When it is not normal for a 19 year old woman in India to go with 3 men, you wonder why she went with them. Question that & you are sexist!

Modi knows best
The BJP cannot be defensive as the UPA polarizes the coming election.
By N.V. Subramanian (5 July 2013)

New Delhi: There is a sense that the Congress leadership will go for early elections using the food security ordinance and the Ishrat Jehan case as props. Would they ensure victory? No. The Bharatiya Janata Party which will win the general elections whether they are held later this year or on schedule in 2014 should follow the campaign strategies suggested by Narendra Modi who knows the pulse of the country such as no other in the BJP. The party cannot go for a half-hearted campaign on the lines suggested by Lal Krishna Advani which hews to the sort of conventional wisdom peddled on dubious op-ed pages. Elections have to be fought and won like wars without the bloodshed and killing and there is no second chance. “You could not,” as the great Greek philosopher, Heraclitus, said, “step twice into the same river.” The Bharatiya Janata Party cannot absorb the shock of a third straight election defeat and only Narendra Modi can power the party to a victory on its own. And he will accomplish this with his characteristic single-mindedness, political brilliance, organization skills, diligence, and dogged determination, provided Advani & Co. do not prove obstructive.

Modi has said that the Ishrat Jehan case must be fought politically and he is correct. Ishrat Jehan was a Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist according to the Intelligence Bureau and a suicide bomber in the words of the 26/11 Pakistani-American terrorist facilitator, David Coleman Headley. America will not extradite him to India and at bottom the United Progressive Alliance government would not press for his custody since he will become an embarrassment with his disclosures about Pakistan’s deep terroristic penetrations in this country. The Congress leadership is playing a dangerous game of aligning with Pakistani terror elements for narrow political ends and it has absolutely compromised the operations, present and future, of the Intelligence Bureau by going against it on the Ishrat Jehan case. According to a daily, the director of the Intelligence Bureau, Asif Ibrahim, a capable officer (and incidentally known to this writer), has given a written objection to the Union home ministry against the Central Bureau of Investigation’s witch-hunt of his officers in the Ishrat Jehan case and, sooner than later, this will blow up in the face of the Congress leadership.

But whilst all these facts are important in addition to the brazen and blatant misuse of the Central Bureau of Investigation by the Manmohan Singh government, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign has to go far beyond that. Narendra Modi has succeeded as a politician (his administrative excellence is another matter) in Gujarat because he has gone over the heads of his opponents to speak directly to the people. It is this that kept him going through the darkest phase of the post-Godhra calumnies and produced three massive assembly election victories in a row even as he moved at high risk away from emotional to developmental issues. It is this extraordinary capacity to sway and convince voters that terrifies the Congress leadership and his detractors in the Janata Dal-United, etc, which is what the Bharatiya Janata Party should capitalize on. When he says to fight the Ishrat Jehan case allegations politically, he means that the facts and the arguments and the circumstances of it must be placed directly in the court of the people, and Modi has the conviction of his own blamelessness and that of his administration to be certain that the Bharatiya Janata Party will emerge triumphant. It is to be noted and underlined that the Congress and UPA leadership are polarizing the coming election using the Ishrat Jehan case and exposing their dirty game and routing them electorally permits of employing every means and strategy short of minority-bashing.

Narendra Modi is also right in suggesting an overarching nationally-focussed general election campaign than a state specific one that, according to media reports, Advani is keen on. It is true that state and regional identities have grown stronger year after year and this has contributed to the seeming indomitability of coalition politics at the Centre with all its concomitant fallouts. But Narendra Modi in the manner that he has evolved and the mass support that he enjoys appears to counter this trend and, therefore, his strategy of a nationally-targeted general election campaign makes eminent sense. A general election cannot be fought like an assembly election and through its venality, sky-high corruption, abuse of institutions such as the Central Bureau of Investigation, destruction of the national economy, and the steady pauperizing of the salaried middle class and the poor, the United Progressive Alliance has given enough ammunition to the BJP. Narendra Modi knows how to make optimum use of this materiel and Advani and the other naysayers must not impede his way. Once Modi powers ahead, the Congress leadership will go into defensive mode, and the tide will turn.

In two terms, Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh have laid low the country. The worst of their governance has been exposed at the Centre and in Uttarakhand. If you believe the stock-market players, the rupee will trade 120 to the dollar before they are done. There is simply no redemption for the Congress party so long the dynasts are in control and the country will go into terminal decline if they hold the reins of power longer. In the event, Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party are the only hope for India.

