Kishtwar: The real story
What was done to the minority community on black day? Radical Islamists brutally attacked the unarmed peaceful members of the community when they objected to the anti-India slogans, they were raising post Eid prayers on Friday. The attack left two innocents dead and over 150 other injured, some of them fatally, who continue to battle for their lives in the Army Hospital, Udhampur, and Jammu Medical College Hospital. Besides, the rioters – apart from setting on fire over 50 vehicles, petrol tankers, trucks and cars — burned more than 150 shops and other business establishments, including several houses belonging to the unprotected minority community. Believe me, the authorities in the majority community dominated District Hospital Kishtwar, located in the Muslim-dominated locality, ‘refused’ to admit the gravely injured Hindus. In fact, they left them to the care of God. Such was the attitude of the authorities. It was the Army that played an important role and airlifted them to the Army Hospital, Udhampur and the Jammu Medical College Hospital.
Forced migration of Hindus from Kistwar is a real possibility, I think. These riots were well planned, and state government has actively allowed these attacks on Hindu's. Read the full article. Something nasty is being cooked, think about all the aggression on LOC at the same time.

The debate in Parliament about Kishtawar Islamic attacks(not riots) saw Abdullah mentioning Gujarat riots and blaming minority/opposition.

Shows how wild allegations and misinformation campaigns in media are cover for barbarians to justify the indefensible in future and show excuses as legitimate grievances.

That police stood watching barbarians attack minority and hospitals not admitting more than 150 injured Hindus shows it is organized probably at many levels.

Meenakshi Lekhi has wisely asked "How much money Omar Abdula Government have allocated for the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pundits" comparing to Gujarat?

Giving details of the events that unfolded since Friday last in Kishtwar town, Chidambram said violence erupted after a clash between some individuals and processionists on the day of Eid.

Some of processionists raised "pro-azadi slogans", he said adding, however, that raising such slogans is not a new phenomenon as it happens "virtually every Friday".

Two people were killed in Kishtwar, while one was found dead in another area.

"So far death toll is three -- one Hindu, two from Muslim community. But all of them are Indians," he said, adding he deeply regretted this.

So curfew has been imposed in Hindu majority Jammu and more than 100 people arrested where no riots took place, only some general strikes with no violence.

But muslim majority Kishtwar where 1000+ muslims rioted has less than 15 arrests.

I never had any hopes from muslim dominated state government, but even the central government is highly incompetent and full of cowardly fools.

Chiddu has proven himself to be another brain dead boot licker by this comment. How can people who shout anti-India, pro-Pak and commit such violence slogans be called Indians ?

Failure of police machinery fuelled Kishtwar carnage
As Kishtwar burnt on Eid, J&K chief secretary Suresh Kumar and state DGP Ashok Prasad waited for hours at the Kishtwar helipad for a police escort.

Reason: Outnumbered by rioters, a column of army troops confined the then minister of state for home Sajjad Kitchloo and district administration officials to the Dak Bungalow.

Piecing together the chain of events that led to the arson in Kishtwar and affected other areas of Jammu reveals a total failure of police machinery. Even the best of efforts made by chief minister Omar Abdullah and acting home minister P Chidambaram, who managed to get army troops air-dropped at an altitude of 12,000 feet in Padder village near Kishtwar on August 11, failed to control the situation.

While Chidambaram gave orders for the air dropping on August 10 itself, the Mi-17 helicopter from Udhampur could not land at the village due to bad weather. The death of one person in Padder Tehsil and another three suffering pellet injuries, indicate that shotguns given to village defence committees had been used in the riots.

Abdullah had spoken to defence minister AK Antony to requisition army troops in Kishtwar on August 9 itself. The first column of 30 troops reported at around 12:30 pm at the Dak Bunglow where the Police brass alongwith Kitchloo had stayed put. To make matters worse, the administration with Kitchloo at the helm of affairs did not impose curfew despite arson and looting to avoid being accused of spoiling Eid festivities. Curfew was imposed and army deployed after troop reinforcements came in from a unit at Thathri, 35-40 km from Kishtwar at 5 pm.

Top government sources said the police machinery did not only fail in Kishtwar but also in Jammu where on August 10 the BJP, VHP and RSS workers indulged in stone-pelting all through the day in response to communal clashes on Eid. The first arrest of 11 persons in Kishtwar came 72 hours after carnage on August 12 and more than 24 hours after violent protests in Jammu. There was a stone-pelting incident by the minority community in Kishtwar on Monday despite curfew being imposed in the town.

