Muslims need not reside to plant bombs. More over who will recruit people who live in there to plant bombs?, they will be first to be questioned. Thirdly, muslim population in Dilsukhnagar is not that much, it is predominantly a non-muslim residential/commercial place.

ramana, you're better off deleting the posts that don't contribute anything to this thread. That will get the message across. I see a lot of spammish comments here like I do on the comment section of ToI and Rediff. The known facts of this blast can be summarised in three sentences yet there are three page worth of comments here.

2 or 3 Blasts? This news outlet says its three. Dilsukh nagar seems to be situated in the midst of some important places like Begumpet Airport, banjara hills, Osmania, salarjung museum and charminar.

At least 12 killed, scores hurt in 2 explosions in southern Indian city of Hyderabad
The blasts occurred about two minutes apart at around 7 p.m. outside a movie theater and a bus station, police said. Storefronts were shattered, motorcycles covered in debris, and food and plates from a roadside restaurant were scattered on the ground near a tangle of dead bodies. Passersby rushed the bleeding and wounded out of the area.

Ind Express report:
....
Eleven people have been killed and 50 injured in two bomb explosions which took place within minutes of each other in Hyderabad Thursday. The serial blasts hit the busy Dilsukhnagar area in Hyderabad, which is filled with cinema halls, shops and restaurants, just after 7 pm, police said.
One bomb exploded outside a cinema hall and another at a bus stand. Both bombs were suspected to have been kept on bicycles within about 100-150 m of each other. Witnesses said that there was a stampede-like situation after the blasts as people fled the area.
Reacting to the serial explosions in Hyderabad, Union Home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said in Delhi that eight people were killed in the first blast and three in the second, adding that the toll could rise. Shinde also said that the Centre had some intelligence about the possibility of an attack and it had been passed on to the states even though the information was not specific..![]()

{Isnt this worng as the October interrogation identified theree locations in hyderabad as being surveyed by a terrorist: Abids, Dilsukhnagar and a third one?}
Police in Hyderabad said that the victims were being rushed to nearby hospitals and bomb disposal squads had been sent to the area. A NSG team was also being rushed to the city in a BSF aircraft, Union Home secretary R K Singh said. The local unit of the NIA was also reaching the spots, officials added.
{Very good opportunity to cover-up just like in Varanasi blast case in which they didn't even know what exploded!}
.......
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh condemned the blasts and said those behind the dastardly act would not go unpunished. He appealed for peace and calm in the aftermath of the attack and announced that the families of those killed would be paid Rs 2 lakh and the injured would get Rs 50,000.
{When guilty are finally punihed he admonished the Home Minister of being callous in using nail post to inform the family of their sartaaj being hanged for murder! So his assurances have - 0-0 (negative infinty) credibility}
Dilsukhnagar had been targeted in November 2002 as well when a bomb was set off in front of the Sri Sai Baba temple there. That bomb was reported to have been packed in a tiffin box and placed on a scooter.
Sources in Delhi said that a team of officers from the NIA, NSG and CFSL is being flown to Hyderabad to join investigations and examine the sites of the blasts.
Guilty won't go unpunished, says PM on Hyderabad blasts
New Delhi: Strongly condemning the blasts in Hyderabad, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tonight said those responsible for the 'dastardly' act would not go unpunished as he appealed for peace.![]()
Singh sanctioned Rs 2 lakh each to next of kin of those killed in the blasts and Rs 50,000 each to those seriously injured from the PM's Relief Fund.
The meeting of the Union Cabinet, which was in progress when the blasts took place, was informed about the incident.
{What were they meeting on at that time in the evening?}
"The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has strongly condemned the bomb blasts in Hyderabad. While expressing shock and grief over the loss of lives in the blasts, the Prime Minister has appealed to the public to remain calm and maintain peace," an official statement said.
"This is a dastardly attack, the guilty will not go unpunished," the Prime Minister added.
He has directed the central agencies to extend all possible help to the Andhra Pradesh state authorities in relief operations.
The country needs an effective police force and not relief after terrorist bombing. Its not an accident or act of nature Moron Mumble Singh}

