Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Congress train is starting to fall apart and decelerating slowly. State gov have usurped most of the power around Delhi. All they can do now is play communal-secular card and ruin the economy with their welfare agenda.

Ravi ji, you are reading too much into the term (at least as far as last post goes). All I meant was should he align with persons / parties who may turn out to be a liability later on as he tries to implement his agenda.ravi_g wrote:Your good intentions notwithstanding, concept of 'Moditva' looks like a 'hit me' tag pasted onto a person who have not yet claimed it himself.
Not that I have a clear-cut answer to that myself - possibly winning should be the key criteria for this round.
Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
kongis are back into communal politics.
They have been doing it for ages, but only yindoo wadis get bracketed with communalism.
throughout their history, kongis have used rank fanatics to further their cause.
This time also Sushil Kumar Shinde starting from using "shri" to terrorists, to beating and using lathis on aam aadmi has used the communal bogey to create a surcharged atmosphere in preparation for oncoming elections.
Muslims as usual will fall for the bait. one of the reasons being yindoowadi parties have been made as anti muslim by congis despite eveidence to the contrary. The other reasons are mullahs in each locality are hand in glove with muslim politicians to herd the faithfools to vote for congis or other non BJP ones.
congis plan is to rally these faithfools as sure voters.
SP and Mayawati are for congis so also assorted other casteists parties who have been cornered into voting for congis in center due to distortion of yindoo history. Not to forget communists on this mix and their role.
Many yindoos are fiercely independent and vote according to their conscience which is good in the long run but not when their nation is being torn by these very paragons of communal divide.
BJP will always be on the backfoot with this new bogey of majority terrorism.
IOW win win for congis unless there are monumental mitakes done by congis themselves.
It is their to lose.
Least congis can do is under 100 seats. sure to cross around 150 +.
NaMo and his team have lot to do . no easy task.

I think this is the most likely result. But politicos will not keep quite. The loot from power is too much in AP and the leaders fight like dogs over each and every thing. YSR started it (now his son seems to be the reason for any serious considaration on division) and till now the fire could not be doused. All said and done political considaration would have influenced INC and Sri Krishna report may have influenced the Home Ministry thinking more than anything else. All said and done any political party including INC will give lot of wightage to the Home Ministry as it also provide political inputs on this things.
But no one knows the decision. Hope it will come soon.

For Rahul's sake, will Cong warm up to Naidu?

Given half a chance, the Congress would have also done business with Jagan. But Jagan had been unyielding to start with. Now in jail for so long, the Congress does not know how to rope him in and yet not lose face in the public. "A deal can be ruled out at this stage. After all how do you project a guy whom you have locked in jail on serious charges of wrong doing?" asked an analyst. Congress analysts, however, perceive that the Jagan fever is subsiding in Andhra/Rayalaseema and by 2014 his party may not be able to sweep the polls in the region. The erosion of support for Jagan could lead to an improvement of fortunes for both the TDP and the Congress. Yet there is a possibility that the two parties would cut into each other's votes. In this context, some analysts have mooted a proposal for getting the TDP and Congress together.
TDP sources said that Chandrababu Naidu is chary of tying up with the BJP-led NDA coalition for the 2014 election. "He feels this will wean away the minorities from him, which he can ill afford," said TDP sources. But with the Congress as his main opposition in the state, Naidu has always been forced to be on the other side. But now with Jagan emerging as the new political force, the Congress and TDP can do business tacitly to stymie the YSR Congress' rise. Such an alliance can never be open and there can be no formal pre-poll alliance. But post poll 2014, Naidu can well support the Congress at the Centre if the Grand Old Party allows him to corner the glory in his home state. Will this happen? That's the million dollar question.

Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Sushupati-> Jagan is the PRP of 2014. He will support INC in any no confidence vote like Sp- BSP. Their public fighting is to make chu***** of the Indian Public who have repeatedly fallen for such tricks.
Kinshuk Nag wants all the votes of 10 year misrule to go Jagan by claiming tactical understanding.
I don't AP is like UP, If CBN supports INC at the Center, his support base will be killed off. He will support NDA like 1999 from the outside. He will not align with NDA until BJP wins 175+ seats. the last thing INC needs is TDP to sweep and 35+ seats in Lok sabha.
Unlike others, the climate is not proper for NM. the country needs some major F****** before people realise how bad the INC and 3rd front are.
The INC does not understand, but the forces they are cultivating tend to go after the weak and will ending up wounding them fatally.\
BJP should try and let is happen.

Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
EJ will ensure Jagan is in INC side at Delhi. But Jagan being criminal more than politico, we do not know for certain. The minute Naidu support INC at Delhi, he is dead in AP - all regions. He is not that foolish or desparate. This media hot air from backside. Further INC want AP for itself and not a NCP like arrangement with TDP. Remember AP is the only big state INC rule alone as of now and until TDP came AP was always with INC even in Janata wave INC won 41 out of 42 AP seats.

The signal goes out loud and clear to every party out there even thinking of making a deal with NM or NDA that we'll get you far before that. And since almost all netas are corrupt (the system ensures that you can't both be clean and alive in politics), the message will sink in everywhere.
Sure, a Maya and a Mulayam may chafe at the collar over what INC regularly does to them but so what, fear is more potent (and predictable) than love, in politics at least.
Edited:
Why couldn't INC system put NM behind bars yet? They could always cook up some witnesses, plant fake evidence of corruption or criminality, muddy waters enough to produce circumstantial evidence at least...why didn't they go for the jugular in NM's case? I have no doubt they must've tried.
I also have no doubt that at Diggy's signal, Sanjiv Butt will swear by everything he holds holey, in the middle of the supreme court, that he personally saw NM tear foetesus out of mainority women inside the police control room only.... media din will provide supporting choreography and live fusion music, assorted NGOs & sthink tanks will puke bile, etc etc. I can see it all happen clear as day... why hasn't Diggy done it yet?
Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Because they want to Modi to become BJP face in next elections so that they will get muslim votes in full. As per the first cross the line system of westminister there are almost 100 seats which has muslims as decisive factor and INC wants them to with it enmass. Only thing against NM is Dellhi4.
But one can never be sure. Already one Lokadyktha drama started in Gujrath and soon there will be allegations on NM raised by INC people.

I think he will become INC Presi once mother passes the baton, and continue to be the unquestioned Caliph of the faithful, but the fall-guy job of being the PM will go to some other unfortunate gent after MMS lays down his armour...probably AKA.
sister will likely take over mother's background enforcer/schemer role and the dynasty will continue...she has two kids of whom atleast one should be upto the prince's level ... a low bar to beat

Congress targeting RSS and by extension BJP. They will not push too hard but they will try to put enough pressure to jeep BJP on back-foot. Congress and Pakistan Army operate the same way. They will use state machinery to ensure they stay in power and loot no matter the cost. PA has ISI and Congress has IB and CBI. If Congress lets their guard down and momentum builds up from society and opposition and a true nationalist comes to power they will be thrown into Tihar for life.

The AP situation is very interesting. If we can understand this, we will get very good clues for national scene.
The current Congi govt is tightening screws on MIM. IMHO it has multiple dimensions -
1. A Local response to MIM's decision to leave the Cong alliance
2. Lock MIM in before announcing T-state. This is one key united-Andhra supporter.
3. Lock MIM in before making Hyd as a UT and ensure that Congress gains complete hold
4. Pretend to tighten MIM to slowdown the Hindu consolidation (that is happening all over Andhra) using == strategies
5. Pretend to tighten MIM to bring the m-vote bank together.
6. Pretend to tighten MIM so they are pushed into welcoming hands of YSRCP (needs the alliance in key areas in Kadapa etc.,)

The BJP did pretty well in state elections under Rajnath Singh but he led them into a disastrous 2009 LS campaign. Is he really a man to bring about a change in fortunes for the BJP?
Have a feeling now than Swaraj will be PM candidate for the BJP

Correct. Akbar's issue is one thing. Asaduddhin's old case was brought out of dusty papers to remand him for a few weeks. There is some strangeness to the Asad's arrest.RamaY wrote:The AP situation is very interesting. If we can understand this, we will get very good clues for national scene.