No wonder Kitchloo resigned. He messed up very badly.

But how can the acting Home Minister order air drop of army troops?

Where was AK Anthony in the loop?

shyamdji,
It seems from official media reporting and statements in parliament by Shri Chidambaram, that at best Hindus and mohammedans were equally responsible and at worst Hindus were the provocateurs responsible for instigating pi$s loving musalmaans.

The NC MP implied in so many words that it were the Hindus who had been provoking mohammedans by throwing stones on mosques, scribbling graffiti etc.The insinuation seems to be Hindus invited trouble.Thats the narrative in Hindustan Times,Chindu. And that mohammedans were well within their rights to give it 'back' to the dirty kaffirs.

You are the 'unofficial official' spokesperson here.Whats the official view? Is it similar to above and is it justified in your view?Infact the NC MP and other assorted thugs(Ram Vilas Paswan etc) implied that it was modibhais rise in BJP which was encouraging 'wrong' sentiments in Kishtwar, particularly expectations on Art 370.Is it the case in Congress, that Hindus in Jammu have to live with Saudi sharia compliant laws on expression of their thoughts.

Kishtwar clashes: Minority Hindu business community threatens to move out
PTI [ Updated 14 Aug 2013, 07:04:46 ]

Image

Kishtwar, Kashmir: Members of the minority business community in Kishtwar have threatened to move out of the area unless the state government took steps to provide security and pay compensation to them following the communal clashes which broke out in the town on Eid.

"We want security and licenced weapons. The government should also compensate us for our losses in the arson on Friday," said Rakesh Gupta, president of the Kishtwar Chamber of Commerce.

Gupta alleged that members of the minority business community had incurred losses of a total Rs 80 crore in the clashes.

"If the government fails to fulfil our demands, we will migrate away from Kishtwar. We have been facing such attacks repeatedly," said Gupta, who lost his garment showroom in the arson.

"Such clashes is not a new thing for us. We have faced such cases in 1993, 1998, 2003 and 2008, but they were of a lesser magnitude," he said.

Over 150 small and big business establishments were affected in the clashes, he said.

"But the government will pay compensation of a few lakhs only and that is it," Gupta said.

A total of 68 shops, seven hotels and 35 vehicles were damaged in the violence which also led to three casualties, Jammu Divisional Commissioner Shantmanu had said.

"I have lost my entire business in a fire triggered by miscreants. Its value was over Rs 20 lakh and it was my livelihood," said Khushi Ram Shan, whose two shops dealing with plywood retail and hardware was burnt down on Friday.

Vijay Kumar Parihar, who had recently obtained a loan to set up an eatery was cursing himself for having opened a business in Kishtwar.

"My shop was set on fire and my dream project is no more", he said.

Meanwhile, Principal Secretary (Home) Suresh Kumar told reporters here last night that there was "no threat of migration".

"We will take confidence building measures and provide security wherever needed," Kumar had said.

Splitting J&K into 3 states (Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh and 1 UT for KP out of Kashmir) is the only way out of this morass. This artificial construct called J&K must go away and things should return to their natural state of affairs. After all, all 4 entities have not much in common with each other including language, culture, food habbits nor they share matrimonial relationship among one another.

Why should people of Jammu and Ladakh be ruled and held captive by KM leadership of Abdullah family ?

Media's silence is deafening. Secularists got away after anti-minority attacks, murders and pillage. Amarnaath yaatra is halted, pilgrims attacked by barbarians, minority Hindu areas are under curfew, minority citizens are arrested even, injured are refused entry in hospitals. Secularism is only valid when barbarians aren't in majority. After that secularism is about silence on barbarism.

Let us see how much the INC-NC govt cares for minority and who all turn out to be maut ke saudagar once details start coming out.

Bajrang Dal stoked Kishtwar riots, say intelligence agencies
Intelligence agencies have told the government that Bajrang Dal, an affiliate of Sangh Parivar, was involved in stoking communal violence in Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir. The Cabinet was informed about this on Monday by Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram.
Amidst the backdrop of growing clamour in the state for disbanding the village defence committees (VDCs), that were set up in 1990s to resist the militancy, Union minister Farooq Abdullah reportedly told the Cabinet that many VDCs comprised "communal" elements. When the VDCs were set up, the affiliations and antecedents of the members were not verified, Abdullah reportedly told the Cabinet and called for taking corrective measures, once the normalcy returns to the area.

We are treated differently as if we aren't part of the mainstream: Omar Abdullah
Srinagar: Pained by the criticism over the recent communal violence in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today demanded to know why Kashmiris were treated differently.

