from what i can gather so far, within the greater tunga basin aka shimoga region which is Yediyurappa turf, KJP won shikaripura (Y's constituency) and Soraba. Shimoga, Bhadravati, Davangere, and even Chikmagalur no dice.

The lingayat bastion of NoKA, where 90% are supposed to vote on caste no dice for Y. They are not idiots. Y i have said repeatedly is not a pan-state leader. He is a lingayat, but not a statesman. By going on his own, he has made it a referendum on himself. This will come out as Y being a parochial leader, rather than the earlier touted leader of lingayats.

i ofcourse dont know the vote shares at this point.

Illegal miming in Karnataka could not have taken place without AP state Government and Central support. so, Informally Yeddi, Reddy Brothers and INC high command are allies. so I should feel these allies should formalise their alliance and form the Govt in Karnataka.

There are lots of folks in Karnataka Congress who have stitched their "khadi dresses" befitting the Chief Minister. Let the result come out, I expect some bickering of these fellows over the Chief Minister ship. Air planes to New Delhi I guess would have full reservations for quite some time

The Reddy brothers give money to everyone, as long as they continue to make money. So they are friends with all top dogs in the region - be it BJP or INC. It is just that when Yeddi dipped his hands into the cookie jar, he was ratted out by INC. The only thing that gets in all this bonhomie is personal enmity/ego. If two individuals do not get along then, they just do not get along. Anthe. Period. Else sab chalti ka naam gaadi.

I thought the INC had been highly weakened in the Mangalore-Kollur region (a former regular haunt of moi

) since the '04 elections.... Also IIRC the LS seat had been last held by Poojari aeons ago.

Yanyway, JDS is putting up a good show in South Central Karnataka. Egad..... to see Humble Farmer and Humbler Son rambling regularly on TV again!