It is strange why BJP does not fight fire with fire. Like making a huge issue of abusing opposition with terrorism remarks, and taking people and their supporters ie those who support such statements - all of them to court on such wild remarks.
Better have the campaign led by PM of Gujarat/MP etc who can give as much as they get to make UPA think 10 times before being abusive.

Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Rajnath may not be bad choice. INC and regime supporters will go hammer and tongs at the opposition as unlike 2009 they are on a sticky wicket. Gadkari choice would have directed the focus on purti instead of INC. Rajnath has good relations with D4 but is not D4. He has good relations with Modi. His failure in 2009 has more to do with Advani as PM candidate than his own. On the negative side he presided over the debacle in UP. But given the other choices and the fact that you don't want to experiment with a new face so close to elections he may not be bad choice. Cadre is going to be enthused only if Modi is the candidate not D4. Also remains to be seen whether he believes in this "collective leadership" bs that Gadkari was going along with. The focus should move to PM candidate rather than President. INC would have very much liked to use Gadkari and purti as punching bags. Gadkari made the same mistake as Yeddy. You have to very careful when you take on the INC-controlled regime.
Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Gadkari was doing fine. Discount the media report (planted and baseless - that he wanted PM post, or anti this or that...). He was a non-entity, understood that was a non entity and knew his role was to clean the road and fasclitate emergence of geniune leaders (whoever they may be), not promote his likes or baises (as he had none, or did not have enough weight to matter, except in MH, he crossed Munde). He was doing that with flare now, and as a catalyst would have been devastating for Con in 2014. After Yuvraj made yuvraj (yet) again, things are moving fast - Chautala jailed, Haryana cleared, it's real estate boon ready to bankroll whole of Con System. Owaisi jailed, RSS will be targeted with gusto (and sold as a balancing act), RS moved (I have very uncharitable things to say that I may know personally, but then why score self goal) as BJP president, if he can make sure 20-30 seats BJP loose, UPA - 3 is a reality (discounting EVM).

That is a good point. I think RSS/BJP will not let INC or DDM dictate who their party president should be. Everything will be fine for NG in a day or two.

Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
I disagree. Rajnath may have capability issues but given the condition may not be bad choice. I have seen the TimesNow report on Gadkari and Purti. He would have been a good punching bag for months thus shifting focus. In one interview Digvijay was salivating about what they will do if Gadkari becomes President. As the regime is on a weak wicket expect them to come on all guns blazing. Those who are oldies will remember that the same thing happened when it seemed that Vajpayee is going to come to power. You can see that they have started the same type of campaign e.g. the Outlook article on Vivekananda and then on the RSS women's wing.

Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Yes, being old helps sometimes. I think BJP was hoping that NG has weathered the storm of Congress's attack dogs like Kejriwal, the IT move just as he was getting ready for second term was clear indication that INC was hoping to bog BJP down on that front.Supratik wrote:Those who are oldies will remember that the same thing happened when it seemed that Vajpayee is going to come to power..
NG has not gone away anywhere, he can still contribute along with RS, if the sources are to be believed, Rajnath Singh was chosen on NGs backing after it became clear that this was a battle best left alone.
Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Sanku, I agree. I think given the crimes of our netas, Gadkari is a baccha. Most of our businessmen routinely do what he is alleged to have done. But why sacrifice the war in order to win a battle. Also there was strong opposition within e.g. Yashwant Sinha, Mahesh Jethmalani, etc. I think NG is very capable and will come back stronger.
