Internal Security Watch
Re: Internal Security Watch
sunnyP,so were those faceless who were killed and their faceless near and dear ones. The issue is about Sanjay Dutt, not his parents, sister, wife and children.
A few weeks back, one of the newspapers which claims itself as the 'National newspaper' displayed the photograph of Afzal Guru's son and captioned it 'In Anguish'. There was no photograph of Gautam Negi, the anguished son of Late Matbar Singh Negi, Watch & Ward Staff of Parliament who died because of Afzal Guru's actions.
By bringing in such extraneous and unwanted elements into the equation, we dilute matters and generate a wave of avoidable sympathy.

Re: Internal Security Watch
Was wondering why this fellow Yakub Memon came back and surrendered?
Re: Internal Security Watch
Yakub Memon was a scapegoat sent to test waters in India. He and his team still in Pakistan felt that somehow they can pull wool over the eyes of Indian judiciary. It did not work. We, especially Mumbaikars, should now be prepared for more terrorism.
Re: Internal Security Watch
I hope to be totally wrong on this, but every 10 years cycle of some major catastrophe/upheaval -1962, (1971-72),(1983-84),(1992-93),(2001-2002),.....
Is it some inherent action-reaction clock for India, or whether these are specifically timed and pre-meditated instigations?

As per MN Singh, ex mumbai police commissioner on CNN-IBN TV just now, dawood sent feelers for surrender with conditions.SSridhar wrote:Yakub Memon was a scapegoat sent to test waters in India. He was to be kept only under house arrest
He was not to be tried in any other case except the Mumbai blast case
He was not to be "encountered"
Feelers were sent through ram jethmalani's son, mahesh.

A few throw away comments about Safforn terror, but all in all, amazing what a good journalist can do if he can stop being part of the manipulative media.Let’s test the assumptions against the facts in the Bangalore case. Focused on the release of Mirza and Siddiqui, media accounts have mostly skimmed over the fact that 12 of the 15 alleged Bangalore jihad conspirators held have actually been charged. The NIA’s charge-sheet outlines perhaps the most ambitious jihadist project since 26/11, and the first Indian case involving online self-radicalisation.
This is precisely why police forces across the world are allowed, by law, to arrest suspects during investigation. No demand of pre-arrest certitude is made in other kinds of cases, notably last year’s Delhi rape-murder: the suspects were held long before forensic evidence became available.
Last year, the Jamia Teachers Solidarity Association, a human rights lobbying group, published an apparently damning study of 16 prosecutions brought by the Delhi Police’s elite counter-terrorism Special Cell, showing that each case ended in acquittal amidst charges of illegal detention, fabricated evidence and torture. The Delhi Police, however, pointed out that they secured convictions in 68 percent of terrorism cases – and, notably, had done so in six of the 16 cases the JTSA flagged. In the US, with enormously better-resourced police, the figure is around 87 percent
In 2012, 914 Maoists were arrested; less than a tenth of that number were held in cases related to Islamist terrorism. This isn’t even counting-in arrests in two states where there are mainly Hindu-led insurgencies, Assam and Manipur.
I’ve sometimes wondered if the problem isn’t deeper: whether the cultural memes inherited by English-medium liberals, including myself, cloud our judgment. The figure of the martyr Christ, rebel against tyrannical power, is profoundly seductive; it is the the unacknowledged foundation-stone for the western human rights movements. Yet, the Romans were right to caution against the seduction of the martyrs’ voice.
Imagine a Indian media which is full of people who speak the truth.

Pro-Tamil activists attack Aurobindo Ashram

A group of pro-Tamil activists today barged into the Aurobindo Ashram, damaged furniture and smashed glass panes after reportedly attacking and injuring the watchman.
Police said activists of the Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (PDK) also smashed flower pots and damaged the notice board, a clock and the ashram emblem atop the main gate.
They also raised pro-Tamil slogans, police said, adding that the reason for the attack was not known.
Ashram sources said the activists hit the watchman on the head before forcing their way into the Ashram. No devotee was present inside as the visiting time had ended, they said.
Police said 20 PDK activists were arrested in connection with the incidents. Cases were registered against them under various sections of the IPC relating to unlawful assembly, causing hurt and damage to property, they said.

I guess Mr Katju has lost his cashews and should refrain from further exposure of his moroness.

