Very believable in the US (especially in a suburban area instead of a downtown city surroundings) as the population is 1/3 of india and land is 1/3 larger than India. Hard to locate individuals unlike India where everyone would notice and possibly report if anything suspiscious as there isn't much place to hide in place like mumbai or any metropolitan city.

From the story posted by asgkhan ji from WSJ:
The friend who rented an apartment to Tsarnaev family said the father, Anzor Tsarnaev, was a talented car mechanic and aspired to open his own garage.
So who is that diplomat guy who had threatened that all hell will break lose? Confusing only ...

It would have been great if they had caught the older brother alive. He seemed to be the ringleader of the two man group. He was the one who probably had the Jihadist contacts.
This group must have other linkages to other Jihadists, I only hope they can get this one alive and interrogate him.

Per CNN, the elder brother was questioned by FBI for something about couple of years ago. This is the reason why his mom was saying this as match fixing.

It would be a little cold in the water, especially this year because arrival of spring is delayed quite a bit across the country. It could be hard to swim 60 feet.

It was the father of the two suspects not a diplomat.

Not in Watertown though. I think the owner of the house noticed something and not the police sweep that found him.

At least they haven't shot some poor kid from Brazil who happened to be carrying a backpack and could not speak Queen's English. I would not want to be anywhere near any of the Londou bobbys.

There was also some statement I read (and heard on NPR just an hour back) that she had been forced to convert to Islam by the older brother.

While his origins are claimed by many, his name most probably was "Temüdjin". For an idea of the kind of historical meme/icon he has become, watch the movie- Mongol by Sergei Bodrov.

So, yes the name Tamerlane has less to do with a Muslim identity but more to do with a Chechen identity. Though that does not seem to be relevant for the moment.
The Timur of the past was not originally named Temujin, but just Timur. Temujin was Genghiz Khan's original name. Timur/Teimur/Taimur are Turkic names while Tamerlane is indeed western. Timur was born either a Muslim Turk or Turko-Mongol, while Genghiz Khan was Mongol. Timur sought to portray himself as descended from the Mongols, however.

Timur is more a popular name for Muslim Caucasians than Tamerlan, from what I've seen. Example: Azeri world #4 grandmaster Teimour Radjabov.
Incidentally it appears that Dzokhar (sp?) is pronounced Johar