There are 6 kinds of people who vote for the Congress.

1. Hoarders, Blackmarketeers, Criminals, Industrialists, Businessmen and Professionals who want to safeguard their own interests.

2. Those who want to loot India by becoming Councillors, MLAs, MPs and Ministers.

3. Those who want name and fame or to get some Rewards/Awards from the governments and Positions in the ruling establishment.

4. Christians and Muslims, as Congress gives them special privileges and allows them to dominate the Hindus.

5. Those who are monetarily or otherwise benefited from one or more of the above.

6. Some Idiots who still think that Nehru family got us freedom and hence they should support Congress.

Modi hits out at Nitish, says Bihar won't forgive him for ditching BJP
Some 500 telephone numbers were dialled simultaneously through a special equipment. At a time, some 10 receivers could interact with Modi. A total of 1,500 leaders across the state were chosen and they were divided into three groups. He talked to five leaders of each group.

Earlier, Gujarat CM Modi had been barred from entering Bihar for any campaign purposes, a writ that BJP had accepted.

Among those Modi talked to were former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi, former Ashwani Chaube, who was stranded in Uttarakhand for some time, state BJP Vice President Sanjay Mayuk, MLAs Nitin Narain and Vijay Singh.

Bihar BJP President Mangal Pande told Modi that everyone was talking about the possibility of his becoming Prime Minister

Oh yeah!

Maybe you were born after emergency or just there about. Now here is what was happening in India during emergency

1. Concentration camps in Kerala
2. Forced Sterilization across UP/Bihar/MP
3. Police brutality all over
4. Court judges (from lower to higher court) were "tailed" to see their allegiances., the investigative arm was pitted against the judicial arm

Put it this way., INC was pitting one org. against another in ahem-ahem with country., the net result

83/84 - Akali Dal, Khalistan movement
89 - LTTE/IPKF
92 - ahem-ahem with economy., mortgaging gold etc.

It was not until 1999, that an oasis of stability was reached (1977 to 1997., two lost decades for India!).

So who do you want at the helm now? I would say anything but Congress.

Ishrat Jahan case will help Modi consolidate support
Pallavi Polanki speaks to Nilanjan Mukhopadhyay about Modi.
The question that is often asked is whether India is ready for Modi. But is Modi ready for India?

Modi is not ready for my India. He is ready for his idea of India.

And what is his idea of India?

I’ll tell you the way I look at Modi. I consider Modi to be the first national mainstream political leader who has completely broken the Nehruvian template of what a political leader should be. There were four essential components of what a leader should be as evolved by Nerhru and his times. Democratic, secular, committed to a welfare state and committed to non-alignment. The last became a non-issue after 1991.

Vajpayee became the PM because Advani realised in 1995 that his hard Hindutva would not be acceptable to the people. He was outside the Nehruvian framework. So they got Vajpayee. What did Vajpayee say the moment he came into power? About Ayodhya, the most contentious issue, he said it will be resolved within the framework of the law. He was quiet about issues such as the uniform civil code.

When Vajpayee quit the scene and Advani became head of BJP he went to Pakistan and made the Jinnah statement. In March, at the National Council he said BJP should redefine its relationship with the minorities and he also said the party must form a charter of commitments for the minorities. Modi does not say all that.

He is not a democrat. He is a fairly autocratic person who believes in a top-down complete totalitarian style of functioning. He is not secular in the sense he does not believe that any special attempt should be made to carry the underprivileged or the religious minorities. On the welfare state he is very clear, distribution is incidental not integral. His India is more totalitarian than what it is, it is definitely clearly majoritarian, and not as democratic as it is now.
The Congress supporters will catch on to the top-down complete totalitarian style of functioning. But nobody in the media nor Congress supporters will contrast or question with how Sonia Gandhi functions similarly. The 'High Command' is a term that Congress wallash themselves use, yet Sonia (nor Rahul) are considered totalitarian or autocratic. Double standards.

http://www.sunday-guardian.com/news/hom ... -terrorist
Home Ministry affidavit called Ishrat a terrorist
The 14-page affidavit was filed in August 2009.

ABHINANDAN MISHRA New Delhi | 6th Jul 2013

14-page affidavit filed by the Ministry of Home Affairs with the Gujarat High Court on 6 August 2009, in reply to a petition by Ishrat Jahan's mother Shamima Kausar, called the 19-year-old girl a terrorist. The affidavit, a copy of which is available with this newspaper, stated that "to fully appreciate the whole matter particularly killing of Ishrat Jehan and Javed Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh it was essential to look at the background and linkages of Javed Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh @ Pranesh Kumar Pillai with Ishrat Jehan."

