Not sure why Omar Abdullah feels compelled to criticise the centre for hanging Afzal Guru. A terrorist met his just end; and that's all there is to it. Its pretty disgusting that Omar Abdullah and his ilk are looking to salvage some votes out of sympathising with the terrorist and his supporters. The average Kashmiri must have no doubt whatsoever that if you are caught conspiring to attack the State, you will hang from a noose; its a pity that these gormless politicians would like some to think otherwise. I hope he has the decency and common sense to visit the policemen who have been injured in the clashes and offer them his support.

SRINAGAR/NEW DELHI: A day after Afzal Guru's hanging, Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah cautioned the Centre against being selective in executing those convicted of attacking symbols of democracy, and suggested that the government now move to implement the death penalty of killers of Rajiv Gandhi and Beant Singh, both equally symbols of state.
"Why is it that you are in such a rush to execute one and not execute the others?" Omar asked. The executions of Balwant Singh Rajoana, who killed former Punjab CM Beant Singh, and Santham, Murugan and Perarivalan, involved in the assassination of former PM Rajiv Gandhi, have been stayed by courts.
Murugan, Santhan and Perarivalan were convicted by the Supreme Court in May 1999. Their mercy petitions were rejected by then President Pratibha Patil in August 2011. But they appealed against the rejection of their clemency petition by the President. Their hanging, scheduled for September 9, 2011, was stayed by Madras high court which is hearing the case. Rajoana was to hang on March 31, 2012, but his execution was also stayed as one his co-convicts moved the court for judicial review just two days before the hanging.

At least 40 people were injured in the day-long clashes between security forces and violent protestors on Saturday, even as authorities clamped curfew on the entire valley in the wake of Afzal Guru's hanging in Delhi.
Defying curfew restrictions, violent mobs indulged in stone throwing at police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Baramulla, Srinagar and south Kashmir's Anantnag districts.
A senior police official said the injured included 23 policemen who were controlling violent mobs during the day.
I mean I've always wondered why these terrorist pukes like Yasin Mallik, Umar Fukroo etc are called "moderate". Also, the whining en masse about Afzal Guru is there for all to see. There is no rational solution possible with these punks in our generation, and heaven knows how many more. The only course for India will be to have this military presence in the valley for however long it takes. It must part of the national psyche, not J&K being some far away land that can just be managed. WKK, and Kashmir report author, Dileep Pangonkar, surprisingly was of the same view in his TOI blog (can't find the URL).
I never thought he was capable of smiling , having not seen him once smiling. But that was wrong idea. He is smiling in the company of traitors and terrorists,
The US pullout from Afghanistan is on schedule for 2014 and we may have a new party at the center this year. The timing of the meeting is no coincidence.
Mr. Chidambaram has sought to blame the Army for the failure to repeal the draconian Act but the government is equally guilty as it has abdicated responsibility in the matter
The cat is slowly wriggling out of the bag - Grandma first, Equal-Equal Blame and next repeal AFSPA Act.
This terrorist scumbag, Yasin Malik, personally lead the attack that killed four unarmed Indian Air Force personnel (who were living outside the base) in Jan 1990 while they were waiting at a bus stop in Srinagar on their way to work. Even though he was caught, for some stupid reason (apparently he renounced violence: what does that mean after you kill four people?) the Indian government released him. An officer I know was commanding IAF Base in Srinagar when Yasin Malik killed his men. Several years later, when that officer was commanding Western Air Command, he was asked to send a transport aircraft to Srinagar to evacuate Yasin Malik to New Delhi to receive medical treatment:
Air Chief: Bruno, hawaii jahaaj bhej de na Srinagar, Yasin Malik ko evacuate kar na hai, sarkar ka order hai
C-in-C: silence
Air Chief: samajh gaye Bruno
C-in-C: sir, main aircraft nahin bhejne waala
Air Chief: shaant raho Bruno ...
C-in-C: sir, agar woh mere aircraft me aaya, to main usko take off ke baad cargo door se bahar paharon par phek doon ga
Air Chief: Bruno ...
The Air Chief knew that the C-in-C wasn't joking.
Government of India had to send a Home Ministry aircraft to evacuate the b*st*rd.
Govt considers revoking Yasin Malik’s passport for sharing stage with 26/11 kingpin
NEW DELHI: Embarrassed and angered by Kashmiri separatist leader YasinMalik's decision to share the stage with 26/11 mastermind HafizSaeed in Islamabad to mourn the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, the government is weighing the option of revoking his passport on grounds of national security.
The government should not let Yasin Malik re-enter India. He should stay in Pakistan with Hafiz Saeed; they look so happy together.
Yasin Malik's ugly mug is the perfect face of Kashmiri 'jihad'. Keep the twisted prick alive, showcase him with feigned reluctance, give him more camera time, let his photu adorn a million magazines covers.
Militant separatists are killing the elected village leaders, in the latest setback for a region beset by schisms. Andrew Buncombe reports from Goripora
Since 2011 when about 34,000 village council leaders – or sarpanches – were elected in Indian-controlled Kashmir in an experiment in grass-roots democracy, at least eight have been killed and countless more threatened, apparently by Pakistan-based militant separatist groups. Thousands of those who took up posts in order to help local development now say they want to quit.
Officials estimate there may be 300 militants living on the Indian side of the Line of Control, of whom 50 are considered “active”. Most are linked to militant groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahedin, based across the border in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. Starting in the late 1980s and peaking in the early 1990s, the militancy and attendant operations by security forces have claimed at least 50,000 lives. Hundreds of thousands of Hindus have been forced from the Muslim-dominated region
It was a more banana republic when this very same Mufti ordered release of terrorists for securing his daughter's release. This man has no right to talk about Indian Republic.
Yaseen Malik episode exposing all the so called "secular" leaders of j&k. We need to stop subsidizing these people and open the state up to investment and competition.
During the stone throwing jihad fest of 2010, the J&K government would actually deliver baby powder (powdered milk) free of cost to the stone throwing families at night/evenings, so that they would not have to suffer. Of course, this means, that we were paying for the baby powder being delivered to the stone throwers and their families. Within India, millions of kids do not ever get the privilege of receiving such luxuries in their lives.