Stand by whilst ethnic cleansing goes on, threaten all hell will break loose if article 370 is abolished, take to the streets in the millions just because some Hindu pilgrims want a small piece of land to temporarily camp on...........the Muslim citizens of J&K behave like 5th columnists and then Abdullah is moaning about being treated differently

This Bajrang Dal conspircay theory is just what I posted earlier in this thread. The Paki elements of Abdullah regime are trying their level best to disarm the Village Defence Committees, so that the Hindus can be sitting ducks for their inbreeding goons.
Blaming right wing Hindu elements is just a very convenient excuse when you consider wannabe Pakis and secularists we have in our gobarment and media. These right wing Hindu organisations were there for the Kashmiri Hindus in Jammu and beyond when they had to escape from Kashmir. They also played a good role in helping surviving Hindus in J&K getting trained and defend themselves against terrorists. They helped organise VDCs and gave them a hope when secularists were busy elsewhere.
Now Abdullah and his Paki cronies are just trying to pass on the blame to these organisations while claiming that their own feral pigs smell of roses.

By the way, allegations of Bajrang Dal instigating stoning on a peacefool muslim mob is preposterous and a big f00cking lie. The peace loving Muslims were armed, harassing Hindus and shouting anti-India and anti-Hindu slogans long before any clashes occurred.

As far as Abdullah whining is concerned Kashmir muslims are disdained by other muslims of J&K too and for very good reasons. Why should rest of India behave differently ?
Just as an example, people who like to travel should see how KMs involved in the industry behave. They are everywhere and provide worst service at highest cost.

In Gujarat there were riots, not one-sided targeted attacks on minoritie, and there were elections declared post Godhra assault on Hindu pilgrims and subsequent riots.

Abdullahs seem to not go for elections and still complain and whine in J&K. Blaming Hindu org Bajarannga Dala and even VDC shows the farce of INC-NC secularism even when majority Muslims attacked minorities on Friday.

No,amalgamation of Jammu would then increase the isolation of the Valley and its predominantly Muslim population, who which would then legitimise J&K being a "Muslim" state. The right of return of the Kashmiri Pandits is non-negotiable and should be enforced by the GOI.

I've said before,we need to beef up our mil.force in the valley, set up a string of military cantonements/settlements,each within a short distance of the other terrain determining, heavily defended, high outer walls/fencing,preventing suicide attacks, helipads inside, underground bunkers,etc.,etc.,plus large enough for a large population. They should be small townships in practice having all facilities for work, recreation, study, etc.Italian /Roman hillside towns are a good example. These settlements would be outside the jurisdiction of the J&K govt. ,coming under the central govt.It then by-passes the "special status" of J&K,avoiding controversy.

An idea from the UK is worth contemplating.A series of police/para forces to avoid the army bearing the brunt of attack from locals after terror attacks and collateral damage in countering these attacks. In London one now has "CEOs",Community Enforcement Officers".They aren't reg. police,in any case the British "Bobby" is supposed to be unarmed.Locals could be mostly of this kind, the "Provincial Police",to give them a high sounding title (this is an idea that the Lankans could use in the North),while only the regular police would bear arms. The PP would be tasked with local community peacekeeping, maintaining harmony, sorting out petty disputes, etc. The regular Police would be tasked with the usual job of crime fighting and maintaining law and order with force (riot control, tear gas, rubber bullets, lethal fire as a last resort, etc.) The paras, the RAF/CRPF/Kashmir Rifles whatever, would be as they are, equipped with suitable arms and eqpt. to take on terrorists ,insurgents, etc. acting in unison with the army when needed. The IA can the concentrate on the main task of defending the borders and planning for the day when POK is liberated.

There's an email on Barkha Dutt that I was copied on circulating amongst the desis. Here's a partial reproduction of it. In this email there are certain statements. Are these true? Please ignore my being out of touch on this woman's personal life?

Recent news stories of Dr. Haseeb Drabu, who is the Chairman of J&K Bank reveal that he was asked to leave his position, because of his close relations with PDP & Anti-India Hurriyat factions. The IB has submitted a report to MHA / Centre saying that Haseeb Drabu was sharing confidential details of Bank with PDP & Hurriyat hardliners, an act that potentially provides terrorist organisations with critical information to sabotage Indian interests. These IB reports also state that Haseeb Drabu was the author of a "Self Rule" Document that was part of PDP's election manifesto last year. He had also envisioned the need for a separate currency "Karra" for J&K's autonomy.

