Thanks for the reply.

Since it is well known that RAW does do lot of internal snooping and has loads of state level stations all over, am assuming that the only authority for wiretaps seems to be the NSA ( going by the reporting structure described in "Escape to Nowhere") or else there is no one required to seek permission from.

In the mean while..
Italian marines return to Kochi
'We have kept our word and have full faith in the Indian judicial system. I'm sure the people of Kerala and the country will look upon this as an act that shows the good relations the two countries have,' Italy's consular general told reporters soon after the marines arrived here at 8.30 a.m. on a chartered flight from Rome
---
The two Italian Marines who had gone home to celebrate X'Mas has landed back at Kochi by a special flight. They would now report to the Commissioner of Police, Kochi city and also surrender their passports at the court.

A carefully manufactured script at play here.

Indians know the story of the cow that returned to the tiger after feeding it's baby. And the tiger leaves the cow in return for its honesty.

A holy cow is being made out of murderers.

What next, the sentence will be executed after the marines return to desh after they cross retirement age?

Any Indian that falls for this crap is a dhimmi traitor to the core.

Pakistani involved in Delhi blast case acquitted
Among the lapses he {Additional Sessions Judge Pawan Kumar Jain} found that the Delhi Police did not prepare a site plan, did not consider taking photographs of the inner portion of the bus, exhibits lifted from the spot were not sealed and no effort was made to prepare the sketch of the suspect.

“The prosecution has failed to bring home the guilt of the accused beyond the shadow of reasonable doubt,” the Judge said.
If these technical issues were cited as reason enough for acquittal in a serious case involving security of this country, the learned judge seems to have erred badly.

The Delhi Police also needs to be taken to task, and a few heads roll, for not following very basic things such as not dealing the exhibits.

The callousness by everyone is appalling.

Fromt he excerpt, then it is not acquittal but lack of evidence due to Deliberate Negigence from Delhi Police which was possibly piolitically influenced.

Wonder who the Pakistani and his EMployers (say some oragnisation like ISI) is joined in the Hip with that can take decesions of weakening the case.

Are these part of Aman ki Asha deals?

Seeing the video, I found Bhatt's body language and tone to be that of a cowardly school boy trying hard to flatter the bullies and demeaning himself in front of them to gain their favour. The same thing Nehru used to do. These are very weak people from inside and their fear and insecurity comes out in the shape of grovelling before anyone they perceive to be strong or brutal.

IIRC, the SC had declared in a previous case ( where another TSP-ian was let off on some other bombing case and was told to be sent back with "proper procedure") that the Pakistani should have same rights as any Desi and he shouldnt be discriminated against just because he isnt Indian!!

Thats true isn't it. The accused should be judged on the merits of the evidence against them and not their nationality. Otherwise its kangaroo court justice.

In above case shame on DP for muffing up the case.

BTW
DP is the operational arm of the IB which is also under the MHA.

So it points to problems at the top.

Hidden away somewhere inside DDM pages is:
http://www.firstpost.com/india/police-firing-over-communal-violence-in-dhule-leaves-three-dead-579415.htmlPolice firing over communal violence in Dhule leaves three dead
Three people were killed when police fired at a mob after clashes broke out between members of two communities at Dhule town in north Maharashtra today, leaving 50 people, mostly policemen, injured.

The violence started at a hotel over a trivial matter and spread to Machibazar and Madhavpura areas of the city, officials said.

Representational image. Reuters
A senior state official told PTI tonight that the police fired after violence erupted between two groups in Madhavpura area of the town. Three people were reportedly killed in the shooting but police said they were verifying the cause of death.

As many as 48 policemen were injured in the violence, the official said.

The condition of two people, including a policeman, is serious, he said.
Imagine if the state had been Gujarat or Ktaka and we would have entire panels discussing communalism and need to dismiss the CM.

Btw, one of the witness was named as Ghaffaruddin in another report who mentioned that police started firing into a "peaceful crowd" for no reason!! So, can imagine who was involved in the rioting and getting 50 policemen injured.

A great article from unexpected quarters.

Ostracize Akbaruddin Owaisi -- Dileep Padgoankar
The two cases slapped on Akbaruddin Owaisi, the Andhra Pradesh MLA from the Majlis-e- Ittehadul Muslimeen(the Council of the Union of Muslims) party for his anti-Hindu rants will meander through the courts for months, if not years, as they so often do. The judicial delay, the accused doubtless reckons, will enable him to achieve three goals: consolidate his vote-bank, position the MIM to cut more lucrative deals after the elections and ensure that the rants fade from public memory. Success might not elude him on two of these goals. But on the third one – which matters in the long run – he faces ignominy.

To keep intact the Owaisi family’s vote-bank in old Hyderabad - and perhaps also to extend the MIM’s appeal to those areas beyond the city with a sizeable Muslim population - nothing would suit him better than to be denounced not only by the sangh parivar but also by secular elements, including moderate Muslims. (In his eyes, secular Hindus are secular only in name while moderate Muslims, who, he believes, have no real influence among Muslims, are damnable as apostates.) He can then project himself as the most valiant and steadfast guardian of the religion, culture, interests and concerns of the Muslim community.

Historical precedents are revealing in this regard. The MIM was established in 1927 as a religious and cultural organization. But, as Narendra Luther states in his brilliant ‘biography’ of Hyderabad, it soon developed on the lines of the Muslim League in pre-Independence India. It reflected Muslim communalism in the state. Three years later, Bahadur Khan, a minor jagirdar who mesmerised crowds with his hate-filled oratory, was honoured with the title of Bahadur Yar Jung by the Nizam. Armed with royal patronage, he embarked on an aggressive campaign to convert so-called Untouchables to change the demographic balance of the princely state. He came a cropper.