15 killed in Hyderabad serial blasts
A blast near the Sai Baba temple at this same Dilkushnagar had killed two people in 2002. Fourteen were killed in another explosion at the city's Mecca Masjid on May 18, 2007. But the worst terrorist outrage at Hyderbad was on 25 August, 2007 when 42 people were killed in two serial blasts at the Gokul Chat shop in a busy area of the city. The next day, police found 19 unexploded bombs that could have made the situation worse if they had gone off.
Re: Hyderabad Bomb Blast 2/21/13
We practically cannot stop every terrorist attack but what we CAN do is to put a very heavy price on each successfull attack. It is not too much to ask from a government of the 7th largest mass of land and the 2nd largest mass of human population and the 3rd largest economy and the 2nd largest army on the planet.
Re: Hyderabad Bomb Blast 2/21/13
Quite a lot of deaths from islamic terrorism. At the end of the day good policy is going to get us out of this. Whether or not we do covert, overt, or nothing, Pakistan is going to be a jelly state (mj akbars words). We just need to get our own act together and significantly strengthen our internal security, intelligence, and military, create a new political system, and industrialize.
Re: Hyderabad Bomb Blast 2/21/13
Unless INC party is flushed out of India, there is no hope. Even this attack and any action on it do NOT deter future attacks. Terrorists that INC loves, can attack after a month at the same place, nothing changes.abhijitm wrote:We practically cannot stop every terrorist attack but what we CAN do is to put a very heavy price on each successfull attack. October 29th: Three explosions went off in New Delhi which killed more than 60 people and injured at least 200 others. This was in a busy shopping district shortly before Diwali.
July 5th: Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists attacked the Ram Janmabhoomi site in Ayodhya. In the two-hour gunfight between Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists based in Pakistan and Indian police, six terrorists were killed. The attack was believed to have been masterminded by Dawood Ibrahim.
This comes to a total of 800 Indian citizens dead, thousands more injured, NOT including J&K, Maoist violence or chronically insurgency-struck Northeastern States. All under Manmohan Singh's Watch. Those totals will only go up further with today's atrocity in Hyderabad.
What about Manmohan Singh's side of the bargain?
Have those responsible for ANY of these dastardly acts been punished?
Other than the accused Saffron Terrorists, of course... whose guilt remains, to date, impossible for the government to establish in any court of law.

Bombs Across Hyderabad in Apparent Terrorist Attack
Apparently, some Helpline numbers & Ambulance numbers passed around in Twitter are mobile numbers. I don't know if its working, hyderabadis please check and report it to the concerned authorities.The attacks happened shortly after 7:00 p.m. local time in the crowded commercial district of Dilsukh Naga. Police believe one of the bombs may have been planted by a man on a motorcycle, and appeared to target high-traffic areas, including a bus stop and a pedestrian bridge, and possibly a movie theater. Authorities have jammed local cellphone networks both to prevent more bombs from going off and to prevent false information from spreading. Unfortunately, that also prevents citizens from tracking down loved ones or disseminiting actual, useful details.

Kasab was for 26/11/2008 terrorist attack.
Afzal Gan** is for the 2001 Lok Sabha attack and not on MMS watch.
How many have been even charged let alone punished for the spate of attacks since 2004 when MMS became the Prime Minster?
Should MMS get credit for hanging he was not aware off?
By his own admission he was unaware of both hangings and blamed Shinde!!!

Go for fast tracked terrorism tribunals with just one appeal to the supreme court, let this tribunal work out all the technicalities, unfortunately this is politicized.abhijitm wrote:Theo_Fidel wrote:

Cases have to be prioritized based on the impact on society, these terrorist cases have a potential of blowing into communal clashes breeding few hundred more legal cases at one go, entirely avoidable.
Bottomline, never let a terrorist free even if acquitted on technical grounds

Actually under Manmohan Singh's watch, they DO get away almost every time. .
Let's look at the two who were hanged.
Afzal Guru was arrested in 2001, and convicted by a POTA court in 2002. Manmohan Singh can only take credit for the generous length of time before his sentence was executed, 2004-2013. In fact, Manmohan Singh's government repealed the POTA in 2004... so it's anybody's guess whether Afzal Guru would even have been convicted under MMS' watch.
Ajmal Kasab was arrested, at ALL, only because of the supreme bravery and sacrifice of one constable Tukaram Ombale, who charged the AK-wielding jihadi with only a lathi in hand. Had Kasab simply been toasted like the other 26/11 attackers, what would we have had? A corpse, with a "Red String" tied around his wrist. Let's not forget that the credibility of "Red String" = "Saffron Terrorist" was an idea handed over to the ISI on a silver platter, by Digvijay Singh of the INC. The very seed of this propaganda never existed, before Manmohan Singh assumed power.
Re: Hyderabad Bomb Blast 2/21/13
DNA news report gives some idea of the blast place:
People thought the first blast was gas cylinder explosion
People thought the first blast was gas cylinder explosion
I dont think its was ANFO. It needs a lot of ANFO to do so much damage. And much more than can be loaded on to a bicycle. I think the DGP spoke too soon or was to confuse the issue.As the first blast occurred near a tea-cum-fast food centre diagonally opposite the busy Konark theatre area here around 1905 hours today, everyone first thought it was a gas cylinder had burst.
By the time the impact was felt, there were at least five-six bodies strewn around in a pool of blood with footwear and other objects scattered all around the place. Many others had sustained injuries while several vehicles parked there were either burnt or damaged.
In both cases, the explosives were fitted to bicycles and parked amid the bustling crowds.
Hundreds of people in the vicinity had hardly regained their senses when, in less than five minutes, another blast was heard just about 150 metres away at a crowded city bus stop close to Venkatadri theatre on the main road.
Here too, five persons were killed instantly as the bomb exploded.
The evening show had just ended in Venkatadri and a large audience was making its way out at that time.
The second blast spot has at least ten bus shelters in a row and, apart from scores of passengers, several small-time vendors would be doing their business on the service road.
It's normally difficult to find even a toe space around the Dilsukhnagar Bus Stand area in Hyderabad from early morning till late in the night. Such is the flow of vehicular traffic and people in the area which is located on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway.
"The impact of the blast at the bus stop was such that interiors of two shops right behind it in a three-storied building were badly damaged and left one person dead," an eye-witness said.
Dumbfounded shop-keepers and people around after getting to know what had happened started shifting the victims to nearby hospitals.