Haseeb Drabu is Barkha Dutt's second husband........, First one was also a Kashmiri Muslim by name of Mir.

This is how India gets eaten away from inside by terrorists and their "Hindu" front. It's security advisers & its policy makers that a journalist of National Repute & Padma Shri recipient is the spouse of a pro-secessionist anti national, an anti-national media that is actively involved in spitting venom against innocent Hindus and nationalists like Narendra Modi.

Interesting bit of news if true
This guy studied in JNU too

From 2010.

Code: Select all

http://www.greaterkashmir.com/news/2010/Aug/28/haseeb-drabu-resigns-says-no-regrets-27.asp
Srinagar, Aug 27: A day after the Jammu and Kashmir government asked the chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Dr Haseeb Drabu, to step down, the state’s top-notch economist put in his papers before the Board of Directors on Friday. The Board has approved the resignation.
In a chat with Greater Kashmir, Dr Drabu confirmed that he had tendered his resignation and sought to be relieved from all responsibilities of the Bank. “As I leave the bank after serving it for five years, I feel I am leaving the organization in a stronger and better position than when I took over as its chairman,” he said, categorically refusing that he had any regrets over the resignation.
Asked if he had any clue on why he was asked to resign, Dr Drabu said, “Government must have something in mind. I was asked to resign, so I did. I didn’t ask for any explanation nor do I feel it is appropriate to do that.”
In response to a question on whether it was the regime change that led to his resignation, Dr Drabu said, “There have been many regime changes. I have been the chairman for the last five years. There have been two regime changes and I have continued. So, I do not think there is any thing to do with the regime change.”
Sources said Dr Drabu put in his resignation at around 11 AM on Friday. The resignation came immediately after the commissioner/secretary, Finance, Sudanshu Panday reached the Bank Headquarters at Dalgate and looked for Dr Drabu, who was on way to the office. It has been reliably learnt that the state government had asked Panday to replace Dr Drabu, though it was not permissible under rules.
As Dr Drabu’s news made the headlines of online versions of different local and Delhi-based dailies, sources said he received a volley of telephone calls from various political and banking quarters in different parts of India.
Reliable sources said the Prime Minster’s Office too called Dr Drabu and inquired about his resignation. Following this, they said, Dr Drabu received a call from a deputy governor in the Reserve Bank of India, who inquired the same thing. Later, the sources said, a joint secretary at the Union Finance Ministry also rang up Dr Drabu over the issue.
Sources said following Dr Drabu’s resignation, the Board of Directors is exploring at least three options with regarding to running the affairs of the J&K Bank. The options include formation of a committee to run the Bank till its full-fledged chairman was appointed, handing over the charge to Finance Secretary, Sudanshu Panday till further orders and immediate constitution of a search committee to appoint the Bank chairman.

BACKGROUND
In an unexpected move, the state government had Thursday evening asked Dr Drabu to step down, without citing anything. The development came immediately after the government, in a cabinet meeting, ordered a major reshuffle in police and bureaucracy. Dr Drabu’s resignation issue, had, however, not come up during the meeting.
Pertinently Dr Drabu had offered to put in his papers soon after Omar Abdullah took over as J&K’s chief executive in 2008 but Omar had asked him to continue. However, he resigned as state’s economic adviser paving way for retired IAS officer Jalil Ahmad Khan to take over. The top notch economist from Kashmir had taken over the state’s only listed company after Muhammad Yousuf Khan completed his tenure after the PDP government took over in late 2002.
J&K Bank’s business has tripled during Dr Drabu’s tenure and the bank was aiming at Rs 1,000 crore profit by the next fiscal. During his tenure, the profitability of the Bank has shot up five times from Rs 100 crore in 2004-2005 to Rs 512 crore in 2009-2010. In June this year, J&K Bank achieved the distinction of being the first zero NPA bank in the country. As per rating agencies, J&K Bank is rated as one of the three most stable bank’s in India.
Earlier, during the peak of the crisis state government had asked the J&K Bank not to keep its branches open on the days when separatists were keeping the markets open.
Dr Drabu whose contribution to his home state was increasing the credit flow to Kashmir from Rs 1200 crores in 2005 summer to Rs 12000 crores in 2010 was facing a lot of music for “filling the belly” of the people. He has single-handedly faced the challenge and ensured that J&K bank is permitted to function the way all other banks function across India.

Even Manmohan Singh is a sardar. Kya teer maar liya usne.

