Seriously? This is how low this forum has fallen? When I objected to people using "south TN" earlier I was told by an assorted association of mutual back-patters that this was supposed to poke fun at Theo and meant little else. Now though we seem to have descended to arbitrarily assigning fellow citizens to groups thought of as what? Un-Indian? What a shame.What a sham in a forum supposedly about the defense of India.

Take it easy. S.TN is a moniker for the tendency that wants to keep Bharat as a subject of Abrahamic world-view. It is like the word "caste". People hate the word "caste" but use it in every aspect of their life.

New target: Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore leaves Army, joins BJP

Many would have been surprised to see Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on the dais along with BJP strongman Narendra Modi here on Tuesday. The Athens Olympics silver medallist was, after all, a hardcore Armyman.

It soon became clear that the 43-year-old shooter was changing jobs. Having served the Army for long, he was switching to politics, and BJP was his chosen party. "It is an agnipariksha I am willing to take, if I can bring satisfaction to myself and many others," Rathore said.

Elaborating on his "tough decision", Rathore, who took VRS after an illustrious careers which began with the Sword of Honour at the Indian Military Academy in 1990, said he is driven by a new passion.

"You have a sense of drive. We talk about the issues in India. But when it comes to doing things why should we shy away. Especially in a position that I'm in, I could have picked the easy way out but that's not my character shaped up by my training in Army and sports. It's our country and we must stand by it," Rathore told TOI.

Lenin, Stalin, Bulganin... these are pretty common names all over TN. Nothing to do with religion - a lot of Hindu parents were truly impressed by the Soviet Union's leaders and named their kids appropriately.

Likewise, I've heard that there are parts of the erstwhile Soviet Union, where kids are called... Nehru, Indira, maybe even Rajiv.

I agree, the joke of 'S.TN', has gone too far in my opinion. Very soon, it will enter BRF Dictionary, and will become an accepted form to refer some communities.

That is princess Diya Kumari. Her love marriage to a 'same gotra' person (palace driver by profession) was a big controversy in Rajput Samaj in 1997. IIRC resolutions were passed against the Royal family, in the Samaj meetings at Rajput Sabha Bhavan, Jaipur.
Rajmata was a headstrong person. As one of the early members of Swatantra party and afterwards, she and Indira Gandhi were always at bitter odds. A person whose aura spread from Vogue to British elite, who shared good and bad relations with Indian titans like Vajpayee, Nehru and Indira; there was only one Gayatri Devi and one Rajmata like her. I had once done a series of posts on Rajmata at an FB page that I run.
Sadly, soon after Rajmata passed away, the Jaipur royals are already in property feud.

Contacted on his cell phone by India-West this week, Nori would not respond to questions about whether he was currently treating Gandhi.

Gandhi has not yet been served with the summons, as process servers have been unable to locate her at various New York hospitals, according to Gurpatwant Pannun, attorney for the U.S.-based Sikhs for Justice. The summons most be served within 120 days.

Pannun told India-West that if the organization failed to serve the summons while Gandhi is in the U.S., it will invoke The Hague Convention procedures for serving summons abroad.

“The Congress Party organized the systematic killing of Sikhs in 1984. Sonia has been protecting and shielding killers and giving them important positions within the Congress party,” stated Pannun. “We want to expose Sonia Gandhi’s role in killing thousands and thousands of innocent Sikhs. There have been no investigations of these killings at all,” he stated.

The now powerful scion of the Congress party was not involved in politics when the riots occured in 1984 and did not engage in politics until two years after her husband Rajiv Gandhi’s murder in 1991

Actually that is why I never use S.TN.

South Tamil Nadu may have a lot that is not exactly what is being opposed. God only knows better but I doubt if the Christian majority in S.TN is anything like the favorite Punching Sandbag. Dividing ones own land and own people cannot be a smart idea. I dread the day western UP is called Pak-B or something like that. Bihar could be misspelt Nikusthan.

The least that needs to be established before a rhetoric can be used is a murti (or substance of the idea), that is being so caricatured. Kongis are a caricature of an idea. West is a caricature too though understandable only by people who have had some exposure to traditional Indian knowledge systems. But not S.TN.

S.TN. is just a geographical classification.

Garb it in decent words like nationalism and patriotism, and base parochialism is magically transformed. It's a license then to call people from different parts of the country names without sounding like ignorant, narrow minded twerps.

You've been missing out on that Telangana thread. Razakars? Pffft... All of Telengana was happily being described as Pakis. So not just parochialism but of the really narrow kind. It's a deep and rich irony for them to call out Theo on his personal brand of chauvinism.

Seriously! Enouogh energy has been wasted on him. He has ruined his repuation, his life's work, legacy, everything! He is hell bent on ruining his party too, just because of his greed, ego and lust for power. What a fall! BJP should dump him (and Sushma and Ananth, if the need be).
