Lesson For Bharat
Muslims Demolish Church Building in Egypt
(AINA) -- Hundreds of Muslims came out of mosques today with hammers and destroyed a social services building belonging to the Coptic Church while chanting Islamic slogans. Security forces arrived after the building was completely razed. The 100 square meters social services building in the village of Fanous, Tamia district in Fayoum province, 130 KM south west of Cairo, had all the necessary government permits; it had a reception hall on the first floor and a kindergarten on the second. But the Muslims insisted that it would become a church.A meeting had taken place beforehand between the village mayor and elders from Muslim and Coptic sides and it was agreed that only the first floor was to remain and the second be demolished.Mosques in surrounding villages called on their microphones this afternoon on Muslims to go and help their Muslim brethrens in the village of Fanous, because Christians were "building a church." According to rights activist Nader Shukry of Maspero Coptic Youth Organizations, nearly 5000 Muslims took part in demolishing the church property with their hammers, while shouting "Allahu Akbar." He said no one was arrested, not even the imams who called on Muslims to demolish the building; their calls fall under the crime of "enticement to violence."
he district of Tamia and neighboring Senousen is home to a large congregation of Islamists. Shoukry said that the Coptic Church had previously warned the security authorities of the danger of the Islamists provoking sedition in Tamia and neighboring areas.A witness from Fanous village said they were working on the building site, which had started two months ago, removing the wood which was intended for the second floor when a Muslim man started insulting the Copts, then they were assaulted by the village women. The mob of Muslim men followed with their attack saying that the whole building has to be demolished. He said that the Muslim elders pretended to be peacemakers, but to no avail. "The Muslims with their hammers and spare pipes were demolishing also the walls of the ground floor, leaving nothing standing," said the witness. The village mayor and Muslim elders made excuses for not honoring their agreement of leaving the ground floor intact by saying the "youth take unreasonable actions."
Security authorities arrived after the social services building was demolished.

’800 million Muslims out of 1.4 billion are illiterate

The combined annual GDP of 57 Muslim countries remains under $2 trillion. America, just by herself, produces goods and services worth $10.4 trillion; China $5.7 trillion, Japan $3.5 trillion and Germany $2.1 trillion. Even India’s GDP is estimated at over $3 trillion (purchasing power parity basis).

Oil rich Saudi Arabia, U.A.E., Kuwait and Qatar collectively produce goods and services (mostly oil) worth $430 billion; Netherlands alone has a higher annual GDP while Buddhist Thailand produces goods and services worth $429 billion.

Muslims are 22 percent of the world population and produce less than five percent of global GDP. Even more worrying is that the Muslim countries’ GDP as a percent of the global GDP is going down over time. The Arabs, it seems, are particularly worse off. According to the United Nations’ Arab Development Report: “Half of Arab women cannot read; One in five Arabs live on less than $2 per day; Only 1 percent of the Arab population has a personal computer, and only half of 1 percent use the Internet; Fifteen percent of the Arab workforce is unemployed, and this number could double by 2010; The average growth rate of the per capita income during the preceding 20 years in the Arab world was only one-half of 1 percent per annum, worse than anywhere but sub-Saharan Africa.”

The planet’s poorest countries include Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Somalia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Mozambique. At least six of the poorest of the poor are countries with a Muslim majority.

Conclusion: Muslims of the world are among the poorest of the poor.

Fifty-seven Muslim majority countries have an average of ten universities each for a total of less than 600 universities for 1.4 billion people; India has 8,407 universities, the U.S. has 5,758. From within 1.4 billion Muslims Abdus Salam and Ahmed Zewail are the only two Muslim men who won a Nobel Prize in physics and chemistry (Salam pursued his scientific work in Italy and the UK, Zewail at California Institute of Technology). Dr Salam in his home country is not even considered a Muslim.

Over the past 105 years, 1.4 billion Muslims have produced eight Nobel Laureates while a mere 14 million Jews have produced 167 Nobel Laureates. Of the 1.4 billion Muslims less than 300,000 qualify as ‘scientists’, and that converts to a ratio of 230 scientists per one million Muslims. The United States of America has 1.1 million scientists (4,099 per million); Japan has 700,000 (5,095 per million).

