Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Congress + Maya will not bring Muslim vote. Why will they vote for that combo when the feel that yadav + obc + Muslim has better chance to kill bjp. Boss, congress has some die nasty vote in 8-9 districts which they will contest. No way Cong + Maya can cross 30 seats. So that is anyway the number if they contest alone. And if by any chance mullahs feel confused between sp and this combo, bjp will coast comfortably.Muppalla wrote:It is not always just math. The dynasty is not on front foot to take the mantle. Even to use its own puppet there is no chance if it just gets to 130. It has to dangle a complete game changer (non EVM) stuff. This election is between being in power vs living in jail/exile. What does Maya get by non-alignment? She will win 20 at the max if Mullahs go with Mulayam. But with a Jaya maxing and CBN getting to 25 her utility diminishes. The only way it is a win-win for her is becoming and doing the bidding of the dynasty. For congress the game changing moment is yielding to Dalit leadership and then getting a new puppet. It is 50 seater in UP. The minute Modi comes to UP, the muslims will have to go with a party that defeats BJP at a national level. Congress + Maya as projected PM will be a polarizing factor and in addition her main rival in UP will become a zero overnight.muraliravi wrote: Apart from the cbi angle? Why would maya go for alliance with congress? What does congress bring to the table in UP?
Once Congress is part of the dalit government, she is their new MMS and second decade of huge loot at the cost of development continues.

The CON brigade with the help of AK/Advani gang used Lokpal to corner and keep blackmailing Yeddi. He was foolish enough not to outsmart the scums of Delhi BJP and CON scums.
Instead, he was forced to play the game on CON's turf and the only thing he is doing is destroying himself and BJP. The way BJP insiders sabotaged their chances in K'taka at every stage, they have to blame themselves.
But remember, even in 1980s Kanndaigas were smart enough to vote separately on state vs center elections. Do you guys remember? They would vote Congress at the center and JP in the state.
NM can bring back the crowd for MP elections if D4 does not sabotage his plan of bringing Yeddi back into the fold after the state elections.
Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
the following is not out of any logic. Given our expectations from NaMo and given our track record in having heartburns i feel NaMo wont make it
Anyways - I still dont see the shrill attacks on NaMo from congies either they are confident still or there is no chance of any election close by

Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Is Praveen Bhai Thogadia touring Karnataka by any chance? I scanned the news papers but did not see any coverage for him. At least on the English media (The Hindu to be precise). And dont know if his speeches can make any difference.
Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
The trick to to make Karnataka vote totally difforent in Loksabha elections. They did that earlier and will do it if NaMo type push is there in 2014. Further vote share of Yaddi plus BJP is going to be sufficient in LokSabha and Yaddi may come back or play inteligently in 2014 to support NaMo led BJP. That way he can hit back at D4. Both said to have enjoyed good relationship and Yaddi more than once said if some one like NaMo is there his position would have been diffortnt. Remember Yaddi and most of his followers and voters are part of BJP most of their life. If given a proper "insentive" they will support BJP and may even join it.
Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
The trick is JD(S) KJP and BJP to make sure INC does not get simple majority. INC getting 90seats with JD(S) support plus Sriramulu Congress + independents would be ideal. This is the trick , if BJP had 120+ seats the Karnataka mess would not have happenned, it was the slender thin majority which allowed this mess.
Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
I like Maulana Mulayam's selective praise to Advani. Advani was the one who praised Jinnah much before Jaswant Singh
It would be interesting to see if muslims would still side with SP.
Modi's presence in UP will push the muslim either to SP or to Congress.
Them and others know well that BSP is anyway imprisoned in the dynastic coalition.

Again for Lok Sabha elections the idea to push the Minorities towards INC. this is part of the INC- SP-BSP partnership.Virendra wrote:I like Maulana Mulayam's selective praise to Advani. Advani was the one who praised Jinnah much before Jaswant Singh

Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
It might be a ploy by Mulayam Singh to garner some UC votes, and yes to push the minorities towards the INC. I think BJP should make Mulayam their primary target in UP, label him Maulana Mulayam. It just might confuse the UP Muslims enough and their votes may get split.Aditya_V wrote:Again for Lok Sabha elections the idea to push the Minorities towards INC. this is part of the INC- SP-BSP partnership.Virendra wrote:I like Maulana Mulayam's selective praise to Advani. The more BJP pushes the Muslims towards SP, less are the chances that INC wins too many seats there and the Hindu votes too may get polarized towards the BJP. Mulayam is hoping that BJP does not make him the prime target.
The Muslim votes should go to SP. The SC votes go to BSP. The biggest chunk of the rest go to BJP. INC should lose massively in UP, as well as in MH and AP. A BJP-BSP understanding may not be bad.

What is important is who 'em shady shadowy transnational networks - financial, HR, spookyness etc - are leaning towards.
Clearly, doesn't serve anybody's purpose (at least not those invested in India) to get negative or low ROIs now... a competent hand is needed to navigate around the coming storms. And those hands ain't pappu's in any case.

What if the transnational networks are working to weaken India in order to make sure that PRC is / remains the biggest player on the block.
With no competition from India.
Will it still be in their interests to remove this team?