PTI reports Katju seeking pardon for Sanjay Dutt.
Katju seeks pardon for Sanjay Dutt
Even before the sentence is carried out!!!
I dont know in what capacity he makes these outrageous demands like thought police.
SD got linence already after not being charged under TADA. His driver got 10 years. and was most lkely carrying out his instructions.
Katju is making false equivalence with Commander Nanavati case which is 40 years old and is a crime of passion while this is a premeditated violation of the Arms Act and SD got the minimum of five years instead of the maximum.
Speaking of clouds hanging over him, SD did not show any remorse and acted in many movies in the last 20 years glorifying gangsters and criminals with auotmatic weapons.
If people are sorry for Sunil Dutt due to the actions of Sanjay Dutt, I am sorry for the great Kailash Nath katju for the actions of his moron son MK Katju!

Following the Supreme Court upholding the sentencing of film star Sanjay Dutt to five-year imprisonment by a TADA court in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, Press Council of India (PCI) chief Markandey Katju has appealed to Maharashtra Governor K. Sankarnarayanan to pardon the actor.
In a statement issued here, Mr. Katju sought pardon for Mr. Dutt under Article 161 of the Constitution saying that he had not been found guilty of having played a role in the 1993 blasts and had suffered a lot.![]()
{What about all the people who died in the Mumbai blasts perpetrated by associtates of Sanjay Dutt? And their families? Does Katju weep for only Sanjay Dutt? Where is his comapssion for all others who suffered? Are they also not humans if not peolpe of influence? This false sense of mercy to criminals even when they are guilty is the bane of Indian justice system.}
Mr. Katju said the Supreme Court, having found that Mr. Dutt had in his possession a prohibited weapon without a licence, awarded him the minimum imprisonment which was prescribed under law.
“Section 25 (1(A) of the Arms Act states that if a person has in his possession a prohibited weapon without a licence, he shall be awarded punishment of not less than 5 years imprisonment and not more than 10 years,” Mr. Katju said.
He added the power of pardon under Article 161 by the Constitution was different from judicial power as the Governor or the President could grant pardon or reduce the sentence of the court even if a minimum was prescribed.![]()
“Hence, there is no doubt that the Governor can grant pardon/reduce the sentence. For example, in the case of Commander Nanavati who was held guilty of murder, the Governor gave him pardon although the minimum sentence for murder is life sentence,” Mr. Katju said.
He said the Supreme Court had not found Mr. Dutt guilty of the blasts but only found him guilty of having in his possession a prohibited weapon without licence.
“Surely, this is a lesser offence than murder. When the Governor of Maharashtra granted pardon to Nanavati, surely he can grant pardon to Sanjay,” Mr. Katju said.
{False equivalence. Nanavati was crime of passion. Sanjay Dutt was an associate of the underworld criminals who carried out the blasts.}
He added though Mr. Dutt had committed an offence there were extenuating circumstances like that the event happened 20 years ago.![]()
“During this period, Sanjay suffered a lot and had a cloud hovering over his head throughout. He had to undergo various tribulations and indignities during this period. He had to go to court often, he had to take the permission of the court for foreign shootings, and he could not get bank loans,” Mr. Katju said.![]()
![]()
The PCI chairperson said Mr. Dutt had already undergone 18 months in jail.
“He has not been held to be a terrorist and had no hand in the bomb blasts. His parents Sunil Dutt and Nargis worked for the good of society and the nation. Sunil Dutt and Nargis often went to border areas to give moral support to our brave jawans and did other social work,” Mr. Katju said.
{It was due to the parents good karma that he was not charged under TADA. }
He pointed out that through his films he had revived the memory of Mahatma Gandhi and the message of Gandhiji, an apparent reference to “Gandhigiri” in Munnabhai films.![]()
{The irony is lost on this great forgiver. The phrase popularised rhymes with goondagiri and gives the connotation that Gandhiji was also equally using forceful non-violence. Its only idiots who think Sanjay Dutt was emualting MKG. He was mocking him}
“In these circumstances, I respectfully appeal to Your Excellency to pardon Sanjay Dutt and set him free,” Mr. Katju said in his letter to the Governor and referred to the speech of Portia in Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice that justice should be tempered with mercy.
{Yes but to those who show remorse and are deserving! Protia was pleading for Antonio and not for the Merchant of Vencie!}
Re: Internal Security Watch
Investigation was without prejudice:ATS Chief
Good job Mumbai Police we salute you for this effort.“Verdict proves our team did the perfect job”
The Supreme Court verdict has proved that the investigation by the Mumbai police after the 1993 bomb blasts was without any prejudice, chief of Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Maharashtra Rakesh Maria has said.
“A team of around 162 officers scanned 79 towns of 17 States. A charge sheet of 9392 pages was put against 123 accused, out of which 100 have been convicted. Our team did a perfect job, which has been proved after the Supreme Court verdict,” he said.
Recalling 1993, Mr. Maria, who was the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) at the time of the blasts, said it was a maroon-coloured Maruti van found in Worli area that led them to the Al-Hussaini building, which housed the Memons, the members of a family that played an important role in the blasts on March 12, claiming 257 lives and injuring 713.
“As per the original plan, Tiger Memon had planned bomb blasts all over the country on the day of Shivjayanti. However, the plan was changed when one of his men, Gul Noor Mohammad Khan, was arrested a few days before March 12. Fearing that the plan may not materialise, it was advanced and only Mumbai was targeted,” said Mr. Maria.
Yakub Memon, who has been sentenced to death by the Supreme Court, was a chartered accountant by profession and his office was burned down in the 1992-93 riots.
“It was also planned to evoke another round of riots in the aftermath of the blasts. Huge weaponry was brought in for the purpose,” he said.
Ammunition recovered
The Mumbai Police recovered 3.5 tonnes of RDX,493 hand-grenades, 71 AK-56 rifles
, 13 9-mm pistols, 1150 electric detonators,
3 pencil timers and huge amount of ammunition after the blasts.
“It was for the first time that Mumbai’s underworld was used by the ISI to create unrest and also it was after the blasts that Bollywood’s connections with underworld came to the fore,” he said.Mr. Maria declined to comment on the verdict on actor Sanjay Dutt.
“The ways in which terrorists are functioning these days is completely different from the 1993 blasts. Those arrested in 1993 were mostly illiterate youngsters who were driven emotionally to committing this crime. Today, terror activities are planned by intelligent and educated minds,” he pointed out.
Re: Internal Security Watch