Pillai was one of the three men killed along with Ishrat Jahan on 15 June 2004 in an encounter with the Gujarat police. Pillai, who originally belonged to Kerala, was born a Hindu and later converted to Islam and adopted the name Javed Ghulam Sheikh.

The affidavit mentions that Pillai travelled to Dubai and worked there for a considerable time. "It is suspected that while working in Dubai he was subverted to the cause of LeT. Javed obtained another passport in the name of Pranesh Kumar from RPO Cochin. Javed @ Pranesh Kumar, though had never lived in Kerala, but suddenly obtained a passport in his previous Hindu name, whereas his earlier passport obtained in the name of Javed was valid till June 2004."

The affidavit, which was filed by R.V.S Mani, Under Secretary, with the Ministry of Home Affairs says that Javed visited Oman just two months before he allegedly met Lashkar operative Muzammil.

Page 1 of the affidavit

The affidavit also mentioned the statement that was issued by Lashkar-e-Taiba on the death of Ishrat. "It is humbly submitted that several Indian newspapers such as the Times of India, The Hindu, The Indian Express published news item on July 15 2004 that Lahore based 'Ghazwa Times', mouthpiece of LeT had said that the veil of Ishrat Jehan, a woman activist of LeT was removed by Indian police and her body was kept with other mujahideens on the ground. Ishrat was with her husband, sitting on the front seat of the car." This newspaper could not verify whether Ishrat was wearing a veil at the time of the encounter.

The affidavit mentioned that there were discrepancies in the statement given by Gopinath Pillai, father of Pranesh Pillai and Ishrat's mother Shamima Kausar regarding Pranesh's profession. While Pillai's father stated that he was working in a travel agency, Shamima Kausar said that he was in the business of perfume and toiletry. The statement that Javed and Ishrat were activists of LeT comes for the first time in paragraph 9 of the affidavit: "In view of the news reports mentioned in para 8 and facts submitted and stated in the succeeding paragraphs, it is evident that Javed and Ishrat were activists of the terrorist organization, LeT."

Paragraph 11

Para 11 of the affidavit says, "The Petitioner (Shamima Kausar) has recalled in detail the schedule of late Ishrat before she joined the service of Javed as a salesgirl but has not mentioned about the address of the shop/business establishment of Javed where Ishrat was to do the job of the salesgirl. There is no mention of the duty hours of Ishrat, specific commodities of perfume and toiletries being purchased and sold by Javed, the manner and places from where these items were procured by Javed. It is also not clarified ... if Ishrat after employment with Javed had discontinued her studies in Guru Nanak Khalsa College, or the tuitions she was taking prior to her employment with Javed. It is also not clear ... whether Ishrat's nature of employment with Javed was in the nature of regularly attending shop/commercial establishment of Javed from where he was running his business, if any, or only to accompany him on tour. The Petitioner also had not stated the places and purpose visited by Ishrat while accompanying Javed. The above clearly shows lack of clarity and omissions, which appear to be deliberate with the intent of concealing the real nature and activities of Javed and Ishrat."

Paragraph 12 states that the police action against the four persons including Javed and Ishrat was bona fide: "It is humbly submitted that these contradictions clearly reflect the neither Gopinath Pillai the father of Javed nor mother of Ishrat Jehan have chosen to disclose the correct facts relating to occupation, activities and movements of Javed and Ishrat on account of the fact that both Javed and Ishrat were involved in such activities disclosure of which would result in reflection of the bona fide of the police action against these four persons including Javed and Ishrat."

Paragraph 19

Commenting on the apology submitted by Jamat-ud-Dawah (mouthpiece of Lashkar-e-Taiba) which disowned Ishrat Jahan just before Gopinath Pillai filed his petition, the affidavit says, "It is humbly submitted that it is clear from the above that Ishrat was actively associated with LeT and apology by LeT mouthpiece is only tactical to discredit Indian security agencies and police and aimed (at) misleading the court."

The affidavit further goes on to mention that both petitioners failed to explain the relationship of Javed and Ishrat with the two Pakistani nationals: "Amjad Ali was a Pakistani LeT terrorist and the company of Ishrat and Javed with him clearly proves that they were working for the common mission of LeT."