Fact: Of the 1.4 billion Muslims 800 million are illiterate (6 out of 10 Muslims cannot read). In Christendom, adult literacy rate stands at 78 percent.

For Malappuram’s Muslims, a dance contest is still taboo
The 53rd edition of the Kerala School Youth Festival, described as the biggest event of its kind in Asia, was held in this Muslim-majority district but had few Muslim girls participating in its dance events.

Over the decades, Malappuram in Kerala has seen Muslims making much progress educationally, socially and economically but certain things remain forbidden in the community, such as a girl applying paint for a dance item. The handful of Muslim girls who defied the community diktat to dance at the five-day festival, which concluded at the district headquarters this weekend, were mainly students of schools run by non-Muslim managements.

A month earlier, Malappuram had hosted a district-level school youth festival where the results of contests reflected Muslim girls’ reluctance to participate in dance items. Of the 18 high school girls each who obtained an “A” grade in bharatanatyam and mohiniyattam, not one was a Muslim. In contrast, the 12 A-graders in English speech included five Muslims, while the 17 A- and B-graders in ghazal (high school level) included nine Muslims.
Muslim girls enthusiastically joined contests other than dance, such as literary contests in Urdu and Arabic, and traditional Muslim art-forms that are backed by the community. Thousands of people, including Muslim women with their heads covered in hijabs, turned out at the 17 venues and stayed late into the night to enjoy the performances, showcased with glamour.
Of course, no howls all over DDM lamenting "green-isation" of the community and poor girls being forced out of what they love by hardliners of community etc.
Malappuram quazi O P M Syed Muthukoya Thangal stresses that Islam is against girls making a public appearance on stage once they have reached puberty. “Such appearances would lead to anarchy,” he says. “However, they take part in oppana dance, which is traditionally associated with Muslim weddings. That is the approach of all Muslim organisations.”
He dismisses the participation of a few Muslim girls in the dance contests at the festival. They are deviants, he says; “such elements” would be found in any religion and society. “Islam does not recognise their choice. They don’t understand the value of religion,” he says.
A teacher at a Muslim-run school says even managements are against Muslim girls taking part in dance events, though they encourage students from other communities. “Community leaders can’t stand Muslim girls sporting a bindi in a dance item,” says the teacher. “They shut the door on dance forms whose stories are based on Hindu mythology and related to temples. All Muslim organisations are against girls appearing without a hijab, even for a stage performance.”
Aryadan Shoukath, a Congress leader and scriptwriter whose films have won awards, says some Muslim organisations that claim to be progressive are turning more and more orthodox. Their “progressive attitude” towards English education is not reflected in their attitude to art, he says. He feels close links between Muslims of Malabar and Saudi Arabia have helped fostered conservative thoughts as part of an effort to create a global identity for Muslims.
Sit back and enjoy when the $%^& will hit the fan in Kerala( esp N.Kerala) in a few years time.

“Non-Muslim” is a broad term that covers all those who are disbelievers in the faith and principles of Islam. These People are classified into four categories as follows:

a) Warriors

b) Peace seekers

c) Peace truce holders

d) Non-Muslims living or residing in an Islamic governed country.

In the following passages we shall attempts to give a brief account of each one of the above category.

A) Warriors: This group is at constant war against Islam, in particular , and against all Muslims, regardless of creed , color, geographical location , social status or other criteria .

B) Peace Seekers: This group is entitled for Muslim Protection in accordance with the time and place specified and agreed upon by both parties for instance , peace seekers ( Non-Muslim) and peace grantors (governing Muslims) This is the based upon the statement from the glorious Quran:

“ If one amongst the pagans ask thee asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the world of God; and then escort him to where he can be secure. That is because they are men without knowledge.” 9:6

C) Peace Truce holders: Muslims must fulfill peace treaties made with this group of people in accordance with the terms and conditions of the treaties as long as these people did not breach their contract and did something contrary to the terms and conditions agreed upon both parties, did not assist a third party against Muslims , did not criticize the religion of Islam openly , or did any thing that make them loose their entitlement for the peace treaty with Muslims. This is , of course , is based on the statement of Allah , the Almighty , in the glorious Quarn:

“ ( But the treaties are) not dissolved with those pagans with whom ye have entered into alliance and who not subsequently failed in aught ,, nor aided any one against you. So fulfilled your engagements with them to the end of their term: for God loveth the righteous.” 9:4

Also the statement of Allah, the Almighty, in the glorious Quran:

“ But if they oaths after covenant, and taunt you for your faith , fight ye the chiefs of Unfaith: For their oaths are nothing to them: That thus they may be restrained.” 9:21

D) Non-Muslims living , or residing in an Islamic governed country: This group has and enjoys the utmost rights upon Muslims. They are also required to practice certain things which dictated by Muslims righted unto them as well. In the first place , this group physically resides in as Islamic governed country and enjoy the protection , services all other things that Muslims themselves enjoy from Islamic government such as schooling, health care, road system , housing and all other major or minor services that Islamic government avails for its people. In fact this group enjoys all of the above due to the fact that they pay a special protection and services tax called “ JIZEH” or “ head tax” which is a tax imposed on Non-Muslim residing in Islamic country for this very purpose. This group , however , do not participate in fight or military operation operations if the protecting Islamic country has been threatened and a war is waged against its territories.

Muslims governors must be fair and just to his group, in particular, and pass all judgments and sentences upon them on the basis of the true, accurate and precise Islamic jurisdictions in finance , economics , political or educational undertakings, and all other matters. A Muslim governor must establish capital or corporal punishment upon this group of people in accordance with the principles of their religious or divine laws. They should also enjoy every protection that is naturally extended to the Muslim citizens residing in the same country.

Theoretically, and as it was practiced in the early Islamic generations, such group must be distinguished from Muslim by specific code of dress maintained in public. They must not openly , or in a public places , do any thing that is considered insulting , insensible, insensitive or contrary to the Muslims faith and taste. For instance , they should not wear crosses, set up crosses in their public areas , hanging pictures or statues that are against Islamic faith and principles.

^ Lots of those as well ofcourse, but definitely Pakistani flags. In one town (don't remember the name) approximately 95% of the flags displayed were Pakistani. There was a procession and the main vehicle in the procession was carrying a big Pakistani flag. Ofcourse no tiranga to be seen anywhere.

I had a similar experience when on a trip to Guruvayoor last year. The road trip from Guruvayoor to Palakkad was dotted with spanking new mosques and churches. One every Kilometer - you could almost set your watch by when you will see the next one. It was like the movie Aliens versus Predators' tagline. It doesnt matter who wins - Hindus will lose.

I've visited Kerala several times over the years, but the changes recently have been drastic and disquieting. Kerala has a nice little molotov cocktail brewing - equal parts of jihadist islam, missionary christianity and the good old lazy-ass communism.

God help his own country!

RajeshA, sorry for OT.

^^^ Prem sahib, I take a trip once in a while to Munnar. The last one was startling in terms of religious polarization. The private bus driver from Kothamangalam to Mummar was an xtian, the moment the radio played remotely Hindu he would change channels and draw a "kurrisu" on his chest.

I was literally  . The funny thing is, it made me so angry so as to declare myself as a firm Hindu (which I am not) if asked. This is not good. But a lot of Hindus are good at taking it and keeping quiet, so I dont think Molatov is a possibility. Marginalization yes, Molatov no.

Bad time to be a Hindu in KL.

This is exactly the problem. Bit by bit taking away normal lifestyle so people are used to it. Worse part is people tend to completely forget normal lifestyle and how to go about living, upholding it, ala Kashmiri Pandit community who tend to find themselves hopeless more than it may look to others.

From UK-stan
'Muslim patrol' investigation leads to double arrest
Homophobic attack filmed and uploaded to YouTube among a series of incidents by east London vigilante group

Two men have been arrested after a series of incidents in London saw members of the public harassed by self-styled vigilantes who posted footage of their activities online. One included a clip showing a man being subjected to homophobic abuse.

The incidents are believed to be linked to a group claiming to be behind "Muslim patrols" of Whitechapel. In the latest video in which a group of men described themselves as "vigilantes implementing Islam upon your own necks", a man is followed and told: "Get out of here you fag … Don't stay around here any more."

His pursuers tell him that he is "walking through a Muslim area dressed like a fag".