Sixteen years later, the leadership of the MIM passed into the hands of another fire-band: Kasim Rizvi, who originally hailed from UP and practiced law in Latur in Osmanabad. His diatribes against Hindus won him kudos from the Nizam and, even more significantly, from M.A. Jinnah. It is Rizvi who formed the razakars ('volunteers'), organized on the lines of Hitler’s ‘brown shirts’, whose terror tactics led to an exodus of Hindus from the princely state. Thanks to the swift police action ordered by Sardar Patel, Rizvi too came a cropper.

This background of the MIM’s record would normally have persuaded the party’s leaders in post-independence India to refrain from exploiting the toxic two-nation theory. Far from it. Had the Owaisi family restricted itself to protesting against the deplorable state of their community – their social and economic backwardness, their failure to get justice, their genuine concerns about the rise of Hindu extremism – one would have sympathised with them. But Akbaruddin Owaisi, in his incendiary speeches, has crossed all limits of civility.

This apparently does not matter to him. He wants to position the MIM in a way that would enable the party to cut a deal with any political formation - bar the BJP – after the elections. Owasi began to deliver his hate speeches shortly after the MIM parted company with the Congress last November over the issue of a make-shift temple adjoining the Charminar. But in its quest for power the MIM can be trusted to do business with that party once again should an opportunity arise in the future.Any anti-BJP party stands to gain from such a blatantly opportunistic alliance. This no doubt explains why the Congress leadership in the state, as well as at its apex, first turned a deaf ear to Owasi’s initial rants and then bided its time to move against him even after the most vicious speech he made in the last week of December. Such conduct is a smear on our secular republic. That is what should matter. Not the self-serving attempts to equate Owaisi’s anti-Hindu rhetoric with the anti-Muslim fulminations of the bigoted sections of the sangh parivar.

But on Owaisi’s third goal – that his anti-Hindu rants will fade from public memory – a word of caution. The parivar bigots have been condemned, especially by secular Hindus. But the worst of these bigots have not done what Owaisi has done: he has denigrated the divinities that Hindus hold with utmost respect. Not once has any Hindu bigot attacked Allah or his Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him.) But this riff-raff of a politician has spoken in the most venomous terms about the divinities that are dear to the Hindu community. This affront will not be forgotten.

Regardless of what the courts have in store for him, public opinion should bring pressure to bear on political parties to ostracize this man who spouts venom not just against Hindus but against citizens of all faiths who owe their primary allegiance to the Constitution. Doom stares the Congress, and other political parties that wear the secular badge on their sleeve, if they refuse to read the writing on the wall. And the writing on the wall is: Owaisi is a threat not only to inter-community harmony but to the security of India. He is, for all practical purposes, a fifth columnist.

Maybe I am missing a cultural nuance, but is Mohammet a Hindu prophet? Not a problem if that vaunted syncretism has extended to this, but has it?

^^^^ Aaah. Maybe its a random event. Becomes interesting if we suppose its not. Suppose its part of a pattern. To incite a riot, perhaps. Who knows?

So if tomorrow the aam hotelier starts getting suspicious about people from certain backgrounds, communities (there I said it!) etc not paying bills and refuse them service, what will happen then? One way out is to advertise very clearly in big and bold that "only jhatka (i.e. non-halal) meat is served here." Already apartment blocks in GJ and Mumbai are barred to non-vegetarians for renting purposes, we're told...

This kind of brain-dead behavior by the miscreants in this case will only strengthen the animosity between communities. Chances are businesses (hotels, rental apartments or offices etc) will increasingly screen out potentially dangerous profiles in that case. And would you blame them? They're business, not govt or charity, after all...

Std disclaimers hold and all that. jai ho.

Non-vegetarian apartments is not novel as a related idea to some independent rent-idea. If I am not mistaken, some societies are bound to have such rules such as Brahmin or Jains ones. For information, I have not got details of such legalities but can say from what I have heard.

Have given up on this long back after not too great impressions left after lots of close interactions and travel through known ghettos and thats why my hope for the future of this country isn't bright since the numbers of IMs are only increasing by leaps and bounds and even the earlier "moderate" ones whom i knew are turning alarmingly Owaisi-like in their interactions and behaviour.

Very very grim times ahead.

I asked this question few years ago.

Imagine I am a good nurtured, law-abiding, educated and moderate/enlightened Muslim (whatever that means)

I came across a fellow Muslim who is a bigot to boot and is a threat to my society, local as well as national.

Should I report him to the authorities? But the authorities are secular to boot and are hand-in-hand with that bigot. More over I have to face the music of insensitive state representatives. On top of everything, my faith tells me that "it is my religious duty to convert the other, believe in Islamization of entire humanity and finality of my faith".

What should I do?

Speeches made by a few Muslim politicians in October 2012, ahead of the municipal elections, are believed to be at the bottom of the riots in Dhule on Sunday that saw four killed and over 200 injured, more than half of them policemen.

We have inputs of a few Muslim politicians inciting a crowd in Dhule and allegedly telling them to attack policemen and officers at the next opportunity. We do not know the reason behind this, but this will be probed,”

“Over 113 policemen were attacked, with 48 seriously injured and admitted. The superintendent has incurred four stitches on his cheek. ASP and deputy SP were attacked by a mob in a narrow alley with stones and all sorts of things,” said Dayal.