Paragraph 19 of the affidavit mentions that the MHA was aware of the LeT attempts to target Indian politicians. "The answering respondent no 1 (union of India) was also aware of the inputs that LeT was planning to carry out assassination of some top level national and state leaders. LeT in this regard had tasked its Indian based cadres to monitor their movement. Union of India and its agencies, were and are, regularly sharing such inputs with the state governments including the inputs mentioned in this para."

Continuation of paragraph 19

Commenting on the two Pakistani nationals who were killed in the encounter the affidavit says, "Two of the persons killed in the police encounter on 15.6.2004 were sent by LeT to carry out terrorist action in Gujarat. One of the killed LeT cadre and Pak national was Amjad Ali. J&K police had on June 25-28 arrested a group of 18 LeT terrorists headed by the chief operational commander for central Kashmir Shahid Mehmud and his Pakistani associate Zahid Ahmed. In their disclosure they mentioned that Amjad Ali had entered India under express instructions from Muzammil for organizing terrorist network in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Amjad Ali was in regular touch with Pranesh Kumar Pillai."

"It is also submitted that Pune Police had recovered from the residence of Pranesh Kumar Pillai documents related to the preparation of high explosive devices through commonly available chemicals, electronics, circuits for timed detonation, advanced code sheets for communication and code names assigned to various targets etc, including important political personalities. Javed visited Oman (March-April 2004) where he was briefed by Muzammil, a senior LeT operative responsible for terrorist action in hinterland areas of India for targeting VIPs," reads paragraph 21.

Paragraph 21

"Attention of hon'ble court is once again invited to a very grave contradiction between contention of petitioner about the occupation of Javed and that of his father. Javed was neither in the business of perfume and toiletry nor running a taxi. As pointed out in the paras above, claimed hiring of Ishrat Jehan, daughter of petitioner Shamima Kausar by Javed was not for the purpose claimed by the petitioner but appears to be a part of the LeT conspiracy to provide cover to Pranesh Pillai of being husband and wife during his movements to various parts of the country including Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Ibrahimpur for accomplishment of his terrorist mission."

The affidavit also gave its statement on the police action: "Police action of June 15, 2004, has been independently inquired into by the Additional Director General of Police (CID and Intelligence), Gujarat State, who is neither working under Crime Branch nor is a subordinate officer to the Crime Branch, Ahmedabad City Police."

Interestingly, the home ministry did an about-turn after a month and carefully expunged all references about Ishrat Jahan's alleged links with the Lashkar-e-Taiba in the second affidavit it filed with the Gujarat High Court in September 2009.

What is indeed happening is several persons are getting unmasked and loosing their credibility.

Malini P (ex-editor Hindu) came up with a set of tweets favoring 16 year age cutoff for marriage for muslim women. And she couched it as majority-vs-minority debate in which majority should not be enforcing their views on minority. She did not expect the twitterati to respond her in kind and in so logically a manner that she basically withdrew into a shell. Bottomline, her credibility was shredded to pieces and publicly.

Then Karuna Nundy (Supreme court Judge!) did what most politicos do when confronted with reality., "went out of town on some prior engagement". This was of course after her support for IJ under the garb of patriotism. Proved the adage right. Anyway, at this stage Ms. Nundy's reputation is also shredded.

And there are score others. None of the above "worthies" realize that as public figures they need to be an extra careful on their "personal opinion" in public space., since once their opinions are out., they are public opinions and will come back to haunt them when it matters the most.

A complete de-masking is happening and at least that is a good thing.

I seriously feel that this thread should be changed to "India Vs. Bharat: Contrasting ideas for the soul of the nation".

It appears that the old bharat is trying to somehow assert through the veneer of elitist India. Will post some thoughts later on why I arrive at that conclusion.

Samajwadi patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav is a disturbed man these days. The observers sent out by him to various Lok Sabha candidates to assess the position of his party, have returned with not very encouraging reports this week.

Reports say SP candidates in over two dozen constituencies are unpopular, the people are not aware of the achievements of the Akhilesh Yadav government, there is general discontent over the functioning of the government and, most importantly, the goonda raj unleashed by SP workers has heightened the anti-incumbency factor against the party and the government.

"If we go by the reports, then the party's tally will be below 20, which will again leave us on no man's land. We will not have any bargaining power at the national level and will end up as a stooge of the ruling formation," confessed a senior SP minister.

