missiles and there was nothing with MBDA that they could offer against it.
Sorry nitin don't have pics, though Vignesh did take videos hope he has a bit on the LSV. Surely he did get the ALH in action so hopefully he can put it up in a video or something sometime soon. According to the person the only problem with Singapore is that they don't produce in high numbers thus the / unit price for each equipment stays relatively high. The tavors beat the SAR-21 and they are just a bit worried that 100K/LSV might be a problem but 1000 vehicles might bring the price down.
I have just become an avid admirer of the Rafale. Saw the pics of the interior of the cockpit man it was mind boggling. Large MFD's comfortable seating arrangment as well as very wide field of view. AS per the pilot the seat is a bit raised and with bubble canopy like the F-16 it gives a very well all round awareness.
Few other things that interested me were the Primus 2000 by singapore. 39 calibre but extremely light SPH, spacious inside as well as fully computerized fire solution etc.
Hopefully indians should get their hand on the Storm Shadow. Impressive missile marketed by an impressive video that they were showing over and over again.

larger nos of KEPD-50 and Mjoelnir type boxes with smart submunitions is what we need , Brahmos will do whatever Taurus/storm shadow does.

Re: Asian Aerospace 2004
well was going through all the stuff i collected at the airshow and i found a ALH dhruv corporate video by HAL. It is a 154mb file with lots of tit bits about the Dhruv. Even the cockpit has been picturized very well. They show the Dhruv conducting quite a few manouvers and the different variants avaliable. If anyone wants it how do i put it up..and what are the the other technicalities i need to know..!!

HAL bags $5-m deal at Asian aerospace meet
The `trial order', bagged by the HAL, is for the supply of tail rotor blades for Bell-206 helicopter. The HAL Chairman, N.R. Mohanty, said: ``It is a good order, and the value of the order is more than $ 5 millions. It is just the beginning.''

Radhey Shyam: The photo of GSLV-Mk3 is precious. Unfortunately the picture is not complete. Do you have any other view/shot of the GSLV?

Did you see the video cy_baru the cockpit looks so impressive. And one more thing somewhere in the middle of the video it talks about ASW varient of ALH as well.!!
There are some other stuff i need to go through but none of it pretains much to indian equipment. Hopefully i can find something else useful.

Re: Asian Aerospace 2004
Same here, only plays for the first five seconds.
Re: Asian Aerospace 2004
Allright .. gimme a day & i will put up some other format, so something will surely work. In the meanwhile, if you have a fancy phone use that to watch the mp4 video or use quicktime. Its not bad at all.
Abhisham..
Yeah i saw that part and the SAR one as well. they had nice big shiny lights and infrared viewer. They are on the right track with this baby. The end also looks very nice...
Has it worked for anyone ? Just one person acking would be fine.

I could view the smaller version on my desktop... using divx player. the .avi version stops after 4 secs as the others reported.

Use quicktime 6.4 or later to view.
Uploading a larger 16 MB file. This is what the original size (320 * 240) is. Its almost as good as the real thing. Hardly any loss.

Is that Su-30 an MKI ?
Is it carrying Sorbitsya Jammers ?
It is carrying the Kh-31.
BTW, Radhey Shyam, thanks for the brochure scans.

Abhisham and cyrus, Thank You !
The Video was really good, I liked the night-time footage.
As a side note, if anybody out there does not have an MP4-codec/Quicktime you can download it directly (.zip) from this link if you have a Windows OS. Others with a different OS can download the codec from www.3ivx.com.