Hindu graphic that gives the short version of the SC verdict.
Looking at it, SC reduced the 6 years the TADA court would have given to Five and will take into account time already served.

Dr Jaichand Mandot,
"The blasts took place on March 12,1993, which was a Friday. The next day, Saturday, I went to my dispensary and found 10 to 15 patients waiting," Mandot says. "I could not park my car as a light blue scooter was parked in my usual space. It looked extremely dusty and seemed abandoned. It aroused my suspicion at once. After I had dealt with seven or eight patients, I came down and inspected the scooter. I found that a mysterious black substance was leaking from its dicky. I thought it might be heroin or black sugar."
He adds, "I took a very small bit of the substance, kept it on the granite platform above my water-tank, and set a match to it. The explosion caused was 4 to 5 feet high. I then went to the back of my dispensary and tried once again. This time the explosion rose 8 to 10 feet. I informed the police, who arrived within10 to 15 minutes. The entire area outside my dispensary was cordoned off from 11 am to 5 pm, till the bomb was defused."

Re: Internal Security Watch
From How the star escaped TADA
The crucial information that Sanjay had been calling Anees came from the filmstar himself. Says MN Singh, who headed the investigation, “He himself said that he had made the calls. This information came from him and only then did we get the supporting mtnl printouts.” The printouts showed that seven calls had been made to Anees’s number at White House in Dubai. The police also took a sworn affidavit from the Indian Embassy in Dubai saying that the Dubai number to which the calls were made by Sanjay was indeed that of Dawood’s brother. The police also procured the Dubai telephone directory which mentioned the same number against Anees’s name. Only a few of the over 150 accused in the serial blasts case had been in touch with either Dawood or Anees while the blasts conspiracy was being hatched. Sanjay was one of them. All these records were handed over to the CBI. However, when the time came to pin Sanjay down in court, the CBI chose to omit the record related to the telephone calls in its final submission against Sanjay before the TADA court. The prosecution’s submission, a copy of which is with Tehelka, reveals that the CBI has not brought the telephone conversation-related evidence on record.
.....
Despite the dilution in the CBI’s written submission, there was enough evidence on record. Abu Salem, Baba Mussa Chauhan and Magnum Video owner Samir Hingora — all of whom went to Sanjay’s house to deliver the consignment of arms — have each confirmed the following: one, that he was speaking to Anees when they arrived there; and two — and this is crucial — that Sanjay was eagerly awaiting their arrival. He personally supervised the consignment — aks, hand grenades and ammunition boxes — being taken out from the cavities of the Maruti van in which they had been concealed. He also provided the toolbox to prise out the arms from the places where they had been hidden. Before that, he asked the constable stationed at his mp father’s house to move away from his post. Abu Salem too was not unknown to Sanjay. Both Hingora and Chauhan describe how he “warmly hugged” Salem.