OK Guys, you heard it here first. Mahabodhi temple trust was under Hindus (and not under Buddhist). This is a very long struggle, where even Mahatama Gandhi had suggested that the Temple management be under Hindus and not Buddhist (Buddha is Vishnu's 9th Avtara, not counting other theories). 15 days ago (after NJP walked out), Nitish transferred the control to the Buddhist (Now read a little more on why Nitish is Auranjeb incarnated a little later). This blast is just like Samjhauta express blast, they are going to implicate a bunch of Hindus (irrespective of who did it). They will play as if Hindus group were mad at this decision. Cong/Nitish/Lalu all benefits and India becomes a little more secular.
Nitish story (I have many and I will keep on writing slowly) - It show happened that VP Singh was PM of India. BJP had done reasonably well in election. They had a private bill in parliament to ban cow slaughter. So all BJP members decided to be present in parliament, and depending on the attendance (which used to be thin), they planned to get that bill passed. On planned day, the bill was placed in Parliament, thin attendance, with all BJP member present. Even Hindus from other party were either supporting that day or abstaining to let the bill pass. A certain MP from Bihar of Janta Dal, that was in power in Delhi on BJP support got the wind of that voting. They say he came running to parliament and requested that the debate be continued and time be given. Then he picked the phone and called other MPs, who were in Delhi but not in Parliament. Finally enough MPs arrived to vote against the bill and bill was defeated. Well that MP was not other than Nitish Kumar (apologies to some members here who were very enthusiastic about cong winning and lifting beaf eating in Karnataka, I have nothing against them, it just my view point).

You may be saying this due to pessimism. However, it will be a miracle to see such a nationalistically rooted team to lead India. Watch Lord of Rings one more time. The ones who are fighting against the orc army of sauron were not fighting to lose even though they know the chances of win against evil is very difficult. Just keep the spirits up and do your bit. Modi is taking a chance but he is taking it with complete strategy and he is fighting to win knowing very well the enemy is extremely powerful in this round than all the previous versions and rounds.

Tavleen reports in niticentral.com
Vasundhara’s Yatra shows anti-Congress rage consuming nation

Quotable excerpt:
“In this State,” she said, “if you count out my five years and the ten years you gave Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, you have given Congress 53 years in Government since 1947. And, you still do not have drinking water, electricity, roads or decent schools… if you had given the BJP 53 years, we would have made Rajasthan into a garden.”

This led to loud cheering from her audience that reached a frenzied crescendo when she reminded them of how Narendra Modi in fifteen years had made Gujarat into a development model that the world was impressed by. The mention of Modi’s name was a trigger for slogans demanding that he become prime minister. A demand I had heard repeatedly on my travels through Rajasthani villages but I will tell you about that next week.
Oh, read it all. Quite delectable, mussay.

Also Ms Raje shows how to handle the FSB windfall...
In the past two months the government of Ashok Gehlot has spent a fortune on handouts like cheap food grain, housing, clothing, pensions and bicycles for the rural poor. Vasundhara urged her audience to take what was being given to them because it was their money that was being spent on this ‘khairaat’. But, remember not to vote for Congress.

Serial blasts in Bodhgaya: Bomb disposal squad recovers Live IED from Mahabodhi shrine premises

So, IOW, conveniently a live IED is left behind to start an evidence trail that will magically point to communal saffron terrorists only, who knows? The more I think about it and about UPA's past actions, the more it seems plausible only, perhaps...

Meanwhile TNIE calls sri Amit shah 'Modi's Hanuman'. Sure to get traction among the sekoolaids as they'll ID it as a pejorative apellation. Only.

Modi's Hanuman spells out hawkish agenda

So, under the old good-cop - bad-cop routine, if sri amit bhai shah is spelling out a hawkish agenda, then doesn;t it make sri modi the dove/good-cop in the equation, eh? Modi as the softliner in the top-2 tag team - whuddathunkit, eh?
Addressing a gathering of Hindu sadhus in Ayodhya on Saturday after offering prayers at the makeshift Ram temple on the disputed site, Shah promised to build the Ram temple. His posture was a calculated mix of good governance and aggressive Hindutva, which he along with his mentor Modi has come to represent.

“I came to visit the Ram temple which is a centre of faith for crores of Hindus from around the world. After worshipping here I have prayed that good governance is established in the country and the nation gets rid of the Congress. I have also prayed that together we build a grand Ram temple here as soon as possible and restore Lord Ram to his rightful place,” said the 49-year-old former stock broker who is fighting for the Hindu vote share from UP on his boss’s behalf. The thrust of his argument reflects his ideology: in Ayodhya, Shah attacked the ruling Samajwadi Party government for promising quota to the Muslims. He said this would eat up the OBC quota of the Hindu OBCs.