Police sources said that CCTV cameras were installed in the area and their footage would be examined by the NIA and National Security Guards (NSG) to specific clues.

Rudradev, The bogey of saffron terror has confused the AP police that they discounted the Center's information. Can applaud Doggy SIngh and his Kutta brigade for this achievement.

DP claim of IM recce raises questions
This Hyd bomb attack shows how wrong and misguided he is.
He has managed to send confusing signals to the police forces in an INC run state and jepoardised lives.

DP claim of IM recce raises questions
And recall just a month ago in Jaipur chintan/baitak (looks like a dump session) Shinde was claiming Hindu terrorists and had to regret making these statements. So when he got interrogation reports/information in Oct 2012 about posssible IM terrorist strikes on Hyd how did he dream up lies about Hindu terror?Hours after a series of bomb blasts rocked the Dilsukhnagar in Hyderabad on Thursday evening, police sources in Delhi claimed that two suspected members of a terror outfit who were arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell last year had spoken of conducting a “recce” of the area in July 2012.
The claim is likely to raise questions about what the Delhi Police did with this information, and whether their counterparts in Hyderabad were alerted about the possibility that terrorists might target Dilsukhnagar.
According to Delhi Police sources, the two suspected members of the ‘Indian Mujahideen’ who were arrested from Hyderabad in October 2012 told interrogators that they had conducted reconnaissance of different parts of Hyderabad in July. "They disclosed that they had carried out a survey at Dilsukhnagar and Begum Bazar in Hyderabad on a motorcycle to identify places that could be targeted.”
The Special Cell said it cracked their module following purported revelations by Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal, an alleged handler of the 26/11 Mumbai attack.
{So based on high level inof they got two operatives arrested in October 2012. They were told by these two that they had recced Dilsukh Nagar, which was a former attack location. The DP then informed AP police. What did the AP police do?}
With police claims about Islamist groups being behind various bomb blasts in Hyderabad eventually turning out to be incorrect, police officers in the city have been guarded about speculating on the record about who might be responsible for Thursday's bombings.
{Delhi was sending confused messages. On one hand it says terrorists will strike in Hyderabda. On the other hand their ministers claim that Saffron Terrorists are on the lose in India. So the AP police discounted the info and did not take any action. After Oct12 information the minimum would have been to increase the beat police in those two areas.}
This Hyd bomb attack shows how wrong and misguided he is.
He has managed to send confusing signals to the police forces in an INC run state and jepoardised lives.

Re: Hyderabad Bomb Blast 2/21/13
Here is an attempt at equal-equal by taking a sample of 2 muslim victims and 2 hindu victims when the total dead is more than 15 and 87 injured in a hindu majority area, while IM may consider the killed muslims as collateral damage due to demographics
http://www.rediff.com/news/slide-show/s ... 130222.htm
Again based on the demographics of the recced areas can't the police tell whose motivations those plans align with?
Abids and Dilsukhnagar are mostly Hindu areas while the Begum Bazaar maybe a red herring if muslim dominated, or if the IM was serious about this area, it becomes a good reason why the Old city folks should rat out these IM perpetrators should they have any clue.

Hindu reports that
B.Raman writes Are Hyderabad blasts the handiwork of locals?Eyewitnesses at Anand Tiffin Centre, near the spot where the first blast took place, said someone began shouting about a bomb going off. Even as confused people watched, the IED detonated.

the frustrating part is we are shit out of luck with these sort of intermittent blasts
With the sort of population and foot traffic in all these places - really need God to help us.
sigh - depressing
