New US Ambassador to TSP wants it to target Haqqani
According to reports, the newly appointed US ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson has said that the “primary focus” of US engagement with Pakistan will now be to convince its government to act against the Haqqani network which has sanctuaries in North Waziristan Agency. His appointment was approved by the US Senate only recently. Due to take formal charge from next month, he will assume office amid signs of improvement in Pak-US relations.

Paki geniuses with a tight grasp on deductive reasoning! For a moment I thought it was the water-kit car's hydrogen holding tank igniting. I am glad they clarified that misunderstanding.

Even if Suarco stinks like a pigsty, it still beats its Indian counterpart ISRO in military technology according to Suarco's chairman. Pakistan falters after quick start in space sciences
When asked where Pakistan stands in the defense satellite technology as compared with India and if Pakistan was working on a military satellite, he meticulously answered around it saying that there was nothing that Pakistan needed to worry about in the context - Thank you tallel-than-mountain birathers.
He probably meant KHaTT (or charpoy) where it means (Know How to Attach and Transmit Technology)90 Paki space scientists were currently involved in a KHTT’ (Know How Training and Transfer) programme with China.

http://tribune.com.pk/story/450944/south-waziristan-insurgency-militants-attack-security-post-kill-four-soldiers/
The third report in as many days of TSPA personnel being despatched to jannat by greener ones.Pakhanastan is having trouble controlling talibunnies.Another security official from the area claimed that four attackers were also killed and three injured in retaliatory fire from security forces.
Ehsanullah Ehsan, the spokesperson for the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the attack in Saam village and put the number of dead soldiers at 15.
Ehsan claimed that the check post and an army tank were also destroyed in the attack. He claimed that only one TTP fighter was killed and a few others were injured in retaliatory fire from the security forces.
Ehsan’s claim of military losses could not be verified independently. The militants usually exaggerate military losses in their raids.
The region, once a stronghold of the TTP, was cleared of militants after the military operation, codenamed Reh-e-Nejat, in 2009. But militants carry out sporadic attacks on security forces in Ladha and Sararugha sub-divisions of South Waziristan.

I am not sure why everyone is so harsh on these mullas. After all, their reaction is 100% exactly same the reaction of our liberal leading lights to any terrorist attack or violence by Muslim extremists. After issuing 'naam-ke-vaste' condemnations, sometimes, even ignoring that by pretending editorial discretion or being 'busy' as Mahasweta does, they also talk of 'root causes', alienation, untold grievances, victims of pogroms (equivalent of drone attacks) and many more. Our WKKs too speak with forked tongues and find it very difficult to condemn mob violence by Muslims, be it on the Salman Rushdie, Tasleema Nazreen, danish cartoons or any such matter. They are extremely clear when it involves, say, MF Hussain painting Hindu goddesses nude...
So you can take I-ass article, do a search and replace, and viola, it describes our liberal elites 100%

Thanks, those are useful and timely links.
This link goes with that somewhat:SETTING aside the threat of war, it is instructive and not a little inspiring to consider the courage and skill of the fighters who are challenging the might of the Indian army and air force along the cruel heights of Drass and Kargil in Indian-held Kashmir. Risking a battle in which the chances of death outweigh those of remaining alive requires motivation of a high order. Whatever the Indian side may say, these fighters have a better right than most to call themselves mujahideen, those who fight in the way of Allah.
Whether any or most of these fighters acquired their combat skills in Afghanistan is a matter of detail. What is important is that their spiritual outlook has been shaped by the Afghan experience which they, and a goodly part of the religious and military establishment in Pakistan, considers to have been a true jehad. It was the spirit of jehad which drove the Soviet army from Afghanistan. It is the spirit of jehad which can drive the Indian army from Kashmir. The various schools who subscribe to this thinking consider it an article of faith that the seeds of the break-up of the Soviet Union were sown in Afghanistan. Might not the same happen in Kashmir with similar consequences for India?
... But it is also true that the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan helped awaken a genuine spirit of Islamic revivalism in Afghanistan, across the Arab world and in religious seminaries in Pakistan. The CIA was only the means, jehad the end, not only in Afghanistan but in other Muslim countries defiled by corrupt leaderships.Afghanistan today may lie in ruins and one of the foremost objectives before the CIA may be to contain and destroy the very forces of fundamentalist fervour it had helped put together and ignite in the first place. But these powerful ironies are lost upon the veterans of the Afghan jehad whose memories are sustained by their past triumphs and who fervently believe that if the same spirit was rekindled the experience of Afghanistan could be replicated in Kashmir. If anything, Pakistan's nuclear tests have given a fillip to this thinking. The country's defence having been made impregnable (a favourite expression), the circumstances are right for liberating Kashmir from Indian occupation. In the Jang of June 8 General Hamid Gul puts across this viewpoint with considerable eloquence.