Note the line of attack highlighted by the psec journos above... equally interestingly is this tidbit (who knows if its true)...
Ironically, Shah’s actions in UP seems to signal Modi’s break with the BJP’s past. In his speech Shah did not name Atal Bihari Vajpayee or L K Advani even once—an omission that is a habit. When he had visited Lucknow—Vajpayee’s consitutency—on May 26, he dropped both leaders from his speeches, preferring to focus on Modi alone. This time, the posters and banners in the temple town signalled the shift: these featured only the trio of Rajnath Singh, Modi and Amit Shah; Vajpayee and Advani were missing.
Hmmm.

Where do you see signs at all that his popularity is dented ? If anything it has grown with the Ishrat Jahan case - fencesitters are getting clear proof of the Congress' vindictiveness.

The rules for dealing terrorists have to be different than regular criminal court. US had Guantanamo for them. Obama was given Nobel Peace Prize but he uses drones against terrorists and sent SEAL commandos to kill Osama Bin Laden cold blooded. Putin will kill the terrorists mercilessly and so will the Israelis. Congress used hundreds of encounters all over the country but wants to eliminate Modi and hence playing communal card in Ishrat case and its caged parrot CBI. They even appointed Abdul Aziz as special prosecutors and Salim Ali to over see the whole matter in CBI. And the case is given to Judge Abhilasha KUMARI, the daughter of corrupt tainted Congress leader: Virbhadra Singh. So much for Fair Justice in Congress Sharia Court.

Must-read article that provides insight on how Modi would deal with public security and crime: Gujarar's emphasis on Public Security
When the 136th edition of the Jagannath Rath Yatra starts next week in Ahmedabad, the police of Gujarat will have the comfort of an extra pair of eyes manning the security of pilgrims — from the skies.

The police will for the first time deploy two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which they bought in May, for the yatra. The 'eye in the sky' project will give the state police a bird's eye view in terms of surveillance, according to DIG (modernisation) Rajiv Ranjan Bhagat.
The project, which became operational in December 2012, has created a vigilance network covering 23 neighbourhood spread over 200 sq km in Surat, a city that spans 326 sq km and has a population of 55 lakh. The 23-CCTV network has 104 cameras connected to a hi-tech control room at the commissioner's office. The cameras feed images to a 280 sq feet video wall. Phase II of the project will add another 1,000 cameras and will also have a face recognition system. By the end of Phase V, the city will have 5,000 cameras in total.

The Surat police say crime rates have drastically fallen in crucial areas of Bhagal, Chowk, railway station, ST Bus Depot, Hira Bazaar and Rangila Park Thanks to the CCTVs, Surat police have managed to nab criminals as well as are being able to efficiently manage the city's traffic.
While Gujarat is making rapid strides in public security, other major cities in India, such as Delhi, are moving slowly. Even after the public outrage over the Delhi gang rape, the Delhi Police are struggling to make the city safe for women. The capital's police have so far only managed to shortlist IT and consultancy firms to advise and support the government in implementing a project to make the city safe.

Delhi Police need to only look at Surat's progress. Citing data from Bureau of Police Research and Development, Central Police Organisation, Asthana says out of 53 cities, Surat is ranked at 43 when it comes to crime rate despite having a police force of only 3,000 (No. 1 having the highest crime rate). Ahmedabad is ranked 23rd with nearly 8,000 police personnel. As per the same data, Delhi, with 85,000-plus police personnel, is ranked 10th.

remember the comments from Digvijay singh. That BJP is planning to start communal riots in the INC ruled states. Me thinks that it was clever but of mis direction.

The NIA will be involved and RSS will be the claimed attacker and live will go on as usual.

Hariji, thanks for posting that link on Vasundhara Raje. This is what caught my eye:
There are things about India that only become evident when you travel outside the environs of cities like New Delhi and Mumbai. Such very important things that it should be compulsory for our elected representatives to go on regular, monthly travels of the ‘yatra’ kind through their constituencies.

disha garu,

not only elected representative, but any Bharatiya who can afford should go around Bharat yatra atleast once, interact with common people and then only open mouth, become journalist, type tweets.

I have read somewhere that in not-so-long ago people were not allowed to speak in public if they have not seen ghats of various rivers of Bharat.