stone throwing jihad fest of 2010 was a funded projct which was to shake the Indian economy and Indian resolve in the international scene.
The amount of comments from Chinese and Pak on Indian economy during that time reveals a lot.
AFter 2008 mumbai attack they were watching if India will succumb to low gowth and collapse. With global fin crisis of 2009 India was not supposed to thrive an even do well. Teyincreased the pressue in 2010 and nothing happened
2010 was a surprise and all the heads of the states visited India by end of 2010.
National Conference leader and Union Minister Farooq Abdullah said he was sad that ‘Afzal Guru should have died without being able to say goodbye to the people he loved’, but cautioned all against playing it up to such an extent as to jeopardise the country’s ‘hard-earned freedom and status as one nation’.
“Afzal Guru was given a trial but lost it. His mercy petition to the President too was turned down,” Mr. Abdullah said, while launching the State government’s 10,000 roof-top solar power plant programme here on Monday.
He added that the terrorist attack on Parliament in which Guru was implicated was a frontal attack on the conscience of the nation.
Mr. Abdullah said he was afraid of the ‘enemy within the country than outside.’ The country had gone through tragedies and no one wanted another.
This guy actively collaborated with the mortal enmies of Indian People, Constituion and tried to kill the people attending the Instituion which is symbolic/ representative of nation's will. Mercy was in the fact that he was kept alive for so long in much comfort that he was even able to produce a baby with his wife. In Any Islamic majority area, he would have been hacked and packed to Hoorland on the spot. Misplaced compassion for terroirsts is irrational and irrelevent.
Despite Yindoo twisting the title, he is treading on egg shells, unlike his reckless son
Ever seen the movie Braveheart? The Father of Robert the Bruce is told about William Wallace's rebellion. He tells his son:
You will embrace this rebellion. Support it from our lands in the north. I will gain English favor by condemning it and ordering opposed from our lands in the south. Sit down. Stay awhile.
It was a more banana republic when this very same Mufti ordered release of terrorists for securing his daughter's release. This man has no right to talk about Indian Republic.
Mufti's statement is showing criminal contempt for the law; he should be prosecuted and sentenced to prison.

Well I have had the (dis)pleasure of meeting Yasin Malik in 1989, when as a kid in school I just saw him at public function and he was hailed around as some kind of super hero. He was young and there was Jihad in the air and this little kuffar kid (me) was quite scared to see this hero of the Kashmiri jihad.
I met him again in Srinagar last year and exchanged pleasantries when he had come to mourn the death of a prominent Hindu in Srinagar. He gave a speech on the occasion as well about how Hindus and Muslims were brothers who should live together in complete harmony. This speech was in total contrast to what I had heard him say 23 years back. Now this time this kuffar man (me again) smirked.
What had changed ?
Well the treatment that was meted out to him after he killed those Airforce men was the best thing that happened to him. The once big strong jihadi had since become a weak sick squint eyed guy with a host of medical problems. He was properly sorted out by whoever took charge of him. He deserved even worse but I am happy with what happened with him.

