By the way, MMS's Rajya Sabha term is ending in summer. There is a speculation that he will be denied another term so that Rahul is made PM for a year before the election. I wonder if this is a counter move by PM camp.

The Delhi High Court on Monday directed the Income Tax department to defreeze the 11 bank accounts of Patanjali Yogpeeth Nyas, a trust run by Baba Ramdev.

The IT Department had sealed the trust, after it failed to pay the first instalment of Rs. 75 lakh out of the total tax of Rs. 34.68 crore.
A division bench of Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed and Justice RV Easwar said in the order: “We direct the attachment order (of bank accounts) be lifted subject to petitioner (Patanjali Yogpeeth Nyas) paying Rs. 2.10 crore (as Income Tax) by March 15.”

The bench, refusing to stay the recovery proceedings, asked the Income Tax Commissioner (Appeals) to decide the appeal of Patanjali Yogpeeth by 31 March and disposed the plea.

Arresting Ramdev is a bit problem because he has "Hindu religious man" background which INC mafia may like to aviod. Jagan has a currpt and criminal background about which there is all around knowledge in AP. So not like Jagan but may be serious problems from IT, ED etc so that to nudge him to form a party. One more thing his anti congress stands are well known. So they also deny him the free space to do some election period political activity againt INC.

As expected, a blame game has begun within the United Progressive Alliance regime respecting Afzal Guru’s hanging.

Apologists for the Manmohan Singh/ Sonia Gandhi establishment have made out Mukherjee as a particularly bloodthirsty head of state, which has compelled Rashtrapati Bhawan to do its own selective leaking to “friendly” journalists. One newspaper has it that Pranab Mukherjee sent back Guru’s case to the Union home ministry for reconsideration, but to no avail.

If Mukherjee was so opposed, he could have resigned. If Manmohan Singh wished Guru to remain alive, Sonia Gandhi wouldn’t have objected for long. And if Sonia Gandhi considered Guru a national treasure, no power on earth could have circumscribed his life. This is the cold truth. Shinde was merely an instrument, not a particularly intelligent one, and even something of a boor, but nevertheless a servitor carrying out orders.

When a regime survives on vote-banks, is venal to the core, corrupt, and thoroughly ill-intentioned and malevolent, nothing will go right for it. It is the law of nature. The ill-fated UPA ship is in the vortex of a storm. The rats in the ship are looking to desert. The Afzal Guru card was the last the UPA could play, and it has played it badly. That Afzal Guru would even become a card speaks volumes about the Congress-led UPA regime. It held on to the card as a vote-bank card, and it reflected its own soft attitude towards terrorism. It gambled on playing the card to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party and its rising star, Narendra Modi, and return to power in hastily-ordered polls. The gamble has gone terribly wrong.

Afzal Guru should have been properly and in normal course delivered to justice long ago. By delaying his hanging for vote-bank considerations, the UPA regime played havoc with his life, and put his family through avoidable trauma. Then, out of the blue, driven by electoral desperation, the order went out to hang him, and everyone succumbed to this horrible pressure, from Pranab Mukherjee to Manmohan Singh. Since politics is controlled by Sonia Gandhi, who is determined to make her son the next prime minister, all the stops were pulled. If this reads like postmodern Macbeth, don’t be surprised.

The root of the problem lies in Pakistan, at whose behest Guru became party to the 13 December 2001 Parliament attack. Anti-India terrorism must be erased from Pakistan, or it must be dismantled as a state. These have to be the medium- and long-term objectives of the Indian state. Instead, Manmohan Singh appeases Pakistan, and the Congress regime green-lights an execution to return to power.
In death as in life, Afzal Guru became a pawn.

GUNTUR: Despite his ' pro-Telangana' stance, TDP president N ChandrababuNaidu has got good response for his padayatra in the coastal region.[...]

Except the hungama created by Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal and his aides on Day One, Naidu's yatra has been successful in the last 20 days. In fact, locals were seen thronging Naidu's meetings at many villages. "It is a significant change witnessed from his previous tours," agreed a senior Congress leader. People paid attention to his lengthy speeches and even endorsed his remarks on corruption in public life. The TDP chief received unexpected support from the youth particularly when he took on YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

Although, party leaders did mobilise crowds from other parts of the districts, the locals too turned up in good numbers, which was not the case during his previous tours. Naidu spent time discussing issues like power tariff, power supply, prices of essential commodities and prices of farm products to connect with the people.

Naidu's stress on making Vijayawada-Guntur twin cities like Hyderabad-Secunderabad and develop them into IT hub floored the students and youth. "I want to develop the region into an international IT hub. I want to provide you the comfort of working from near your home towns," Naidu said during an interaction with engineering students which obviously left an impression on them. "We believe that he is one leader who can curb the corruption and provide us new opportunities," observed Sadineni Haarika, a student.

What about particular vote banks?

After entering Guntur district five days ago, Naidu set his eyes chiefly on SC colonies and dalit hamlets. Earlier, the TDP was anxious about YSRCP making inroads into the SC vote bank and Naidu made a serious effort to win them back.

Taking the assistance of Manda Krishna Madiga, Naidu visited almost all the Madiga dominated colonies in Guntur and lured them with his promise to implement the classification of SC reservations. While his tour in SC colonies in Guntur city were planned for just two hours, it took a whole day for Naidu to cover them as locals stopped his padayatra at several junctions. Strong votaries of the TDP, the Kammas of two-town area, planned a grand welcome to Naidu and even the colleges and schools owned by them declared holiday on Saturday. However, they were made to wait till Monday following an unexpected reception for Naidu in SC colonies, which delayed his entire schedule.

Why has this after election deal been pre poned before elections. Looks like TDP is stronger than in 2009.

Regarding Rahul Ghandi, I think may be willing to let him lose 2014 for PG to be head and take the INC to victory later.

As Ravi Shankar Prasad and SSwamy and others have pointed out, Sonia and her children seem to have a lot of understanding and sympathy for Nalini etc.

The lawyer (a PUCL activitist as well) who defended four of Veeru's gang is cribbing and in an I told you.. mode. It was the defendents who took up the case to SC, and got the death sentence. The Karnataka HC had only given them life terms.

itself had made some gestures in assuring her life. Secondly I guess hanging a woman would be a very controversial move. What we need to see is the fate of Murugan and Santhan. These two were LTTE cadres and Sri Lankan citizens who only landed up here to cause trouble (like Ajmal Kasab). The other chap Perarivalan is our own home-grown fellow and the politicians may say that he was just an accomplice (like Afsal Guru). If Kasab can be hanged, I dont see what is so special about Murugan and Santhan. But would eagerly watch out for the Tamil politics here.

NIA is doing everything to prevent sadhvi prayag's bail. The judge has no balls to give bail. He pleads the defense and prosecution to make a deal. He never asks why they did not file a case. They are hoping she will die with cancer before elections so that they can claim that Hindu terrorists has been killed because of madam.