Mulayam is not going to be PM and congress would like to see him in Laloo's plight. No one is guaranteed of OBC vote and the apprehensions of Modi in UP will make Muslims to vote to INC if they are convinced that this is the best way to keep BJP and Modi out of central power. INC has to bring such a confidence. Maya+INC will give such a confidence. 100%Dalits+100%Muslims+Dynasty is big vote winner in UP. If INC can pull off such a thing why wouldn't they get 50 seat.muraliravi wrote: Congress + Maya will not bring Muslim vote. Mayawati or Mulayam has just one ambition (typical of any UP leader) and that is to become PM. She did ask in a dalit rally about a month ago "just make me PM in Delhi" so that I can do better things for you. Don't waste your time. She has all the dalit votes and no one breach that wall.
Mulayam praising Advani and softening up to BJP may have a a Congress hand. He keeps doing that and in the end if Maya+INC solidifies then they can use the Mulayam's overtures along with Modi's coming to power as a scare tactics to polarize towards Maya+INC combo.
In UP, it could be Modi's rejuvenated BJP Vs Maya+INC. Mulayam could become zero with just Yadav votes. OBCs could shift to BJP under Modi.
Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
After Gujarat story went out, for a common man Modi means development now.
People don't care about the politics of hatred. What they do care about is - "Development".
OBC will vote for one of the two - Maya or Modi.

Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
They will vote for Maya only if the OBC origins of Modi are underplayed. His OBC origins have to be put on display for the world to see. The people of UP when they see that an OBC leader in Gugarat has developed the state and delivered a clean and able administration. Will vote for him in droves.
IOW, BJP must target both the BSP and the SP. Through hook or crook. It must do every thing in its power to deny allies to the INC.

However, latest reports from New Delhi said Jayaprada’s mentor and philosopher in national politics Amar Singh told her not to join any regional party as she would lose her importance. He is learnt to have advised her to join the Bharatiya Janata Party which is all set to come to power in 2014 thanks to Narendra Modi factor, instead of YSR Congress party.
“The regional parties in Andhra Pradesh, as we have witnessed in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, are family-centric or individual centric. As such, there would be no importance to others. And such family leadership would not allow anybody to get attention or grow individually,” he reportedly told her.

Dalit vote bank is about 22% and Muslim vote bank is about 19% in UP. That is 41% vote. Add Die-nasty assured vote bank of say 5-6% this would be a 48-49% vote bank at the most.
When Congress + Maya polarize the 2014 elections, what will happen to the remaining voters? They become anti-polarized and vote for BJP/SP.
In 2011 elections out of 84 reserved MLA constituencies Maya won only 17 seats. Similarly BJP often won muslim majority MP constituencies.
If INC and Maya forms a pre-poll alliance I predict a big sweep in favor of BJP in UP.

Cong-BSP bonhomie upsetting SP
Ties between the Congress and the BSP have warmed up in past months - a development that has provoked SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's new-found antagonism against the UPA.
For different reasons, the SP and BSP - both outside supporters of the UPA - are not in favour of early polls.
While Congress managers realise that a formal alliance with either the SP or the BSP is not possible, they have been in close touch with BSP chief Mayawati in past months.
Given her strength to ensure complete transferability of her core vote bank, BSP is considered a better ally for the Congress after the 2014 polls.
The Congress also sees Mayawati - who is presently out of power - as a lesser political threat; while Yadav has been floating the concept of a third front every now and then.
The law and order scenario in UP has rapidly deteriorated and the SP's support base amongst the Muslims has dwindled.
"The Akhilesh government needs time to undo the political damage, but is wary about the emerging bonhomie between the Congress and BSP," a senior SP leader conceded.
The BSP, however, hopes to reap richer political harvest in the event of delayed elections.

I am not too off when I predicted this. If they really have to give it a shot, it won't just work as a coalition. She should be the next PM in the mould of MMS. The narrative will be dynasty yielding to Dalit leadership in the larger interest of dalits.

Mayawati won't be a "PM in the mould of MMS". From what I hear, she is quite dictatorial herself, and not very malleable.
She controlled Kanshi Ram, who was her mentor, in the end.
She ditched BJP after she got to the CM's chair the first time with their help.
Once she gets to the PM's chair, she would gather other allies, and ditch Congress before the Congress ditches her.
If they form a pre-election coalition with her, she will not let Congress have any seats in UP which she can grab herself.
Both Mayawati and Mulayam derive their strength from the no. of MPs they get elected from UP. There is no way either will let Congress grab any Lok Sabha seats from UP that they can win themselves.
JMHO.
Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Mayavathi once made CM cannot be controlled or removed. Removable of first Dalith female PM for what ever reason is near imppossible for INC. Mafia needs someone who has no base and can not even win a MP seat on his/her own. Chiddu fits this very neatly and he is also read to ognanise and take his cut. So no problems there with him. So Chiddu it is. Problem is chiddu may lose Loksabha this time around.

Re: Statewide and National runup to 2014 General elections
Lot of discredit is given to UP voters. I think by now even a dehati based in UP know equal or bit more than us about UP politics. They understand the politics of alliance in and out. They voted decisively in last two state polls. They voted where they saw the hope but apparently it vanished because all are same in UP. But it is a good sign nevertheless. My bet is that they will see hope in NM and will vote heavily in favor of him. And my wishful speculation is that after being fed up of con, SP and BSP, even Muslims will vote for NM. Then it all depends on the overall turnout. If we get around 70% turnout then we know who is sweeping.