Hindus of Jammu region are no pushover provided they are armed. Check the history of Dogras. That is why J&K govt is trying hard to disarm the VDCs. Once the VDCs are disarmed, it is pack up time for Hindus in Upper Jammu region. It will be 1989 once again except that the refugee camps will be much larger.

But Hindus at large have to come out of fantasy land that some one(sikhs for example) will come and save them. Hindus could do better to develop their own courage and character with emphasis on armed resistance and resilience. Without rapid militarization of a common hindu it is game over for Hinduism in Indian subcontinent. Anyway Eunuchs (the current condition of Hindus) deserve neither security nor freedom. The islamists and christians are winning one district at a time.

Another thing that jammu hindus could do is to launch an agitation for a separate state. Without their own state they will always be subject to islamist tyranny based out of srinagar and supported from islamabad

If anything Jammu should be a independent state of the union.
What is this business of Jammu be merged with Himachal or Punjab. Yes there are common traits but by and large, Denizens of Jammu are as distinct as Harayanvi/Punjabi/Himachali. Enough of people from other states ruling Jammu and NO we don't need Sardars to protect us at the borders. We are self sufficient enough to do it on our own.
General Zoravar Singh someone.

Give peace a chance, split J&K into separate entities.

I don't like divisions based upon language, ethnicity, culture etc. But Jammu and Laddkah need to be free of Kashmiri Muslim hegemony. I'm all in favour of bifurcation of J&K with Jammu and Laddakh part of one state and Kashmir with AFSPA and article 370 on the other.

These Kashmiri Muslims have much more power and influence disproportionate to their actual size and capability and are dragging Jammu and Laddakh to hell with them.

Jamwal ji, statehood for Jammu is a must for well being of hindus. It might take some time but this is the only way out. However till then and even after formation of Jammu state, do not let anyone disband VDCs and disarm hindus i.e until unless Hindus of Jammu have a fetish for living in Refugee camps.

Darshann sahib,
Couldn't agree more with you in this context. It's necessary for every non-muslim, not just Hindus.

There is a refugee camp in Jammu city, Mutthi camp where a large number of Kashmir Hindus still live in similar slum like conditions. Then there were non-muslims from PoK who had to flee from their homes during 1947 war.

The CM should be answerable or there should be President's rule in J&K.

Secularists are providing cover of silence to barbarians. There is no hint of central authority doing anything other than dropping paratroopers which doesn't seem to be working. Local authorities, instead of disciplining inactive police, are busy blaming Narendra Modi
and attacking Hindus for attacks on Hindus.

There is media blackout and total lack of any videos/pictures- seems like seculars will do anything to have no permanent record of direct attacks. In fact Abdullahs were whining about Gujarat riots in Kashmir for attacks on minority Hindus.