BTW, I'll take words of Abdullahs and Malik with lots of salt. Nobody should trust a single word they say.
They made him Namard with lot of daily Dard in all part of body and little mind. Any Jihadi or Islamist rioting in the Valley should be made infertile/Khassi as punishement.
Don't wait for a crisis
The so-called 'four point' formula (no change in boundaries; more autonomy on either side) mooted by Pervez Musharraf in talks with both Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh is clearly the blue print for the future, if other outstanding issues, primarily the one of terrorism, were addressed.
Right now, our focus should be on reducing the widening gap in political rhetoric between Delhi and Srinagar. Remember the eruption of street protests in 2010? It was a crisis that finally brought an all-party delegation to the Valley. But if a crisis is the only time we pay attention to J&K, the crisis could return just as suddenly, without any preamble and despite the tourists and the tulips in bloom.
The awful woman is hoping for more violence in the valley this summer to vindicate her vacuous views.
And for those wondering what the 4-point(less) formula is, see:
General Musharraf’s four point formula can provide an effective roadmap in Kashmir: 1) self governance, which is a political concept not a political concession, 2) demilitarization- “Well, if violence goes and if peace returns, you don’t need the armies. Let the armies go to barracks,” 3) Irrelevant borders which implies free movement of people and trade between India and Pakistan, and between the two Kashmirs, 4) Joint management of Kashmir, which is not joint control. Joint management will mean that India, Pakistan, and the two Kashmirs will comprise a group. A group to man- age common interests and common issues like trade, tourism, and river waters etc. Joint management is politico-social concept in the sense that politics and the social milieu will be considered together. These four points would enable the two countries to build trust amongst each other by in- creasing understanding, communication and mutual good will. Therefore, Musharraf’s four point formula through joint management and self govern- ance, demilitarization and irrelevant borders and free trade will provide a case worthy of pursuit.
This is the formula that Dr. Manmohan Singh is in favour of. No wonder he wants to demilitarise Siachen to establish a precedent. Traitor.
Fools like Barkha Dutt think that (1) India's position in Kashmir is not legitimate, and (2) Pakistan will cease its jihad against India if India makes enough concessions on the status of J&K. Just no understanding of the deep hatred the jihadis have for India and their commitment to destroy India. Even less understanding that the jihadis own Pakistan, it's army, and it's centres of power.
My father used to work in a GoI dept turned PSU. And local staff at Srinagar station was notorious for not working and taking all the namaz breaks by the book. Very punctual except when it came to work.
Till the time Article 370 gets purged this kind of behaviour will not get solved.
2 cops shot dead today in the Handwara area. Incidents like these should be highlighted to show that militancy is far from over, and to remind people of the immense sacrifices India is making to keep Kashmir within India, and away from the Islamists and Pakistani military.
True, many of those non-Indians, particularly from the Western countries, who comment intensively on Kashmir, are not people who are/were sympathetic to India's anti-colonial ideology and movement. So they don't even have their fundamentals down pat. India is keeping Kashmir for ideological, philosophical, historical, economic and ideological reasons.

These fools are really 'imagining' history as their title suggests.
This retard is just an old cold warrior taking a little bit of baksheesh from his Paki clients. His clients in the Australian defence and intelligence community probably have no use for him in the post 9/11 world. So he's hoping for a Chinese invasion to save Pakistan's sorry a$$. Certainly this book will contribute to his pension.

Some things never change... in spite of the article header, it may not have been terrorists who sent the letter, but simply ordinary Kashmiri Muslims showing their habitual hatred for these beleaguered Hindus....
“As per report received from the State Government of Jammu and Kashmir, a threatening letter/poster to leave Kashmir within a week was received through post by Secretary, Pandit Colony Sheikhpora, Budgam. The post, however, did not have any evidence or proof of its origin from any of the militant organisations.
“In this connection an FIR no 225/2012 under section 13 ULA Act 120-B RPC has been registered. Adequate security arrangements are in place in and around the migrant colonies to ensure safety of the Kashmiri Pandits,” Singh said in the written reply in the Upper House.
There are approximately 4,000 Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley.
Abrogate Article 370, create small exclusive enclaves for Kashmiri Hindus. Settle more Hindus from other states and kick anyone who talks about special rights of islamic goons. If secularism is so important, make these idiots behave, else they can always leave and live in TSP, no one is forcing them to be in India.