The use of particularly brutal tactics creates far more terror than the fear created by guns and grenades. Residents of J&K point out that the sight of a decapitated body or the thought of having to live with an acid-scarred face or without ears or a nose for life paralyses them with fear.
Several times over the past 15 years, Islamic militants have imposed the burqa (an all-enveloping cloak that covers a woman from head to toe) on women, threatening them with acid and paint if they dared to defy the diktat (order). Women admit that they succumbed to the terror only because of the extreme brutality and gruesomeness of the punishment. In 2000, 16-year-old Mewaiz was shot through the knees for wearing trousers and leaving her head uncovered. There have been several instances of girls becoming targets of acid attacks by militants simply because they had left their heads uncovered or were going to school.
The districts of Rajouri and Poonch witnessed a sharp surge in particularly gruesome attacks in the months of November-December 2002. A jihadi outfit had imposed the wearing of the burqa in Rajouri a few weeks earlier. They slit the throats of girls who defied the diktat.
Both Hindus and Muslims have been beheaded by the jihadis over the past 15 years. In 2001, the beheading of two Hindu priests in Poonch triggered immense rage in the district, prompting the security forces to impose a curfew in the area. More Muslims have, however, been beheaded or subjected to gory forms of torture and killing. Muslims suspected of being informers are seen as the worst "traitors" of the jihadi cause.
There have been cases of children being beheaded on the suspicion that their fathers were informers and of women being injected with poison as punishment for their fathers, brothers and husbands working with the local police. In 2002, three teenage girls were killed in Hasiyot in Rajouri district. Two of them were beheaded, the third shot dead. Militants accused them of being informers but the girls' families believe that the girls were killed because they were going to school. In March this year, five-year-old Zahida and her four-year-old brother were executed by the Lashkar-e-Toiba in Jammu's Doda district because her parents refused to provide sanctuary to militants.
Meanwhile, several cases of beheading came to light in the run-up to the recent general elections. The Hindustan Times reported an incident where militants chopped off the ears of two village elders they had abducted in Jammu's Udhampur district. The victims had been severely beaten before their ears were chopped off. The militants then took the two victims back to the village and showed the chopped ears to the terrified villagers. This was followed by a warning to the villagers not to vote in the general election.

Each generation has its great evil to battle. There have been (in recent times), fascism, stalinism etc. What we are faced with today is islamism. The evil of our generation that we must battle on multiple fronts.

I dont know if it is just me, but there are strong parallels to the TSP obsession with terror and Massa-land obsession with guns in civilian hands..
Please use search-and-replace intelligently as you read this..
I mean whenever there is a outrage caused (by handguns/bad bunnies) there is always noise about 'let us get rid of these evil things / let us root out terror at its core' and selective targeting of right-wing icons who support the status quo (Republicans/Imran Khan or such). But then there is so much mass support for it, particularly at the grass-root level and in small towns, rural areas etc., (for guns in Massa, for terror in Pakbaric animaland) that eventually things get nowhere....then we are back to square one ('it is not guns that kill people, it is people' or 'muslims never kill, it is just some raa/jewish conspiracy'). Then there are those that suggest that controls are good, but then their suggestions are equally meaningless - 'let us ban multi-barrel rocket launchers but not assault rifles' / 'let us ban bad bunnies, but good bunnies need even more guns and dollah..'.
..you get the drift.

Pakistan declared new winner of Nobel Peace Prize.
OSLO/ISLAMABAD: Pakistan was declared the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize for 2012 for its efforts in ridding the world of Indians, Americans and Afghanistanis, refusing to arrest hardcore terrorists despite global pressure and giving shelter to the saintly Osama bin Laden.
There was widespread celebration all over the country after this announcement. "We're having a blast," said some peace-loving citizens armed with rocket launchers. Many others took a break from attacking embassies and planting landmines to join the revelry.
Pakistan has been the key to transforming Asia "from a continent of wars to a continent of peace," committee chairman Thorbjoern Jagland said while announcing the award in Oslo. "We specially laud its work to spread peace in the neighbourhood," he added.
The president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari is said to have welcomed the news. He was later heard asking some reporters if he would be entitled to 10% of the prize money. He the addressed a press conference and said: "We are the world's leading exporter of terrorists and taxi drivers. And now the world has recognized our talents."
In the midst of all these celebrations, a controversy has broken out. Officials of the Pak Taliban and al-Qaida have also demanded a share of the prize, claiming to have played a major role in putting Pakistan on the map of the world.
The leader of al-Qaida was interrupted while he was watching a pirated DVD of Rambo-III to be given the news of the prize. Sources said the elated leader reportedly jumped on a table and danced gangnam style, complete with pelvic thrusts after hearing the news.
Meanwhile, the Americans have praised the choice of award and decided to add to it by giving Pakistan another few billion dollars along with some F-16 jets and Apache attack helicopters. China too plans to continue to aid Pakistan's peace loving ways by providing military hardware.
Some Pakistani intellectuals (read ISI supporters) have demanded that the Nobel Committee also award Ajmal Kasab for having survived so many days in prison and for showing exemplary courage in demanding chicken biryani.
Meanwhile, the Indian government plans to solve the 26/11 Mumbai attacks case by holding more peace talks with Pakistan.

Guys, here in my city, the local India-TSP radio station is "bringing the community together" by hosting a rally in support of Malala. Yesterday, there was a host, I think a TSPian or a pompous WKK moron, who was so full of passion in calling people for that rally, we must defeat terrorism he thundered, we must show the world we support Malala, we are piss loving yada yada. I also noticed this TSP inclusive radio station does a profuse patriotic spiel during 9/11 anniversaries. But never, not once, have I heard them talk about 26/11 or TSP terror in Afghanistan, never. The silence is deafening. So in general, I don't take the clowns seriously except listen to the songs, and I also understand that the poor guys are doing something good for the Indian community, after all, running a radio station requires time and money; except that I wish it was bereft of TSP influence
.
But yesterday, as I was listening to the support Malala rally announcement, as ArchanJi would say about my easy excitability, I was f%%^ing furious and called the radio station and asked if you are so dead against terrorism, why no such outpouring of support for the victims of 26/11, why no sermons on fighting terrorism while the executioners of 26/11 are sitting pretty in TSP including holds posts in the army and ISI? And do you think they were willing to listen to this? No back to cacophony "bringing the community together" and we must fight terrorism by showing support for Malala.