The East London Mosque has condemned the actions. It said in a statement last week that individuals claiming to be 'Muslim patrols' have been harassing members of the public on the streets of east London late at night, including outside the mosque after it has closed, and that it had contacted the police to alert them to the presence of the individuals and video.

"These actions are utterly unacceptable and clearly designed to stoke tensions and sow discord," it said.

Arun ji, that quote from the HK clearly says "it was ordained for the Jews that 'if you kill one person unjustly..it is the same as killing all of humanity'". By putting it casually across many readers may think that this is ordained for Muslims and the Talib types are wrong..

Baroness Warsi accuses critics of Islam of being 'un-British'
She points to polling which shows just 24% think Islam is compatible with being British and 23% say it is not a threat to Western civilisation

An unrepentant Lady Warsi, whose parents emigrated from Pakistan, said that she was right to speak out before and will use the new evidence to warn that the 'underlying, unfounded mistrust' of Muslims is fuelling extremism.

In her speech to a group called Measuring Anti-Muslim Attacks, which monitors violence against Muslims, Lady Warsi condemned politicians and the media for failing to do enough to combat negative views of Muslims.

'Nisha Joshi' reports from the UQ, which just experienced heavy snowfall -
Meet The Muslim Snow Patrol Cleaning Up The City
The Islamic Diversity Centre (IDC) in Newcastle has called into action its self-titled ‘Muslim Snow Patrol’ to help clear residential roads and drives in Newcastle's West End.

After Newcastle City Council was contacted about the plans, it provided the team with gloves, shovels and grit as well as directing the team to areas most in need.

IDC director Abu Tayeb said: “[Residents] have been really appreciative of the work that we’re doing.

“They’ve been a bit surprised at why loads of bearded men have come and tried to help them clear their drives.

“As Muslims we believe that it is our Islamic duty to look after our neighbours, especially in these very difficult conditions.

“We’re trying to remove some of those preconceptions people have about Islam and Muslims by showing that Muslims actually do good things and are trying to help our neighbours.”

Labour councillor for Wingrove, Nigel Todd added: “The residential streets are more of a problem for [the council] because we just don’t have the money to grit and clear them.

“This group is a tremendous example of what can be done and what can be achieved by everyone doing their bit.

Skiing sparks religious showdown
Beirut - It's ski season in Lebanon and everyone's hitting the slopes.

But when the country's most controversial Sunni Muslim cleric took a convoy of supporters out for the day and was blocked by angry Christian protesters, many feared the trip could be the spark that would reignite Lebanon's sectarian flames.

The long-bearded and bespectacled cleric Ahmed al-Assir, known for his inflammatory speeches and clashes with Shi'ite militants, took 10 buses on Thursday from his Sunni stronghold in the Mediterranean city of Sidon to Faraya, one of Lebanon's ski resorts.

Residents of Kafar Zebian, a majority Christian area on the way to the resort, piled rocks and snow on the road in protest at what they saw as a provocation by Assir and his hardline supporters. A punch-up ensued and the Lebanese army intervened to break it up. ...

After centuries of stagnation science is making a comeback in the Islamic world

UK-Nomist
The caricature of Islam’s endemic backwardness is easily dispelled. Between the eighth and the 13th centuries, while Europe stumbled through the dark ages, science thrived in Muslim lands. The Abbasid caliphs showered money on learning. The 11th century “Canon of Medicine” by Avicenna (pictured, with modern equipment he would have relished) was a standard medical text in Europe for hundreds of years. In the ninth century Muhammad al-Khwarizmi laid down the principles of algebra, a word derived from the name of his book, “Kitab al-Jabr”. Al-Hasan Ibn al-Haytham transformed the study of light and optics. Abu Raihan al-Biruni, a Persian, calculated the earth’s circumference to within 1%. And Muslim scholars did much to preserve the intellectual heritage of ancient Greece; centuries later it helped spark Europe’s scientific revolution.
Everything came from India onlee.
Not only were science and Islam compatible, but religion could even spur scientific innovation. Accurately calculating the beginning of Ramadan (determined by the sighting of the new moon) motivated astronomers. The Hadith (the sayings of Muhammad) exhort believers to seek knowledge, “even as far as China”.
Science of the kind practised at SESAME throws up few challenges to Muslim doctrine (and in many cases is so abstruse that religious censors would struggle to understand it). But biology—especially with an evolutionary angle—is different. Many Muslims are troubled by the notion that humans share a common ancestor with apes. Research published in 2008 by Salman Hameed of Hampshire College in Massachusetts, a Pakistani astronomer who now studies Muslim attitudes to science, found that fewer than 20% in Indonesia, Malaysia or Pakistan believed in Darwin’s theories. In Egypt it was just 8%.