Trifurcation of Kashmir
Kehte Hai in Secualr Indian Hai

MIRWAIZ Maulvi Umar Farooq, chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference-M, did well to denounce earlier in the month the moves of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to trifurcate [Indian] Kashmir and separate Jammu and Ladakh from the Valley. These moves have a long history behind them. The immediate inspiration came from the decision of the Congress Working Committee, on July 30, to separate the Telengana areas from the state of Andhra Pradesh with the city of Hyderabad as its capital. In 1956, when provincial boundaries were redrawn on the basis of language, the erstwhile state of Hyderabad was split into three parts on a linguistic basis. The demand for splitting up Jammu & Kashmir is not based on language or culture, but on the refusal of the RSS and its front bodies to live under Muslim rule once Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah became prime minister of Jammu & Kashmir. Two forces began to work in tandem. One was Maharaja Hari Singh, the former ruler, and his son Karan Singh. The other was the Jan Sangh set up in 1951 by Syama Prasad Mookerjee, an acolyte of the Hindu Mahasabha leader V.D. Savarkar. To whip up Hindu opinion for his Jan Sangh, Mookerjee hit upon the removal of Article 370 of the constitution, containing special provisions for Jammu & Kashmir, and the separation of Jammu and Ladakh from the rest of the area. Hari Singh and co had already launched their own moves in that direction. As far back as on April 17, 1949 Prime Minister Nehru wrote to his deputy Vallabhbhai Patel about a disturbing report he had received “from one of our intelligence officers who had been sent to Kashmir”. It bears quotation in extenso in view of its relevance now 64 years later. “In this report, among other things, a reference was made to a growing Hindu agitation in Jammu province for what is called a zonal plebiscite. This idea is based on the belief that a plebiscite for the whole of Kashmir is bound to be lost and therefore let us save Jammu at least. You will perhaps remember that some proposal of this kind was put forward by the Maharaja some months back.
“It seems to me that this kind of propaganda is very harmful indeed for us. Whatever may happen in the future, I do not think Jammu province is running away from us. If we want Jammu province by itself and are prepared to make a present of the rest of [Kashmir] to Pakistan, I have no doubt we could clinch the issue in a few days. The price we are fighting for is the valley of Kashmir.
“This propaganda for a zonal plebiscite is carried on by what is known as the Jammu Praja Parishad. Our intelligence officer reported that this Praja Parishad is financed by the Maharaja. Further, that the large sums collected for the Dharmarth Fund, which are controlled by the Maharaja, are being spent in propaganda for him… In the intelligence report mention was made of the Yuvraj getting mixed up in this business”. That Yuvraj, the crown prince, was Karan Singh. The Jammu fixation was also shared in some high circles. On Oct 11, 1951 Dr. B.R. Ambedkar said, in a statement after his resignation from Nehru’s cabinet: “The right solution for the Kashmir issue was to partition [Jammu & Kashmir]. Give the Hindu and Buddhist parts to India and the Muslim part to Pakistan as we did in the case of India”, adding later in the month in a speech at Jalandhar “If we cannot save the whole of Kashmir, at least let us save our kith and kin”.The president of India, Rajendra Prasad, an ardent supporter of Patel, shared this communal outlook. He wrote to Nehru on July 14, 1953, “My misgivings are that if there is an overall plebiscite we may lose the whole of … Jammu & Kashmir and have to face the problem of the exodus and rehabilitation of practically the whole of the Hindu population”.
By then Syama Prasad Mookerjee had whipped up communal feelings in Jammu. His outlook and calculations were exposed in his protracted correspondence with Nehru and Abdullah. The demand for trifurcation was revived when the BJP came to power in New Delhi 45 years later in 1998. No sooner had it consolidated its hold on power than it began to talk of splitting up Jammu & Kashmir. The then chief minister Farooq Abdullah warned in October 2000 that, in the event of a split, three of the six districts of Jammu which have a Muslim majority, would refuse to remain part of Jammu; namely, Doda, Poonch and Rajauri. Of the other three — Udhampur, Jammu and Kathua — a tehsil in Udhampur, Gool Gulab Garh and three in Rajauri will go to the Valley. Advocates of a separate ‘Jammu state’, he added, were welcome to their two and a half districts. In 1979 Ladakh was split into a Muslim majority Kargil and Buddhist majority Leh. It is accepted at all hands that the Muslims of Jammu share the aspirations of the Muslims of the Valley.
L.K. Advani, then home minister, voiced his support for trifurcation at Leh in June 2000 but retracted it in the face of criticism and the warning delivered by Farooq Abdullah in December 2000: “India will be left with two and a half districts while the so-called Greater Kashmir will go on a platter to Pakistan eventually.”Not for the first time in history the so-called “nationalists” promote a programme which will only cause harm. The best course is to vigorously urge for a speedy settlement of the Kashmir dispute.

Separatist slogans on banknotes in J&K
An unknown Kashmiri separatist group called Kashmir Graffiti has become active in Jammu & Kashmir, stamping separatist slogans on Indian currency notes to voice their demands.

According to their statement posted on social networking site Facebook, the group has stamped currency worth Rs 30 crores in the last four months. The group has also put a video on youtube about it.

...Head of corporate communications, J&K Bank, Sajad Bazaz said the claim of Rs 30 crore branded with slogans is yet to be verified by the police. Action will follow, he said. "So far the currency is concerned the stamped notes can't be termed as invalid," Bazaz said.

Inspector general of police Abdul Gani Mir said, "These are fake identities and without internet protocol (IP) addresses."

"We know it is just a little effort but we believe it will go a long way in sending message to people of India what a common Kashmiri wants," the group said on its Facebook page 'Kashmir Graffiti'.

The organization feels it is a novel way of expressing dissent against Indian occupation on Kashmir. "That is why we came with such a new idea. We are hereby adding another dimension to our struggle against Indian autocratic rule. Kashmiris have neither accepted Indian forcible occupation in the past nor will we ever do so," it said.

No wonder such trivial incidents didn't make national tv. Might spoil omar's soaring reputation after all...

Muslim mobs attack houses of Kashmiri Pandits in Pulwama
http://www.jagran.com/news/national-sto ... 59916.html

Is there some kind of rehab of pundits taking place in Kashmir valley as the incidents in Pulwama suggests?