The NBPJRE are creating three sets of laws in the nation.
First set of laws is for rich and powerful - They will be allowed to make out-of-court settlement, delays in court process will be considered as part of the jail term even if the accused is on bail and enjoying all social freedoms, and finally will get mercy petitions.
Second set of laws for the religious minorities - The police agencies are influenced to kill the cases and the culprits are allowed to roam free.
Third set of laws for Hindu majority - Majority will have to live thru corrupt and extremely slow legal and justice system and live thru fake terrorism charges.
Still the majority votes for this Congress-system.

Re: Internal Security Watch
From the same tehelka link, above - yet another dilution....
In what appears to be a dilution, the CBI also failed to press the charge of destruction of evidence against Sanjay in their written submission. Initially, when the Mumbai Police filed the chargesheet, a copy of which is with Tehelka, they had slapped Sanjay with that charge. Nullwala, who destroyed the weapons on Sanjay’s instruction, has been convicted under the Arms Act. Commenting on the disparity, he told Tehelka, “This will always happen… this is nothing new… See this thing… politicians… they do every possible thing… nothing happens to them… Why? It comes in the paper… it comes on the idiot box every single day… but what happens… it’s always people like us, we have to suffer… you know, we are the example for the world…”

possession of firearms particularly deadly ones like AK 47/56 or whatever their numbers are illegal.
Sanjay Dutt is lucky to have evaded law all the years. Despite the dilution of law, still he gets 5 years. It is an open and shut case for any other Indian.
AK guns are not manufactured in India. Only defence forces have access to it or terrorists. (folks can correct me on this)

With so many anti-nationals in media, politics, bureaucracy, judiciary, Its certainly a divine intervention that is holding up country without breaking apart. Is Sayed Liyaqat Shah, arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly planning a terror attack in Delhi, innocent? And, the weapons allegedly recovered from a non-descriptive guesthouse in the heart of New Delhi planted?
While Delhi Police continues to claim that Shah was indeed a terrorist planning a strike, facts culled out by NDTV from Jammu and Kashmir which is the home state of Shah, New Delhi and Sanauli Check Post on the Indo-Nepal border, indicate otherwise.

Re: Internal Security Watch
If one star is lesss Bollywood be neither poorer or richer. Sanjay Dutt seems to have known the extent of the conspiracy going by the account put forward in Media and in Judgment. He failed to alert the Police and caused extensive loss of life . He also tried to destroy the evidence. It was not an act of Child curiosity. AK 47 is not an ordinary weapon. He should have know better.
Had he worked free of cost in movies which are touted as his reformist present or taken up the cause of victims family in a big demonstrative way one would have understood. He has carried on with his business and have charged huge amounts for each movies. His existence is no more beneficial to Indian Society then that of a Begger on the street in Mumbai.
he may be a star but he is a criminal. He deserved more then what he got. he should serve his sentence as repentance and gracefully instead of begging for pardon. If at all he should ask forgiveness from victims of the Mumbai Bomb Blast.
And to think of Judicial system which does not even consider giving bail to a cancer ridden sadhvi when no chargesheet is filed as yet. This kaju chap is a joke of human being. It is a sad commentary on human race that he exists.

The hoisting of SD, several Khans in Bollywood were systmatically done by the D company to further their ends on an unsuspecting Indian public. For eg movies with high budget and good stories were always given to D company front enders. Other actors (now considered failed) were repeatedly ignored with high flying movies. Good eg are Chandrachud Singh, Jimmy Sergill etc. Major funding for the movies come from D gang company and the profits are now going to ISI coffers for finacing terrorist activities.
Very subtle anti Hindu messages are also repeatedly sent via in Hindi movies.
Also do not forget, in addition to AK47 SD also had hand grenades that he took from the 2 guys contracted by the D company. The suicide/killing of Divya Bharati (married then to Sajid Nadiadwala) is also suspected to be related to the Mumbail attacks.

On the other hand a 71yr old Muslim woman is also punished for the same crime but less personal involvement and no one feels bad for her.
No wonder people are disgusted with this setup.

On the other hand a 71yr old Muslim woman is also punished for the same crime but less personal involvement and no one feels bad for her.
No wonder people are disgusted with this setup.

Re: Internal Security Watch
Sanjay Dutt is clearly part of the conspiracy. Yet he was let off with only the Arms Act violations. Even here he had automatic weapons and grenades. Moreover he was guilty of destruction of evidence.
Now the dilution is being argued as being different than the bomb blasts aspect. Sure but he is very guilty of the Arms act violations. He has been a part of the terrorist milieu and very involved with malfeasants.
If they pardon him might as well pardon all the murderers.

Good article summarizing why Sanjay Dutt deserves his sentence and how those who plead for him are selective and wrong.