Yasir Qadhi, an American chemical engineer turned cleric (who has studied in both the United States and Saudi Arabia), wrestled with this issue at a London conference on Islam and evolution this month. He had no objection to applying evolutionary theory to other lifeforms. But he insisted that Adam and Eve did not have parents and did not evolve from other species. Any alternative argument is “scripturally indefensible,” he said. Some, especially in the diaspora, conflate human evolution with atheism: rejecting it becomes a defining part of being a Muslim. (Some Christians take a similar approach to the Bible.)

Though such disbelief may be couched in religious terms, culture and politics play a bigger role, says Mr Hameed. Poor school education in many countries leaves minds open to misapprehension. A growing Islamic creationist movement is at work too. A controversial Turkish preacher who goes by the name of Harun Yahya is in the forefront. His website spews pamphlets and books decrying Darwin. Unlike his American counterparts, however, he concedes that the universe is billions of years old (not 6,000 years).
More than Half of Birtuds and their Baaps also do not Believe in Theory of Evolution.

Hispanic American immigrants increasingly finding home is Islam
A growing community of Hispanic American immigrants, as well as Hispanics in their home country, are choosing to convert from their predominantly Christian religions to Islam. It's especially common for women. ...

“Many immigrants are here by themselves,” said Morales, noting that Latina immigrant women are drawn to Islam because of the sense of “belonging” they find within the Muslim community. ...

According to WhyIslam’s 2012 annual report, 19 percent of the some 3,000 converts it assisted in 2011 were Latinos, and more than half of those (55 percent) were women. The 2011 U.S. Mosque Survey, which interviewed leaders at 524 mosques across the country, found the number of new female converts had increased 8 percent since 2000, and that Latinos accounted for 12 percent of all new converts in the United States in 2011.

Experts attribute the phenomenon to recent migration trends.

Muslim and Latino immigrants are increasingly living side by side in urban neighborhoods across the country, from California, Texas and Florida to New York and Illinois, states that according to data from the Migration Policy Institute constitute 72.5 percent of the total foreign-born population from Latin America in the United States. At the same time, these five states are also home to the highest number of mosques, The American Mosque 2011 Report shows, reflecting a growing Muslim presence as well....

In Chicago there were billboards on buses explaining Islam.
Basically for Hispanics, getting into Islam is an avenue to go bonkers and becoming a terrorist. It is always the marginalized (losers) among a community that get targeted by these preachers for conversion so they can be part of a "brotherhood". These types have anger in their hearts and can be channeled towards the Jihad.

Not at all. I've seen very well-educated Hispanics, some from traditionally wealthy families, convert. I've seen Hispanic girls in grad school convert and marry Turkish and Arab Moslems. They're not "losers" at all, though I can't tell whether "they have anger in their hearts".

The brand of Christianity practiced by the Hispanics in America leads them to convert. There is double life and false image among the wealthy Hispanic Christians. The women have been put into a object based images.

For a Friday that is the Mohammadden Sabbath and not just any run of the mill Friday but a Friday that happens to be the birthday of founder of Mohammaddenism, that is quite a death toll. The religious sanctity of the day certainly did not seem to have evinced enough “brotherly” “ummah” feelings to set aside Green on Green Intra-Mohammadden violence.

The people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan have most certainly done their bit to disapprove the claims of the adherents of Mohammaddenism from elsewhere that theirs is “The Religion of Peace”.

Muslim abuser who 'didn't know' that sex with a girl of 13 was illegal is spared jail
A muslim who raped a 13-year-old girl he groomed on Facebook has been spared a prison sentence after a judge heard he went to an Islamic faith school where he was taught that women are worthless.
...

Said he had been taught 'women are no more worthy than a lollipop that has been dropped on the ground'
